Abstract

<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a free enclosure for a book in which there are no abrasion, nor breakage of an engagement section, and which inhibits detachment of the loaded book. <P>SOLUTION: The free enclosure for the book comprises a pair of enclosure strips. The first enclosure strip consists of: an abbreviation rectangular cover section; a central tongue section which projects in the direction of engagement from the engagement end; and a side tongue section which separates to its both sides and projects in parallel. The second enclosure strip consists of: a substantially rectangular cover section; and a central tongue section which projects in the direction of the engagement from the engagement end. The central tongue section of the second enclosure strip has a long hole for inserting the central tongue section of the first enclosure strip to be wider than the central tongue section of the first enclosure strip formed in its width direction. A covering piece is extended in a width direction and attached to the outside of the one enclosure strip in the neighborhood of the engagement portion of both the enclosure strips, and a holding piece projects from at least one end of the covering piece in the width direction. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT

Description

  The present invention relates to a universal cover for books, and more particularly, to an improvement of the invention "universal cover for books" disclosed in Japanese Patent Application No. 8-112049 by the present applicant.

  The universal cover of the present invention is composed of a pair of cover pieces. In this specification, an end portion where these cover pieces are assembled to each other is referred to as an “engagement end”, and the direction in which the cover pieces are assembled to each other is referred to as “engagement end”. The direction perpendicular to this is called “width direction”. Regarding the cover, “inside” means the side in contact with the book, and the opposite side is called “outside”.

  In the case of a newly published book, it is generally sold with a decorative cover from the publisher. However, in the case of secondhand books and collections, there is no such cover, so readers make their own covers with appropriate paper and carry them with them.

  By the way, there are books with various dimensional standards such as a library version, a books version, and a general book, but the thickness varies depending on the number of pages even with the same dimensional standard. Therefore, a conventional paper cover made by the conventional method is troublesome because it is necessary to make a separate cover for each thickness.

  The above-mentioned invention of the prior application has been proposed to cope with such a problem.

  The cover of the prior application has a pair of cover pieces, and is constructed by assembling these pair of cover pieces in an overlapping state in the engaging direction.

Since the overall length in the engaging direction is adjusted by changing the degree of polymerization in the engaging portion, it is possible to mount the book on books of various thicknesses.

  However, in the case of the cover of the invention of the prior application, since the engaging portion is partially exposed to the outside of the cover, the engaging portion is likely to be worn and damaged by long-term use. Moreover, it is not preferable in appearance. Further, a book attached to the cover may be detached in the width direction of the cover while moving while being carried.

  In view of the disadvantages of the prior invention, an object of the present invention is to prevent the engagement portion from being worn or damaged and to prevent the attached book from being detached.

  For this reason, the free cover for a book according to the present invention comprises a pair of cover pieces, and the first cover piece is spaced apart from a substantially rectangular front cover portion, a central tongue portion protruding from the engagement end in the engagement direction, and both sides thereof. The second cover piece is composed of a substantially rectangular front cover portion and a central tongue portion projecting in the engaging direction from the engaging end thereof, and the second cover piece. The center tongue portion of the first cover piece is wider than the center tongue portion of the first cover piece, and a long hole is formed in the width direction thereof to pass through the center tongue portion of the first cover piece. The gist is that a cover piece extends in the width direction and is attached to the outside of one cover piece in the vicinity of the portion, and the holding piece protrudes from at least one end in the width direction of the cover piece.

  Since the cover covers the engaging part of the cover, there is no wear or damage to the engaging part, and the holding piece presses the cover of the book against the inside of the cover while the cover is attached to the book. Elimination of books is effectively prevented.

  The disassembled state of the universal cover of the present invention is shown in FIG. This cover is composed of first and second cover pieces 1 and 2. The dimensions in the engagement direction and the width direction of both cover pieces are appropriately set according to need, that is, according to the expected thickness change of the target book of the same size standard.

  The first cover piece 1 has a substantially rectangular cover 1 and a central tongue 12 protruding from the engagement end in the engagement direction. On both sides of the central tongue, a pair of side tongues 13 project in the engagement direction in parallel with the central tongue 12 with a gap 14 therebetween.

  The second cover piece 2 has a substantially square cover portion 21 and a central tongue portion 22 protruding from the engagement end in the engagement direction. The width of the central tongue 22 is preferably slightly larger than the width of the central tongue 12 of the first cover piece 1 and preferably slightly smaller than the distance between the side tongues 13 of the first cover piece 1. . A long hole 23 is formed in the base portion of the central tongue 22 so as to extend in the width direction. The length of the long hole 23 is set such that the central tongue 12 of the first cover piece 1 can be freely inserted.

  FIG. 2 shows a free cover in an assembled state. The central tongue portion 12 of the first cover piece 1 is located on the cover portion 21 through the long hole 23 from below the central tongue portion 22 of the second cover piece 2. Further, both side tongue portions 13 of the first cover piece 1 are positioned on the cover portion 21 of the second cover piece 2. Therefore, by changing the degree of insertion of the central tongue 12 of the first cover piece 1, the length of the entire cover in the engaging direction can be freely adjusted according to the thickness of the book to be mounted.

  In use, the book to be mounted is placed on the free cover in the state shown in FIG. 2, and the end portions 15 and 25 in the engaging direction of both cover pieces 1 and 2 are folded so as to be wrapped on the book. .

  What has been described above is the structure and method of use of the universal cover of the prior invention. Next, the present invention will be described with reference to FIG.

  As shown in FIG. 3, in the present invention, the cover piece 31 has a width on the outside of one cover piece (second cover piece 2 in the illustrated example) in the vicinity of the engaging portion 30 of both cover pieces 1 and 2. The holding piece 32 protrudes from one end in the width direction of the covering piece 31.

  Attachment of the cover piece 31 to the cover piece may be performed by sewing with a sewing machine or the like, or may be performed by sticking with an adhesive or the like. The holding piece 32 may be formed integrally with the cover piece 31, or may be formed separately and stitched to the cover piece 31 with a sewing machine or the like. Further, as shown in FIG. 4, a part of the covering piece 31 may be formed in an arc shape. Further, the holding piece 32 may protrude from both ends of the covering piece 31 in the width direction.

  In use, after the cover is mounted on the book as described above, the holding piece 32 is placed along the cover piece so as to cover the engaging portion 30 as indicated by the arrow in FIG. What is necessary is just to insert between the cover piece 1 and the book to mount | wear.
