これらは次のような欠点があった。
（イ）使い捨てコップの使用における現状は単に機能としてのものが大半を占め、感情的な楽しさに欠けている傾向があった。
（ロ）また、絵柄により美的に装飾をした場合でも使用者にとってそれ以上のアトラクション性がないのが現状であった。
（ハ）使い捨てコップの表面への表示ということでは広告情報、パーティ情報、ゲームの表示などしかなかった。
（ニ）使い捨てコップでも占い情報を二重カップで内部に表示しようする試みはあったが、二重構造にするためコストが嵩む、使用者が情報に接する際に表面部分を剥離せねばならず手間がかかる、という欠点があった。
（ホ）占い情報の表示に関して使用者が容易に享受できるものは、自動販売機の缶を対象としたものしかなかった。これらは缶専用自動販売機という限定された範囲での一般消費者へのエンタテイメント性の提供しかできなかった。
（ヘ）コーヒーカップ、湯飲みを使用した占い情報の提供の考案はあったが、これらは使い捨てコップの一期一会性（使用者は通常使い捨てコップを使用するのは一度だけである。）を享受できず、繰り返し常時使用されることが想定される容器を対象としている。その為、使用者が接する情報が限られるので、表示されている情報をすぐに覚えてしまいエンタテイメント性がすぐなくなるという欠点があった。These have the following drawbacks.
