Abstract

Claims (4)
- 進行波グリッドシステムであって、
第1の進行波グリッドと、
前記第1のグリッドの下流にある第2の進行波グリッドと、
前記第1の進行波グリッドと前記第2の進行波グリッドとの間を延びる、複数のアーチ形トレースを含んだ移行領域と、
を含んでおり、
前記移行領域が、前記第1のグリッドから前記第2のグリッドへと粒子ストリームを輸送し、かつ前記粒子ストリームの収束を引き起こすように適合されることを特徴とする進行波グリッドシステム。 - 複数の粒子のサンプルからサイズに応じて粒子を区別する方法であって、
第1の進行波グリッドと第2の進行波グリッドとを含んだ進行波グリッドシステムを提供するステップを含んでおり、
前記第1および第2の進行波グリッドが互いに対してある角度を成すように向けられており、
前記角度が約10°〜約170°にわたっており、
前記方法がさらに、
様々なサイズの粒子を含んだサンプルを前記第1の進行波グリッド上に導入するステップと、
前記進行波グリッドシステムを操作し、それによって前記粒子を前記第1および第2の進行波グリッドに沿って輸送するステップと、
を含んでおり、
前記粒子が、前記第1および第2の進行波グリッドの角度配向に対応する方向変化を起こすと、前記粒子のサイズに応じて少なくとも2つの群に分かれることを特徴とする方法。 - 複数の粒子のサンプルからサイズに応じて粒子を区別する方法であって、
進行波グリッドに印加される電圧信号の掃引周波数を選択的に調節する準備を含めて、前記進行波グリッドを提供するステップと、
様々なサイズの粒子を含んだサンプルを前記進行波グリッド上に導入するステップと、
第1のサイズの粒子がそれによって前記グリッドのある領域から別の領域へと変位する第1の掃引周波数で、前記グリッドを操作するステップと、
前記第1のサイズとは異なる第2のサイズの粒子がそれによって前記グリッドのある領域から別の領域へと変位する、前記第1の掃引周波数とは異なる第2の掃引周波数で、前記グリッドを操作するステップと、
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - サンプルから粒子を除去かつ分類するように適合された精製セルであって、
第1の進行波グリッドを含んだ濃縮チャンバと、
第2の進行波グリッドを含んだ分離チャンバと、
前記第1の進行波グリッドと前記第2の進行波グリッドとの間を延びる、第3の進行波グリッドを含んだ集束チャネルと、
を含んでおり、
前記第2および第3の進行波グリッドが互いに対して約10°〜約170°の角度に向けられており、
前記分離チャンバには、さらに、様々なサイズの粒子を受け取るように適合された複数の区画が含まれており、
前記複数の区画が前記第2の進行波グリッドをまたいで整列していることを特徴とする精製セル。
