Description

The present invention relates to a backlight device used in a liquid crystal display device represented by, for example, a liquid crystal television, and more particularly to a backlight device in which a lamp holder that holds a fluorescent tube is improved.

A backlight device used in a liquid crystal display device typified by a liquid crystal television is provided with a lamp holder having a grip portion for gripping a fluorescent tube. An opening for inserting the fluorescent tube is formed in the grip portion of the lamp holder.
For example, the backlight device (backlight assembly) of the liquid crystal display device disclosed in Patent Document 1 is provided with a lamp holder (lamp fixing plate) having a plurality of grip portions for gripping a plurality of fluorescent tubes. Each of the gripping portions of the lamp holder is used as an electrode for transmitting electric power to an external electrode provided on the outer periphery of the fluorescent tube.
Here, the shape of the lamp holder Z known in the art (see, for example, Patent Document 1) will be described with reference to FIG. FIG. 5 is a view for explaining the mounting operation of the fluorescent tube 103 to the conventionally known lamp holder Z.
As shown in FIGS. 5A to 5C, the lamp holder Z includes a plurality of grip portions 122 in which openings 121 for fitting the fluorescent tubes 103 are formed, and a connection for connecting the plurality of grip portions 122. Part 123. Here, the opening 121 is formed so as to face vertically upward when a main body housing of a backlight device (not shown) that supports the lamp holder Z is laid down (see FIGS. 5A and 5B). Has been. Therefore, the opening 121 is oriented in the horizontal direction when the main body casing is upright (see FIG. 5C).
In general, on the line for attaching the fluorescent tube 103 to the lamp holder Z configured as described above, as shown in FIGS. 5 (a) and 5 (b), the main body housing is transported in a laid state. In this state, since the fluorescent tube is mounted, the fluorescent tube 103 is inserted into the grip portion 122 from above in the vertical direction.
JP 2004-247277 A

By the way, in the conventional assembly method in which the fluorescent tube 103 is attached to the lamp holder Z while the main body housing supporting the lamp holder Z is laid down as described above, depending on the size of the main body housing. , It may be necessary for the worker to reach out and work in an unnatural posture. In particular, in recent years, the backlight device has been increased in size with the increase in the size of the liquid crystal display device. The problem is that work efficiency deteriorates due to forced work in posture and the need for more workers.

On the other hand, in the conventional method, it is necessary to secure a working space where the main body housing can be laid on the production line of the backlight device. Therefore, it is also a problem that the working space of the production line needs to be expanded as the backlight device becomes larger. For example, there is a problem that a production line for producing a conventional small backlight device cannot be used as a production line for a large backlight device in recent years.
Here, if the assembling work of the backlight device is performed in a state in which the main body casing is upright, the mounting space of the main body casing at the time of the work can be reduced, and the working space can be saved.
However, in the state in which the main body casing of the conventionally known backlight device is upright, the opening 121 of the grip portion 122 of the lamp holder Z faces in the horizontal direction as shown in FIG. Therefore, when the fluorescent tube 103 is inserted into the grip portion 122 of the lamp holder Z, a horizontal load may act on the grip portion 122, and the main body housing may be tilted. For this reason, it is necessary to perform the mounting operation of the fluorescent tube 103 to the lamp holder Z in a state in which the main body housing is firmly fixed or to increase the number of workers, and the problem that the working efficiency is still poor remains.
Accordingly, the present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to improve the workability of the assembly work of the backlight device and to reduce the work space necessary for the assembly work. It is in.

In order to achieve the above object, the present invention provides one or a plurality of fluorescent tubes that are illuminated by power supply from a predetermined power source and an opening for fitting the fluorescent tubes, thereby holding the fluorescent tubes. Alternatively, the present invention is applied to a backlight device including a lamp holder having a plurality of gripping portions and a substantially plate-like support member that supports the lamp holder, wherein the opening is substantially the support member. It is formed so as to face in a substantially vertical direction in an upright state.
In the assembling operation of the backlight device according to the present invention configured as described above, the fluorescent tube is attached to the grip portion of the lamp holder supported by the support member from a substantially vertical direction while the support member is substantially upright. It becomes possible to insert. For this reason, when the fluorescent tube is inserted into the grip portion, a load in a vertically upward direction or a vertically downward direction acts on the grip portion. In other words, no load acts on the support member in the horizontal direction, that is, in the direction in which the support member tilts. Thereby, it is not necessary to firmly fix the support member or increase the number of workers, and the efficiency of the assembly work can be improved. Of course, as described above, the assembly work can be saved by performing the assembly work with the support member substantially upright.
Further, in particular, when the opening is formed so as to face substantially vertically upward with the support member substantially upright, the fluorescent tube is moved downward from the vertically upward direction. The fluorescent tube can be inserted into the gripping portion, and the workability is good. For example, since the fluorescent tube can be temporarily placed on the edge of the opening, the operation is easy.

By the way, the grip portion transmits electric power from the predetermined power source to an external electrode provided on the outer periphery in the vicinity of both ends of the fluorescent tube, and the lamp holder electrically connects a plurality of the grip portions. In a backlight device having a connecting portion to be connected, AC power is supplied from the predetermined power source to the connecting portion of the lamp holder, so that the AC power is supplied to each gripping portion via the connecting portion. It is distributed to the external electrode of the gripped fluorescent tube. Therefore, there is no difference in the AC power supplied to each of the fluorescent tubes, so that the illuminance does not vary among the plurality of fluorescent tubes.
By applying the present invention to such a backlight device, the mounting operation of the fluorescent tube to the lamp holder having a grip portion for gripping the external electrode of the fluorescent tube can be performed with the support member substantially upright. It can be easily performed.

Note that the present invention may be regarded as an invention of a liquid crystal display device including the backlight device.
Further, the present invention can be understood as the invention of the lamp holder. That is, the present invention is applied to a lamp holder having one or a plurality of grip portions for gripping the fluorescent tubes, in which openings for inserting one or a plurality of fluorescent tubes to be illuminated by power supply from a predetermined power source are formed. And the said opening is formed so that it may face in a substantially vertical direction in the state by which the substantially plate-shaped support member which supports the said lamp holder was standing substantially upright.
Furthermore, the present invention can be understood as a method for assembling the backlight device. That is, the present invention holds the support member in a substantially upright state, and inserts the fluorescent tube into the grip portion of the lamp holder supported by the support member from a substantially vertical direction. It may be understood as a method for assembling the device. Thus, by performing the assembly operation of the backlight device in a state in which the support member is substantially upright, particularly the workability of the assembly operation of a large-sized backlight device can be improved. In addition, the work space for the assembly work can be saved.

According to the present invention, it is possible to fit the fluorescent tube from a substantially vertical direction into the grip portion of the lamp holder supported by the support member while holding the support member substantially upright. When the fluorescent tube is inserted into the portion, a load does not act on the support member in the horizontal direction, so there is no need to firmly fix the support member or increase the number of workers, and the efficiency of the assembly work Can be improved. Further, by performing the assembly work with the support member substantially upright, the work space for the assembly work can be saved.
In particular, when the opening is formed so as to face substantially vertically upward with the support member being substantially upright, for example, the fluorescent tube is moved from vertically upward to downward. Thus, when the fluorescent tube is fitted into the grip portion, the fluorescent tube can be temporarily placed on the edge of the opening, and the workability is good.

Hereinafter, embodiments and examples of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings so that the present invention can be understood. It should be noted that the following embodiments and examples are examples embodying the present invention, and do not limit the technical scope of the present invention.
Here, FIG. 1 is a schematic configuration diagram of a liquid crystal display device A according to an embodiment of the present invention, FIG. 2 is a component diagram of a lamp holder Y, FIG. 3 is a diagram for explaining an assembly method of a backlight device X, FIG. 4 is a schematic configuration diagram of a liquid crystal display device A ′ according to an embodiment of the present invention.
First, a liquid crystal display device A according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS. FIG. 1 shows a state in which a liquid crystal panel 4 and an insulating cover 13 (to be described later) are removed from the liquid crystal display device A.
As shown in FIG. 1, the liquid crystal display device A includes a liquid crystal panel 4 on which an image is displayed based on a video signal input from the outside, and a liquid crystal panel 4 disposed behind the liquid crystal panel 4 behind the liquid crystal panel 4. And a backlight device X for illuminating from. Although not shown, the liquid crystal display device A is integrated with a video processing unit for performing predetermined video processing on an externally input video signal and displaying an image on the liquid crystal panel 4 and the liquid crystal display device A. And a control unit for controlling the power supply, an inverter power supply device (an example of a predetermined power supply) for supplying predetermined AC power to the backlight device X, and the like. Since this point is not particularly different from the conventional apparatus, the description thereof is omitted here.
The liquid crystal display device A according to the present embodiment is characterized by the shape of a lamp holder Y described later provided in the backlight device X. Hereinafter, the back lamp device X will be described in detail.

As shown in FIG. 1, the backlight device X includes a plurality of fluorescent tubes 3 that are illuminated by power supply from the inverter power supply device (not shown), a lamp holder Y that holds the plurality of fluorescent tubes 3, And a main body housing 11 (an example of a support member) that supports the lamp holder Y.
The fluorescent tube 3 is an external electrode type fluorescent tube having external electrodes 31 at both ends for receiving power supply from the inverter power supply device (not shown).
The lamp holder Y is supported by the main body casing 11 by being fixed to an attachment base 12 provided on a plate-like back surface 11a with an insulating member 12a interposed. The main body casing 11 is held in an upright state by legs 14 provided on the main body casing 11. The mounting base 12 is provided with an insulating cover 13 for covering the lamp holder Y.

Here, the lamp holder Y will be described in detail with reference to FIG.
As shown in FIG. 2, the lamp holder Y is provided with a plurality of grip portions 22 each having an opening 21 for fitting the fluorescent tube 3. The grip portion 22 is made of a conductive metal or the like so as to transmit power supplied from the inverter power supply device (not shown) to the external electrode 31 (see FIG. 1) of the fluorescent tube 3.
Each of the gripping portions 22 is electrically connected to a connecting portion 23 made of conductive metal or the like by welding or the like. Further, the grip portion 22 may be integrally formed with the connecting portion 23. For example, the grip portion 22 can be formed by cutting and raising a part of the connecting portion 23. Further, the connecting portion 23 is connected to the inverter power supply device (not shown).
In the backlight device X having the lamp holder Y configured as described above, the AC power is supplied to the connecting portion 23 from the inverter power supply device (not shown), so that the AC power is supplied to the connecting portion 23. To the external electrode 31 of the fluorescent tube 3 held by each of the holding portions 22. Therefore, in the backlight device X, there is no difference in the AC power supplied to the plurality of fluorescent tubes 3, so that there is no illuminance variation in the plurality of fluorescent tubes 3. The external electrode 31, the grip portion 22, and the connecting portion 23 to which AC power is applied are insulated from other components except the inverter power supply device (not shown) by the insulating member 12a and the insulating cover 13. Has been.

In addition, the opening 21 of the gripping portion 22 of the lamp holder Y is formed so as to face approximately vertically upward in a state where the main body casing 11 is substantially upright (see FIG. 1). In other words, the opening 21 is formed to face in the horizontal direction in a state where the main body housing 11 is laid down. Note that the direction of the opening 21 in the state in which the main body casing 11 is substantially upright may be a vertically upward direction or a vertically downward direction as long as it is a substantially vertical direction, and has a slight inclination. It doesn't matter.

Here, with reference to FIG. 3, an assembling method of the backlight device X having the lamp holder Y, in particular, an example of an operation of attaching the fluorescent tube 3 to the lamp holder Y will be described.
First, the worker erects the main body casing. The main body casing 11 is held in a substantially upright state by the leg portions 14. At this time, as shown in FIG. 3, the opening 21 of the grip portion 22 of the lamp holder Y supported by the main body housing 11 is directed vertically upward.
Then, the operator can insert the fluorescent tube 3 into the grip portion 22 simply by moving the fluorescent tube 3 downward from the vertical direction (in the direction of the arrow in the drawing) and passing the opening 21. At this time, since the opening 21 is directed vertically upward, the fluorescent tube 3 can be temporarily placed on the edge of the opening 21 and the operation is easy.
As described above, the assembly operation of the backlight device X is performed while maintaining the main body housing 11 in a substantially upright state, thereby performing the assembly operation with the main body housing 11 lying down. Compared to the method, the work space can be saved. In addition, as described above, since the worker is not forced to take an unnatural posture, the work efficiency is also good.
Further, when the fluorescent tube 3 is inserted into the grip portion 22, a load in the vertically downward direction acts on the grip portion 22 unlike the conventional case. That is, no load acts on the main body casing 11 in the horizontal direction, that is, the direction in which the main body casing 11 tilts. Thereby, it is not necessary to firmly fix the main body casing 11 or increase the number of workers, and the efficiency of assembly work can be improved.

Next, a liquid crystal display device A ′ according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIG. In addition, the same code | symbol is attached | subjected to the component similar to the said liquid crystal display device A (refer FIG. 1) demonstrated in the said embodiment, and the description is abbreviate | omitted.
As shown in FIG. 4, the backlight device X ′ of the liquid crystal display device A ′ has a predetermined distance between both ends of the fluorescent tube 3 in addition to the lamp holder Y that holds the external electrode 31 of the fluorescent tube 3. A plurality of lamp holders Y ′ are provided to hold the fluorescent tube 3 at positions at intervals of. As a result, in the liquid crystal display device A ′, even if the fluorescent tube 3 becomes longer as the size of the device increases, the fluorescent light 3 is held without being bent. Is prevented from blurring.
Here, since the number of places where the fluorescent tube 3 is held increases due to the addition of the lamp holder Y ′, the assembly work of the backlight device X ′, particularly the lamp holders Y and Y ′ of the fluorescent tube 3 is performed. There is a concern that the workability of the mounting work of the lowering.
However, in the liquid crystal display device A ′, the opening 21 ′ of the gripping portion 22 ′ of the lamp holder Y ′ has the main body casing 11 upright like the opening 21 of the gripping portion 22 of the lamp holder Y. In the state, it is formed so as to face vertically upward (see FIG. 4). Therefore, the operator can easily attach the fluorescent tube 3 to the lamp holders Y and Y ′ by moving the fluorescent tube 3 downward from the vertical upper direction of the lamp holders Y and Y ′. . At this time, as described above, since no horizontal load acts on the main body casing 11, the main body casing is prevented from being tilted. Further, since the fluorescent tube 3 can be temporarily placed on the edge of the opening 21 and the edge of the opening 21 ', the workability is excellent.
In this case, since it is not necessary to energize the grip portion 22 ′ of the lamp holder Y ′ and the connecting portion 23 ′ that connects the grip portion 22 ′, the grip portion 22 ′
Alternatively, the connecting portion 23 ′ may be made of a non-conductive member such as a resin having no conductivity. Of course, the insulating cover 13 need not be provided.
In the present embodiment, the opening 21 ′ of the lamp holder Y ′ has been described as being opened vertically upward with the main body casing 11 standing upright. It may be opened vertically downward in a state where the is upright. It is also possible to use a combination of these. If the opening 21 'is directed vertically downward, the fluorescent tube 3 cannot be temporarily placed on the edge of the opening 21', but the downward light of the fluorescent tube 3 is blocked. As a result, there is little decrease in the amount of downward light.
