一端が揺動可能に支持されたアーム部材と、
該アーム部材の他端に回転可能に支持されると共に、前記給紙トレイの前記被記録媒体に接触して前記被記録媒体を送給する給紙ローラと、
を備えた給紙装置において、
前記給紙ローラは前記被記録媒体の送給方向と略直交方向に間をあけて2個設けられ、
2個の前記給紙ローラの略中間を通る中心線上で、かつ、前記給紙ローラから離れた位置に、付勢されて前記被記録媒体に接触される接触部を有する回転規制部材を設け、該接触部は 前記被記録媒体との摩擦係数が、前記被記録媒体の送給方向と略直交方向で大きく、前記被記録媒体の送給方向で小さいことを特徴とする給紙装置。
