天井板の後端部分の内側に設けられたエアバッグ収納部にインフレータ及びエアバッグ本体が収納され、このエアバッグ本体が、後突時のインフレータの作動により、エアバッグ本体の膨張領域に在る天井板の開放領域を開放させて展開膨張する自動車のリヤエアバッグにおいて、
エアバッグ収納部が、ルーフパネルの後端部にそれぞれ接合されるルーフリヤヘッダの前端フランジ部及び後端フランジ部間の凹部に形成され、
この凹部に収納されるインフレータが、その質量を前記ルーフパネルに付加するように前記ルーフリヤヘッダに設けた支持部材に支持されたことを特徴とする自動車のリヤエアバッグ。
