図3(A)は、乗降扉1に挟まれた介在物8がプラットホーム側から引っ張られた場合の戸先ゴムの動作例を示している。介在物8がプラットホーム側から引っ張られると、介在物8が、戸先ゴム2cの空気室3の近傍(板厚の薄い部分)を圧迫するため、空気室3の空気圧を敏感に上昇させ、空気室3に連通する図1に示す空気圧センサ5に戸挟みを検知させる。
