Abstract

  A golf advertising system is provided. The golf advertising system includes a golf practice mat having promotional items on a substantially uniform surface. The promotional material is preferably placed in a removable part that can be replaced with other promotional material. A golf ball supply device is also provided, which preferably functions as a tee divider. More preferably, the golf ball supply device includes a removable advertisement. The golf ball supply device can be used in combination with a golf practice mat, and the golf ball can be supplied on or above the promotional material on the mat surface in order to increase the attention to the advertisement. In other embodiments, the golf ball pitching device comprises an electronic display panel, an audio output device, a video camera that records a golfer's swing, or a seating area. The electronic display panel can display promotional material and can provide feedback regarding the golfer's swing, if desired. An optional mirror is provided for the golfer to confirm the swing. A plurality of such golf ball providing devices can be connected via a network and a central computing device.

Description

  The present invention relates to a golf ball hitting practice business, and more particularly, to a tee mat having a removable advertisement portion and a golf ball supply device that displays an advertisement on a surface and can also be used as a tee divider.

  The golf industry spread around the world is one of the largest, if not most, sporting industries in the world. The golf business ranges from local golf equipment retailers to driving ranges, public golf courses, and private country clubs. Golfers are usually people who belong to the socio-economic group upstream from the middle of society, and have a relatively high level of income that can be used freely and can be invested. It is a target. Therefore, there is an ongoing need for new ways to communicate advertising content to golfers.

  For example, US Pat. No. 5,443,870 issued to Lurie et al. Discloses a golf ball striking mat designed to allow a simulated experience of the state of a golf course. There are two artificial turf portions on the mat, one artificial turf portion having a long artificial turf and a simulated hill. The other artificial turf portion is flat and has a short artificial turf. And these two artificial turf parts are separated by a part without turf, and the part without turf can be used for advertisement. The part without turf is not designed to hit a golf ball from there. Further, the portion without the turf and the advertisement placed on the portion are integrated with the remaining portion of the mat so that the advertisement is not peeled off or changed over a long period of time.

  Other golf mats have signs and the like, but there is no advertising space, particularly a removable or replaceable advertising portion. For example, see US Pat. No. 5,333,875 issued to Wilson et al., Golf ball striking with first and second striped patterns arranged generally parallel at or near where the golf ball is placed. A mat is disclosed. With such a golf mat, a golf ball hitting practitioner can align the head of the golf club while comparing it with the stripe of the golf ball. Also see U.S. Pat. No. 4,000,905 to Shahol, which discloses a mat that guides a golfer when addressing a ball. The mat displays guidelines indicating the foot position and angle, ball placement, and the correct direction for the club to pass. Similarly, U.S. Published Patent Application No. 2001/0036869 of Grabowsky has a golf mat that displays a plurality of different foot shapes and club numbers that indicate the association between each foot shape and the club used. It is disclosed. In other words, in this golf mat, the pattern is based on the horizontal and vertical center lines of the golf ball, and is positioned at an appropriate position for the specific club to be used. As a result, the golfer correctly addresses the golf ball. Can do.

  In addition to golf mats, driving range tee dividers are not utilized in combination with advertising material in an efficient and synergistic manner. Typical golf tee dividers are US Pat. No. 5,482,269 granted to Scott et al. (Hereinafter “Scott”) and US Patents granted to Witech et al. (Hereinafter “Witec”). No. 5,586,942. In US Pat. No. 5,482,269 issued to Scott, the tea divider includes a frame and a deflector sheet secured to the top and bottom of the frame by a rope. The tee divider keeps the next golfer at the driving range and prevents the golfer from hitting another golfer. U.S. Pat. No. 5,586,942 granted to Witec achieves the same purpose as the T.sub.divider granted U.S. Pat. No. 5,482,269, but The structure includes a pocket for accommodating a bucket full of golf balls and a groove for accommodating a golf club. US Pat. No. 5,482,269 granted to Scott and US Pat.   Automatic golf ball feeders are also increasingly being used in driving ranges. Generally, there are two types of golf ball supply devices. That is, an apparatus for supplying a golf ball by raising the ball from under the mat and an apparatus for supplying a golf ball onto the mat from the side. Disclosed another golf ball supply device in which, when the lever is pushed down, the tee is closer than the surface of the golf mat. When the golf ball delivery device falls to a low position and places the ball on the tee and the lever is released, the ball placed on the tee is raised to the golfer's hitting position. In addition, the golf ball supply device that places the ball on the tee from a position lower than the mat has a disadvantage that the mat is worn out when it is repeatedly used, and the mat needs to be replaced. The replacement of the mat integrated with the golf ball supply device can be a heavy burden on the golf driving range manager.

  Such an inconvenience is often seen in a golf ball supply apparatus that places a golf ball on a tee from the side, but it is not so expensive to replace a part of the golf ball supply apparatus when the mat is worn out. For example, US Pat. No. 6,685,573 to Anderson discloses a portable device that can place a golf ball on a tee without user intervention. The device uses sensors to determine when a new ball is needed and uses the arm to lower the ball onto the tee. U.S. Pat. No. 5,282,628 issued to Komori et al. Discloses an automatic golf ball supply device for hitting, in which a golf ball is placed directly on a mat. Similarly, U.S. Pat. No. 5,996,839 to McLinn also discloses a golf ball supply apparatus. However, both of these devices require individual tee dividers, and golf driving range managers need to purchase and maintain individual tee dividers and golf ball supply devices.

  Unfortunately, in any of the above devices, a removable and replaceable area is provided in the golf mat, tee divider, and golf ball supply device, and the area is not utilized as a place for advertising. Furthermore, none of the above golf ball supply devices are integrated with a tee divider. Each of the devices described above operates independently, and these devices include golf mats, tee dividers, and golf balls that coordinately improve the driving range business while the advertising space is harmoniously combined. There is no system with a supply device.

  Accordingly, there remains a need for a system that can place removable and replaceable advertisements on golf mats. There also remains a need for a tee divider that incorporates an integrated golf ball supply unit. There also remains a need for an integrated tee divider and golf ball supply device that works in concert with a golf mat with a removable and replaceable advertising portion and has a variety of other functions and benefits. .

  An object of the present invention is to provide an improved golf advertising system having various features and advantages in view of the above problems.

  Examples of the present invention include a golf drive mat having advertisements in a part thereof. An advertisement is any promotional message, display, or advertisement. The advertisement is displayed to be a portion of the mat that is substantially uniform with the rest of the mat. The advertisement is preferably displayed on a removable portion of the mat so that it can be replaced with another portion displaying a different advertisement.

  Various options are conceivable for attaching such removable parts, but suitable means for detachably attaching such parts are envisaged within the scope of the present invention.

  An improved embodiment of the present invention is a golf pitching unit. The golf pitching unit can additionally be used as a tee divider. The golf pitching unit has a surface facing the golfer, and the surface functions as a medium for placing an advertisement. The advertisement is preferably removable and replaceable with other advertisements.

  In another embodiment of the golf ball distribution unit of the present invention, an advertisement or the like displayed on the activation lever itself is employed. In another embodiment, an electronic display panel is employed. The electronic display panel can be used for displaying an advertisement through a visual display. Such an advertisement can be displayed in the form of a still image or a moving image. An audio component or the like may be employed. In other embodiments, still images can be circulated on the display.

  In other implementations, a video camera can be provided in the golf pitching unit. Video cameras can be triggered by golfers or through sensors such as motion sensors and thermal sensors. A video camera is used to record at least a portion of a golfer's swing. The display can be used to display either a swing recording, a swing animation, other swing analysis information, or instructional information related to the swing analysis.

  Also, the golf ball distribution unit can be provided with a reflective surface or mirror whose direction is adjusted so that the golfer can see his swing.

  When combined with the mat of the present invention, the golf pitching unit of the present invention can be a unique system that provides a synergistic advertising effect. In addition, the golf ball distribution unit can supply the golf ball so that the golf ball rolls to an area where an advertisement is present or stops on the area. In this way, attention is focused on the area. Further, in this golf ball distribution unit, the golf ball can be supplied from under the mat through a hole provided in the mat. An integrated seating area and optional beverage holder can also be provided. Furthermore, a plurality of the above units can be integrated and combined via a server or centralized calculation unit that controls the display panel.

  One of the major objectives of the present invention is to effectively show advertisements to golfers when they are concentrated in golf activities. This condition is known as a “zone” in certain sports. In this state, the golfer is enthusiastic about the activity, hardly cares about the surroundings, and is very focused on swinging exercises on the drive mat. When the golfer steps into the driving range, the golfer performs a swing motion. At that time, the golfer always focuses on the grip, swing and finally the ball. While the golfer addresses the ball, the golfer's eyes are on the mat on which the ball is placed. One object of the present invention is to place an advertisement so that it can be accepted by a golfer in such a mental state. In addition, an advertisement placed on the mat can be a “swing line” preferable for a golfer. Moreover, the golf ball supply apparatus that can obtain such a synergistic effect can also display an advertisement on the surface thereof. In such an embodiment, each time a golfer pushes a lever to launch a golf ball, he sees an advertisement on the surface of that lever. This effect has a sufficient impact from an advertising perspective.   The present invention may be embodied in many different forms, and the preferred embodiments of the invention described in detail in the drawings and below are merely illustrative of the principles of the invention and illustrate a wide variety of aspects of the invention. It is not intended to be limited to only the examples.

  The present invention is a golf advertising system. One embodiment of this system includes a golf practice mat 10. The mat 10 is preferably provided with a substantially uniform upper surface 20 suitable for hitting a golf ball, such as artificial turf or other suitable material. A promotional material 30 is disposed on the top surface 20 of the mat 10.

  In another preferred embodiment, the mat 20 is formed from a body portion 40 having a first upper surface 50 and a removable portion 60 having a second upper surface 70. The promotional material 30 is disposed on the second upper surface 70 of the detachable portion 60. Thus, the removable portion 60 can be removed and optionally replaced with a portion having a different promotional item 30. Note that when the portion 60 is attached, the surface 50 and the surface 70 are substantially connected in a continuous manner, and as a result, the upper surface 20 is formed.

  The mat 10 is preferably configured so that the detachable portions 60 can be attached at at least two places such as both side surfaces or both ends. For example, it can be attached to two, three, or four sides. In the case of a mat having more than four side surfaces, such as an octagonal mat, additional side surfaces or locations are optionally constructed in this manner. As a mounting method, a method using a toothed end as shown in FIG. 2 or a method using an array of protrusions and slots as shown in FIGS. 3A and 3B can be considered. Any suitable attachment method can be utilized. In the mounting method using the protrusion and the slot, the protrusion 90 can be inserted into the hole 80. In addition, the protrusion part 90 can be provided in either the main-body part 40 or the removable part 60, and the hole 80 is provided in the part which is not a part in which the protrusion part 90 is provided.

  Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 4, the removable portion 60 can be a corner part such as a triangle. In such a case, a frame portion used by the golfer on the mat 10 can be provided. The triangular portion preferably has an inner pocket portion configured to cover the corner of the body portion 40. One, two, three, or four such triangular portions 60 can be used. The portion 60 can be used in place of or as an additional advertisement for other advertisements.

  In another embodiment of the system, a pitching device 100 for pitching golf balls is provided. In another embodiment, the mat 10 is provided in combination with the pitching device 100. In addition, it is preferable that the present system is configured such that the golf ball distributed from the ball distribution device 100 stops in the advertising area on the mat 10. The advertising area is a peripheral portion of the promotional material 30. Alternatively, as shown in FIG. 13A, the golf ball can be stopped on the promotional material 30 itself, or the golf ball can pass over the promotional material 30 as shown in FIG. 13B. it can.   The pitching device 100 of the present invention preferably has a ball accommodating area 120 for accommodating a plurality of golf balls. The operation lever 110 is provided as a trigger for supplying one of a plurality of golf balls. This ball distribution device 100 can distribute one ball while suppressing the remaining balls by an internal mechanism having a protruding portion. However, any method suitable for golf ball distribution can be utilized in combination with the device and is within the scope of the present invention.

  The pitcher 100 is preferably provided with a promotional item 130 on the surface visible to the golfer. The promotional material 130 is preferably removable so that it can be replaced with another promotional material 130. It should be noted that suitable means necessary to attach such removable promotional material are within the scope of the present invention. An example is a removable panel 140 that is attached to a channel 150, as shown in FIG. The panel 140 may optionally have a plurality of portions each having a removable panel 160 as shown in FIG. In this way, individual advertisements can be placed in each part and can be replaced if necessary.

  Ideally, the pitcher 100 is appropriately sized and configured to function as a tee divider at a driving range. The front surface 170 is angled away from the individual standing in front of the pitching device 100. In one preferred embodiment, the surface is adjusted to an angle of approximately 60-70 degrees from the horizontal plane to deflect the ball in a safe manner. In another preferred embodiment, the pitching device 100 is substantially formed in a triangular prism shape, and the corners are rounded as necessary. A hinge back panel 180 is provided to access the ball storage area 120 and to refill the area with golf balls. The ball distribution apparatus 100 is provided with an integrated seat 300 area where a person can be seated as necessary, and more than one beverage holder 310 can also be provided. In such an embodiment, it is also possible to form a hole 320 for refilling the golf ball. The integrated seating area 300 can be used in combination with either a tee divider, a ball pitching unit, or both.

In another embodiment, the pitching device 100 may include an audio output device 190 so that promotional material can be output, for example, in audio format. In other embodiments, the device 100 has a visual display panel 200. The visual display panel 200 can be any suitable display panel such as a liquid crystal display, other screens or monitors. The visual display panel 200 is ideally protected by a protective cover 210 to prevent damage from golf balls and other impacts. The visual display panel 200 can provide an advertisement in a moving image format, a still image, or text. For example, promotional material may be provided in a form in which still images are circulated in a sequence from one to the other. This visual display may display various output options, such as a swing recording, a swing animation, or various other information resulting from a swing analysis. Alternatively, the start of recording may be made by a golfer operating a switch or lever. In such a case, for example, a lever 270 that can be activated using a golf club is convenient. Once the feedback is displayed, the promotional material can continue to be displayed on the display panel 200.

  In another embodiment of this system, as conceptually shown in FIG. 11, a plurality of pitching devices 100 are connected via a network. The central server, i.e. the computing device 250, controls the output of each pitching device.

  In another useful aspect of the system, as shown in FIGS. 13A and 13B, a reflective surface is provided that is arranged so that the golfer can see his swing. The reflective surface 260 can be a mirror or mirror-like surface, or other surface with sufficient reflective properties so that the golfer can see himself. The reflective surface 260 can be used only in combination with a tee divider or in combination with a golf ball pitcher.

  Additional features and combinations of features are separately contemplated within the scope of the present invention. For example, in one embodiment, the driving range advertising system includes the golf range mat 10 and a piece 60 that is disposed substantially adjacent to the mat 10 whether or not connected. The promotional material 30 is arranged on the surface of the member 60. The surface may be substantially horizontal or inclined upward along the direction of the golfer standing on the mat 10. Next, the space between the mat 10 and the equipment associated with either the tea divider, the pitching unit, or both is used as an advertising stand. The advertising stand will be placed in the space between the mat 10 and the tea divider or pitching device. In this way, the proximity of the advertisement to the golfer allows the golfer to pay more attention to the advertisement than was possible with conventional placement. Ideally, the advertising surface 140 is preferably inclined upwardly toward a golfer standing on the mat. In this way, the golfer is substantially in the peripheral vision of the golfer while concentrating on the tee location. The advertising medium can be a tea divider or a pitching unit or both. In another embodiment, the pitching device may include a golf club head washer 360 integrated within a device having a golf club head insertion slot.

  While specific embodiments have been illustrated and described, numerous modifications can be made without departing significantly from the spirit of the invention, and the scope of protection is limited only by the appended claims.
