本取付け式開閉弁7の装着は、固定具8の使用とともに旧来のゴム弾性弁を有する臭気防止装置に適用され、旧来の臭気防止装置の再使用が実施される。
また、本臭気防止装置Sを設置した汚水ますは、建物内からの汚水流入管を有する外は図7と実質的に同一構成をなし、その蓋部102は旧来の密閉型と異なり、集水孔102aを有するものが使用され、場合によってはグレーチングの使用も可能である。そして、この汚水ますでは臭気の外部への逸出が防止されるとともに、降雨において集水がなされ、地域での集水機能の増大化に寄与し、画期的である。
