-パターン状になっている領域57aに対応する領域を偏光紫外光で露光することで、光配向可能な材料のエン基をお互い露光領域で反応させることで露光領域57aが液晶を面配向させる能力を提供する段階、
有効な量の熱を供給する一方で、非照射領域を露光する段階、非照射領域はオクタデシチオール(octadecylthiol)への非反応性エン基を有し、熱的自由ラジカル開始剤の存在下で、オクタデシチオールはエン基と反応することで、液晶をホメオトロピックに配向させる能力を有する領域57bを形成することを特徴とする段階。

Claims (9)
- 非機械的手段によって可動なフレキシブルホイルであって、
第1ホイル部分及び第2ホイル部分を有し、
各ホイル部分は平坦状態と所定の曲がり方向を有する曲がった状態との間で非機械的に可動であり、
前記の第1ホイル部分の所定の曲がり方向と前記の第2ホイル部分の所定の曲がり方向とは互いに反対方向である、
ことを特徴とするホイル。 - 前記第1ホイル部分及び前記第2ホイル部分のうちの少なくとも1つは高分子材料を含むことを特徴とする、請求項1に記載のホイル。
- 前記高分子材料は重合した液晶を含むことを特徴とする、請求項2に記載のホイル。
- 前記第1ホイル部分及び前記第2ホイル部分のうちの少なくとも1つは重合した液晶を含み、
前記重合した液晶は、前記ホイルの一の主要面近くで異方的に配向し、前記ホイルを横切る方向で配向及び/又は濃度の変化を示す、
ことを特徴とする、請求項3に記載のホイル。 - 前記重合した液晶はスプレイ配向を有し、
前記スプレイ配向は、前記のホイルの一の主要面近くで面配向し、前記一の主要面の反対側に位置する面近くでホメオトロピック配向する、
ことを特徴とする、請求項4に記載のホイル。 - 前記第1ホイル部分及び前記第2ホイル部分のうちの少なくとも1つは放射線照射によって平坦状態と所定の曲がり方向を有する曲がった状態との間で非機械的に可動である、
ことを特徴とする、請求項1,2,3,4又は5に記載のホイル。 - 前記第1ホイル部分及び前記第2ホイル部分のうちの少なくとも1つは、熱の供給若しくは熱の除去又はそれらの組み合わせの手段によって平坦状態と所定の曲がり方向を有する曲がった状態との間で非機械的に可動である、
ことを特徴とする、請求項1,2,3,4又は5に記載のホイル。 - 前記ホイルは前記のホイルの変動に対して固定している構造物に取り付けられる、
ことを特徴とする、請求項1,2,3,4,5,6又は7に記載のホイル。 - 前記ホイルは閉状態と開状態との間を切り替え可能なバルブであることを特徴とする、
請求項8に記載のホイル。
