Description

  The present invention relates to a label feeder for a printer, and more particularly to a label feeder for a printer that can be externally attached to a commercially available printer and does not take up a large work space during work and has a small occupation area.

  In general, printer labels are commercially available in which rectangular labels are bonded in the vertical and horizontal directions on the surface of a mount (separator). Such a printer label can be printed by a commercially available personal computer printer.

  However, in the case of a business label, it is a label roll in which a large number of labels are laminated in a row on a long mount and wound into a roll, and cannot be loaded into a commercially available printer.

Therefore, a printer is known that is loaded with such a label roll so that printing can be performed. In this label printer, a label roll is loaded inside the label printer so that the label can be printed (see Patent Document 1).

  However, the above-described label printer of Patent Document 1 can mount a label roll inside the printer, but cannot store a large-diameter label in which a number of labels are bonded together like a product label in the label printer.   On the other hand, when affixing a printed label to a large number of products, print on a predetermined label in advance and wind it up on the take-up roll side. It is efficient to paste.

  However, when the label roll, the printer main body, and the take-up roll are arranged in a straight line in the arrangement direction of the labels as described above, there is a problem that a work space becomes large and a wide space is required.

  Although it is conceivable that the label roll is arranged on the upper part of the housing of the printer, there is a problem that when the lid is opened, the label roll hits the lid and the lid cannot be opened.

  The present invention has been made paying attention to such a problem, and an object of the present invention is to provide a label feeder for a printer that can perform printing on a label roll and can reduce a work space.

  In order to solve the above-mentioned problems, a label feeder for a printer according to the present invention is used in a printer in which a label printing unit is provided inside a housing, and a label roll obtained by pasting the label on a mount and winding it in a roll shape, A holding member supported above the housing is provided, and the holding member is attached to a lid member of the housing.

  The printing unit of the printer 2 includes a platen roller (not shown) that supports paper to be printed, a print head (not shown), and a mechanism for supplying paper between the platen roller and the print head.   The flange portion 15F on the front side of the bearing members 14, 14 is fixed to the connecting plate 8 with screws. Two sets of upper and lower screw holes are formed in the vicinity of both ends of the first connecting plate 8 and at the same height in order to attach the bearing members 14 and 14. Two or more of these screw holes may be formed in the lateral direction, and the fixing positions of the bearing members 14 and 14 may be changeable according to the width of the label roll 12 to be mounted.   The pair of bearing members 14 and 14 are provided with rollers 16A and 16B for guiding the label paper 12A of the label roll 12. The label paper 12A is guided by rollers 16A and 16B, inserted into the paper feed opening 6, and sent between the print head and the platen roller so as to be printed.

  In this embodiment, a winding roller (not shown) is provided on the paper discharge port side of the printer 2. The take-up roller winds the printed label paper 12A and winds it again in a roll.
