図1から図7に示すように、この発明の車止め装置は、樹脂により一体成形された車止め本体1と、車止め本体1上に平行に配されたロック可能ローラ2およびフリー回転ローラ3と、ロック手段4とからなり、車の駆動輪Wは、ロック可能ローラ2とフリー回転ローラ3との間上に乗る。

なお、この発明の車止め装置を駐車場に設置する場合、同じものを2つ設置しても良いが、図8に示すように、外形が車止め本体1と同一形状の別の車止め12を作り、これをこの発明の車止め装置と併設しても良い。この別の車止め12は、車止め本体1と同様に、樹脂により一体成形しても良い。
このように構成されている、この発明の車止め装置によれば、以下のようにして、駐車および発車が行われる。
先ず、駐車する場合には、鍵10を爪出し入れ手段9の鍵孔9Aに差し込み、半時計方向に回転させる。これによって、爪8がギヤ7の歯に噛み込んでロック可能ローラ2はロックされる。これによって、車の駆動輪Wは、ロック可能ローラ2とフリー回転ローラ3との間上に乗り上げることができ、駐車が完了する。
この場合、駆動輪Wは、案内用傾斜部1Aにより案内されるので、円滑に両ローラ2、3間に乗る。例え、駆動輪Wが行き過ぎても、乗越え阻止用段部1Bにより脱輪の恐れはない。
