Description

The present invention is mounted on the lower surface side of the vehicle body on the front side of the front wheel of the vehicle and accommodates an inflatable airbag so that it can be prevented from being caught from the front side of the pedestrian during operation. It is related with the airbag apparatus for pedestrians of the structure which arrange | positions the inflated airbag between.

Conventionally, in a pedestrian airbag device mounted on a vehicle, the airbag is folded and stored in a bumper or the like at the front end of the vehicle body, and when in operation, an inflation gas is caused to flow into the airbag to store the airbag. It is made to protrude from the front side of the vehicle body (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 and 2).

In some cases, an inflated airbag is disposed between the vehicle body and the road surface (see, for example, Patent Document 3).
JP-A-6-239198 JP-A-9-164906 JP 7-277114 A

However, in the conventional pedestrian airbag device in which the inflated airbag is disposed on the front side of the vehicle body, the inflated airbag is separated from the road surface so that the lower surface of the inflated airbag is lifted, and there is a gap between the airbag and the road surface. If this occurs, there is a risk that a pedestrian who has fallen may enter the vehicle body from the gap. Therefore, in order to prevent the pedestrian from getting caught on the lower surface side (front wheel side) of the front end of the vehicle body, There was room.

In order to deal with this problem, as described in Patent Document 3, it is conceivable that a configuration in which an inflated airbag is disposed between the vehicle body lower surface on the rear wheel side and the road surface is made to correspond to the front wheel side.

However, even if the airbag is simply configured to protrude downward from the lower surface side of the front end portion of the vehicle body and the expanded airbag is disposed between the front end portion of the vehicle body and the road surface, the airbag has expanded. The upper end side is only held on the vehicle body side, and if the lower end side of the airbag moves backward at the time of contact with the pedestrian, there is a risk that the pedestrian may go through the lower surface side of the airbag. .

Especially in trucks equipped with large tires, the gap between the front end of the vehicle body and the road surface becomes large, so even if the pedestrian's pressing force acting on the lower end of the airbag is small, the airbag The moment to rotate the rearward is increased, and the above problem is likely to occur.

The present invention solves the above-described problems, and restricts rearward movement of the lower end of the airbag even if an inflated airbag is disposed so as to close the space between the lower surface of the front end of the vehicle body and the road surface. An object of the present invention is to provide a pedestrian airbag device that can prevent a pedestrian from entering the lower surface of the airbag.

In the airbag device for a walking vehicle according to the present invention, it is mounted on the lower surface side of the vehicle body on the front side of the front wheel of the vehicle,
An airbag that inflates so as to close the space between the lower surface of the front end of the vehicle body and the road surface so as to prevent entrainment from the front side of the pedestrian during inflow of the inflation gas;
A case having a projecting opening on the lower surface side capable of storing and holding a folded airbag and projecting the airbag when inflated to the road surface side;
A pedestrian airbag device comprising:
The airbag is configured to include a main body bag portion that expands so as to close a space from the opening for projection to the road surface, and an auxiliary bag portion that is disposed on the rear surface side of the main body bag portion,
The auxiliary bag portion is disposed so as to protrude downward from the rear edge side of the protrusion opening when the inflation is completed, and to bring the front surface on the lower end side into contact with at least the upper side of the rear surface of the main body bag portion. It is characterized by.

In the pedestrian airbag apparatus according to the present invention, when the inflation gas flows into the airbag during operation and the airbag projects from the projecting opening of the case to complete the inflation, the main body bag portion projects. The expansion is completed so as to block the space from the opening to the road surface, and the auxiliary bag portion completes the expansion on the rear surface side of the main body bag portion. And an auxiliary bag part makes the front surface of a lower end side contact at least the upper part side of the rear surface of a main part bag part.

In this case, the moment for moving the lower end side of the main body bag portion backward is located above the lower end side of the main body bag portion, which is the pressing force that pushes backward acting on the lower end side, and the point of action where the pressing force acts. It is the product of the distance to the fulcrum of the main body bag part. In the airbag according to the present invention, the fulcrum portion on the upper end side that supports the main body bag portion when the moment is applied is not in the vicinity of the rear edge of the opening for protrusion of the case, but the front surface on the lower end side of the auxiliary bag portion abuts. Thus, the upper portion of the rear surface of the main body bag portion is positioned below the rear edge of the protrusion opening. That is, in the airbag according to the present invention, the fulcrum portion of the main body bag portion when the moment is applied is lowered downward by the auxiliary bag portion protruding downward from the protruding opening as compared with the airbag without the auxiliary bag portion. It becomes the position. Therefore, when the pedestrian comes into contact with the lower end side of the front surface of the main body bag portion so as to go from the front side to the rear side, the backward moving moment acting on the main body bag portion even if the pedestrian has the same pressing force. Is smaller as the fulcrum is lowered than an airbag without an auxiliary bag portion. As a result, in the airbag according to the present invention, the rigidity (shape holding force) of the main body bag portion itself at the time of completion of inflation makes it possible to counter the pedestrian's pressing force and restrict the rearward movement of the main body bag portion. Thus, it is possible to prevent a pedestrian from entering the lower surface side of the main body bag portion.

Therefore, in the pedestrian airbag device according to the present invention, even if an airbag inflated so as to close the space between the lower surface of the front end of the vehicle body and the road surface is disposed, the rearward movement of the airbag lower end side is restricted. Thus, it is possible to prevent a pedestrian from entering the lower surface side of the airbag.

Since the movement restriction of the main body bag portion can be performed by the auxiliary bag portion itself that inflates in the same manner as the main body bag portion by flowing in the inflation gas, a member that supports the main body bag portion, for example, the main body bag portion It is not necessary to use a support plate that has rigidity to support the rear side when inflated, and to project the support plate, etc., when the body bag part is inflated. With such a configuration, the main body bag portion can be supported and pedestrians can be prevented from entering the lower surface of the airbag.

In addition, it is possible to prevent the pedestrian from being caught on the front wheel side without covering the space between the lower surface of the front end of the vehicle body and the road surface with an airbag having a wide width in the front-rear direction. As an inflator that supplies inflation gas to the airbag, it is not necessary to use an inflator with a larger output than necessary, and the inflator can be reduced in size and weight, and the weight of the airbag device can be reduced. It is also possible to make it easier.

Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. A pedestrian airbag apparatus S according to the embodiment is mounted on a truck V as a vehicle, as shown in FIGS. It is mounted on the lower surface side of the front end 1a of the vehicle body (body) 1 on the front side of the front wheels 6,6. These front wheels 6 and 6 are disposed so that they can be braked and steered. 1 and 2 are a front bumper, and a member 8 is a spoiler. These members are attached to the frame 2 on the body 1 side using a bracket (not shown). .

Further, the front-rear, up-down, left-right directions in this specification are made to correspond to the front-rear, up-down, left-right directions of the vehicle V, with the straight direction of the vehicle V being the forward direction. Yes.

1 to 7, the pedestrian airbag device S includes an airbag 10, an inflator 42 that supplies inflation gas to the airbag 10, and a case 32 that stores and holds the folded airbag 10 and the inflator 42. And the cover 40 which covers the lower surface side of the folded airbag 10 is comprised.

Note that the frame 2 of the vehicle V is formed of two parallel rigid metal members disposed along the front-rear direction at the connection portion of the airbag apparatus S, and each of the cases of the airbag apparatus S. 32 is fixed to the bolt 4 and the nut 3 to fix the airbag device S.

The pedestrian airbag device S has a sensor (not shown) for detecting the approach of the pedestrian disposed at a predetermined position of the bumper 7, and a control device (not shown) to which a signal from the sensor is input is provided by the pedestrian. When a collision with the vehicle V is predicted, the inflator 42 is operated to supply the inflation gas to the airbag 10.

In the case of the embodiment, a plurality (four in the embodiment) of inflators 42 are used and arranged along the left-right direction. Each inflator 42 includes a columnar main body portion 42a having a plurality of gas discharge ports 42b on the lower end side, and a substantially square plate-like flange portion 42c projects from the outer peripheral surface of the main body portion 42a. Each flange portion 42c is formed with an attachment hole 42d through which each bolt 26a of the retainer 26 is inserted at each of the four corners.

The case 32 is made of a box-shaped sheet metal having an opening at the bottom, a ceiling wall portion 33 disposed substantially in the horizontal direction, and a cylindrical side wall extending downward from the entire outer periphery of the ceiling wall portion 33. And a unit 38. The opening on the lower surface side of the case 32 surrounded by the side wall portion 38 is a projecting opening 32a from which the airbag 10 is inflated.

The planar shape of the ceiling wall 33 includes a rectangular central portion 33a extending in the left-right direction, and rectangular left and right side portions 33b and 33c extending diagonally rearward from the left and right sides of the central portion 33a. It is prepared for. A connecting hole 37 penetrating in the vertical direction is disposed in front of and behind the boundary between the left and right side portions 33b and 33c in the central portion 33a. Bolts 4 for connecting and fixing the case 32 to the frame 2 are inserted through these connection holes 37.

In addition, a plurality of (four in the case of the embodiment) insertion holes 34 that are opened in a circular shape are arranged in the center portion 33a of the ceiling wall portion 33 along the left-right direction. A cylindrical main body 42a of the inflator 42 is inserted into each insertion hole 34 from above. At the periphery of each insertion hole 34, four mounting holes 35 are vertically penetrated. Each inflator 42 is attached to these attachment holes 35 from the upper surface side of the ceiling wall portion 33, and the attachment wall portion 13 of the airbag 10 having the opening 14 is attached from the lower surface side of the ceiling wall portion 33. Each bolt 26a of the retainer 26 is inserted.

Each retainer 26 is configured as a substantially square ring having a hole through which the main body 42a of the inflator 42 can be inserted, and is provided with bolts 26a extending upward at the four corners. And the retainer 26 fixes the mounting wall part 13 and the inflator 42 of the airbag 10 to the ceiling wall part 33 as mentioned above using the volt | bolt 26a and the nut 27 fastened to the volt | bolt 26a. Playing a role.

Further, a plurality of attachment holes 36 for fixing the attachment reinforcing portion 16 of the airbag 10 to the lower surface side of the ceiling wall portion 33 are formed on the front edge side of the ceiling wall portion 33. Bolts 29 are inserted into the respective mounting holes 36 together with the respective mounting holes 16a of the mounting reinforcing portion 16, and the nuts 30 are fastened to the bolts 29, so that the mounting reinforcing portion 16 of the airbag 10 becomes the airbag. It is attached and fixed to the ceiling wall 33 in a state of being arranged at a position on the front side from the attachment hole 15F on the front edge side of the ten openings 14.

In addition, in the state which has arrange | positioned the attachment reinforcement part 16 of the airbag 10 (main body bag part 11) in the position of the front side rather than the attachment hole 15F of the front edge side of each opening 14 of the airbag 10, it attaches to the ceiling wall part 33. The reason for mounting and fixing is to prevent gas leakage from the periphery of the opening 14 when the airbag apparatus S is in operation. That is, as shown in FIG. 10, when the main body bag portion 11 that has been inflated contacts the lower surface 11 e with the road surface GL, and the truck V is moving forward in this state, the main body bag portion 11 The lower surface 11e is pulled rearward due to the frictional resistance, and if there is no attachment reinforcing portion 16 as an attachment portion to the ceiling wall portion 33, the tensile force T (see FIG. 10) directly acts on the peripheral portion of the mounting hole 15F on the front edge side of the opening 14 of the mounting wall portion 13, and the portion may be broken or extended to cause gas leakage from the vicinity of the mounting hole 15F. This happens. However, if the attachment site | part to the ceiling wall part 33 of the main body bag part 11, ie, the attachment reinforcement part 16, is arrange | positioned in the front side of each attachment hole 15F, the frictional resistance with the road surface GL in the main body bag part 11 will be provided. The attachment reinforcing portion 16 secured to the bolt 29 can counter the rearward pulling force T due to the above, and gas leakage from the vicinity of the attachment hole 15F can be prevented. Of course, the attachment reinforcing portion 16 itself is not a part that inflates when inflating gas is introduced, so that no gas leakage occurs even if the peripheral edge of the attachment hole 16a extends or breaks.

Incidentally, such a tensile force T that pulls the front edge side of the opening 14 of the main body bag portion 11 backward is also in front of the main body bag portion 11 even when it interferes with a pedestrian after the expansion of the main body bag portion 11 is completed. This may occur because tension is generated on the surface of the wall portion 17.

Further, a flange portion 38a that extends outward in a substantially horizontal direction is formed at the lower end of the side wall portion 38 of the case 32, and a fixing means such as a clip or a bolt (not shown) is used for the flange portion 38a. The cover 40 is fixed.

The cover 40 is formed of a synthetic resin or the like, and is disposed so as to cover the projecting opening 32a surrounded by the side wall portion 38 on the lower end side of the case 32, and the airbag 10 accommodated in the case 32 is disposed below. In order to be able to inflate and protrude toward the road surface GL side, the airbag 10 is pushed and broken, and the door portions 40a and 40b are disposed to open both sides in the front-rear direction. In addition, you may comprise the door part of the cover 40 so that it may be opened by one opening not only on both sides but on the back side or the front side.

As shown in FIGS. 7 to 10, the airbag 10 includes a main body bag portion 11 that inflates so as to close a space from the projecting opening 32 a to the road surface GL, and an auxiliary bag that is disposed on the rear surface 11 c side of the main body bag portion 11. And a unit 21.

The bag-shaped peripheral wall 12 of the main body bag portion 11 covers the front side of the left and right front wheels 6 and 6 of the track V when expansion is completed, and closes the region from the lower surface side of the vehicle body front end portion 1a to the road surface GL. It is configured as a vertically long substantially elliptical column extending substantially along the left-right direction. Further, when the airbag 10 at the time of completion of inflation is viewed from above, the main body bag portion 11 has a central portion 11f along the left-right direction and a central portion 11f so as to be substantially similar to the ceiling wall portion 33 of the case 32. The left and right side portions 11g and 11h extend diagonally rearward from the left and right sides (see FIGS. 4 and 7).

And the peripheral wall 12 of the main body bag part 11 is made into the longitudinal cross-sectional shape along the front-back direction at the time of completion of expansion, the attachment wall part 13 attached to the lower surface side of the ceiling wall part 33 of the case 32, and the front of the attachment wall part 13 A bottom wall that connects the front wall portion 17 extending downward from the edge side, a rear wall portion 18 extending downward from the rear edge side of the mounting wall portion 13, and the lower edges of the front and rear wall portions 17 and 18 to contact the road surface GL. And a wall portion 19.

A plurality (four in the embodiment) of gas inflow openings 14 are formed in the mounting wall 13 so that the main body 42a of each inflator 42 can be inserted, and each retainer is provided at the periphery of each opening 14. Four mounting holes 15 through which the 26 bolts 26a are inserted are vertically penetrated. Further, on the front edge side of the mounting wall portion 13, there is disposed a mounting reinforcing portion 16 that protrudes forward and extends along the left-right direction and has a plurality of mounting holes 16 a.

In addition, the main body bag portion 11 of the embodiment is a coupling type airbag formed by joining the outer peripheral edges of a predetermined cloth material using sewing or the like, and further, the coupling portion does not contact the road surface GL. It is configured. That is, the constituent material of the bag-shaped peripheral wall 12 of the main body bag portion 11 is formed of two cloth materials 12a and 12b woven using polyester yarn, polyamide yarn or the like. These cloth materials 12a and 12b are arranged in an up-and-down shape in substantially the same shape, and the outer peripheral edges of the upper cloth material 12a and the lower cloth material 12b are joined using stitching or adhesion, etc. A bag portion 11 is formed. And the part 12d of the front edge side of the peripheral part 12c used as the mutual allowance for the upper and lower fabrics 12a and 12b constitutes the attachment reinforcing part 16, and the attachment reinforcing part 16 has the same as described above. An attachment hole 16a through which the bolt 29 is inserted is formed so as to be attached to the case ceiling wall portion 33. And the front edge part of the upper cloth 12a is arranged so that the rear edge side of the peripheral edge part 12c does not come into contact with the road surface GL when the expansion is completed, that is, at the position of the rear wall part 18 above the bottom wall part 19. A gas inflow opening 14 for inserting the main body portion 42a of each inflator 42 is formed so as to be offset toward the 12d side, and a mounting hole 15 is formed around the opening 14.

A plurality of communication ports 18 a are formed on the upper side of the rear wall portion 18 so as to open in a circular shape and penetrate in the front-rear direction. These communication ports 18 a are arranged side by side in the left-right direction, and in the case of the embodiment, four communication ports 18 a are arranged in the region of the central portion 11 f of the main body bag portion 11.

The auxiliary bag portion 21 is disposed on the upper surface 11d side of the rear surface 11c of the main body bag portion 11 along the left-right direction. The auxiliary bag portion 21 is composed of a front wall portion 23 and a rear wall portion 24 that are separated in the front-rear direction when inflated, and the shape at the time of completion of inflation is a substantially circular shape extending in the left-right direction. It is arranged on the rear surface upper part 11d side near the center part 11f of the part 11.

Further, in the auxiliary bag portion 21, the cylindrical peripheral wall 22 is formed of two cloth materials 22 a and 22 b made of the same material as the cloth materials 12 a and 12 b of the peripheral wall 12 of the main body bag portion 11. The two cloth materials are composed of a front cloth 22a that forms a front wall portion 23 whose outer shapes are substantially equal to each other, and a rear cloth 22b that forms a rear wall portion 24. The front cloth 22a and the rear cloth 22b The auxiliary bag portion 21 is formed by joining the outer peripheral edges together using stitching or adhesion.

The front wall portion 23 is opened in a circular shape so as to correspond to each communication port 18 a of the main body bag portion 11, and the auxiliary bag portion 21 is communicated with the main body bag portion 11 so as to expand from the main body bag portion 11. A communication port 23 a for allowing the working gas to flow into the auxiliary bag portion 21 is formed.

The airbag 10 is manufactured by connecting the peripheral edges of the corresponding communication ports 18a and 23a, and then connecting the outer peripheral edges of the front cloth 22a and the rear cloth 22b, and the upper cloth 12a and the lower cloth. The airbag 10 can be manufactured by combining the outer peripheral edges with 12b.

And the shape at the time of completion of expansion of the auxiliary bag part 21 protrudes downward from the rear edge 32b side of the protrusion opening 32a, and the rear surface 11c of the main body bag part 11 and the rear edge 32b of the protrusion opening 32a in the vicinity of the central part 11f. (In the case of the embodiment, between the rear surface 11c of the main body bag part 11 and the rear wall part 38b of the side wall part 38 of the case 32 and the vicinity of the hinge part 40c of the door part 40b of the cover 40). It is set so that it can expand (see FIGS. 5 and 10). That is, the rear surface 11c side of the main body bag portion 11 is set to a size that can be supported by restricting rearward movement near the center portion 11f at a position below the rear edge 32b of the projection opening 32a. In the case of the embodiment, the height H1 of 1/3 to 1/4 of the height dimension H0 between the protrusion opening 32a and the road surface GL is lowered downward from the vicinity of the rear edge 32b of the protrusion opening 32a. The shape and volume of the auxiliary bag portion 21 or the coupling position with the main body bag portion 11 are set so that the front surface 21b side of the lower end 21a is the support portion (fulcrum) PS1.

In the airbag 10, the main body bag portion 11 is configured so that the lower surface 11 e is pressed against the road surface GL when the inflation is completed. The internal pressure of the airbag 10 at that time is such that the front wheels 6 and 6 are steered. It is set so that a certain degree of rigidity (shape retention) can be secured in the main body bag portion 11 and the auxiliary bag portion 21 within the range of the internal pressure that does not affect the braking operation.

In the pedestrian airbag device S of this embodiment, when a collision with the pedestrian on the track V is predicted, a control device (not shown) outputs an operation signal to the inflator 42, and thus the gas discharge port 42 b of the inflator 42. The expansion gas G (see FIG. 10) is discharged from the nozzles. Therefore, the airbag 10 accommodated in the case 32 is inflated as shown by two-dot chain lines in FIGS. 1, 2, 4 and 5 to push open the cover 40 and downward from the projecting opening 32a of the case 32. Project to complete the expansion.

And in airbag apparatus S for pedestrians of embodiment, if airbag 10 completes expansion, as shown in Drawing 10, main part bag part 11 will block between opening 32a for projection and road surface GL. The auxiliary bag portion 21 completes the expansion on the rear surface 11c side of the main body bag portion 11. And the auxiliary bag part 21 makes the front surface 21b by the side of the lower end 21a contact at least the upper part 11d side of the rear surface 11c of the main body bag part 11. FIG.

In this case, the moment M that moves the lower end 11b side of the main body bag part 11 backward is a pressing force F that acts backward on the lower end 11b side and an action point PF on which the pressing force F acts. This is the product of the distance L from the lower end 11b side to the upper fulcrum PS1. In the airbag 10 of the embodiment, the fulcrum part PS1 on the upper end side that supports the main body bag part 11 when the moment is applied is not the part PS0 in the vicinity of the rear edge 32b of the protrusion opening 32a of the case 32, but the auxiliary bag part. The front surface 21b on the lower end 21a side of the contact 21 comes into contact with the portion PS1 on the upper 11d side of the rear surface 11c of the rear surface 11c of the main body bag portion 11 which is positioned below the rear edge 32b of the protrusion opening 32a. That is, in the airbag 10 of the embodiment, the fulcrum part PS1 of the main body bag part 11 when the moment is applied protrudes downward from the protrusion opening 32a as compared to the fulcrum part PS0 in the case of the airbag without the auxiliary bag part. By the auxiliary bag portion 21 that is present, the position is lowered downward by the dimension H. Therefore, when the pedestrian comes in contact with the lower end 11d side of the front surface 11c of the main body bag portion 11 so as to go from the front side to the rear side, even if the pedestrian has the same pressing force F, it acts on the main body bag portion 11. The backward moving moment M is smaller by the height dimension H1 when the fulcrum PS1 is lowered than in the case of the airbag without the auxiliary bag portion. As a result, in the airbag 10 according to the embodiment, the rigidity (shape holding force) of the main body bag portion 11 itself at the time of completion of inflation can counter the pedestrian's pressing force F, and the main body bag portion 11 can be moved backward. It can regulate and can prevent a pedestrian from entering the lower surface 11e side of the main body bag portion 11.

Therefore, in the pedestrian airbag device S of the embodiment, even if the airbag 10 inflated so as to close the space between the lower surface of the vehicle body front end 1a and the road surface GL is disposed, the rear side of the airbag lower end 11b side By restricting the movement, a pedestrian can be prevented from entering the lower surface 11e of the airbag 10.

In the embodiment, the movement of the main body bag portion 11 can be regulated by the auxiliary bag portion 21 itself that inflates in the same manner as the main body bag portion 11 by flowing in the inflation gas G, so that the main body bag portion 11 is separately supported. Using a member for supporting the rear surface 11c when the main body bag portion 11 is inflated, and a mechanism for projecting the support plate or the like when the main body bag portion 11 is inflated. The main body bag portion 11 need not be provided on the lower surface side of the front end portion 1a, can support the main body bag portion 11, and can prevent a pedestrian from entering the lower surface 11e side of the airbag 10.

In addition, in the embodiment, it is possible to prevent the pedestrian from being caught on the front wheel 6 side without covering the space between the lower surface of the vehicle body front end 1a and the road surface GL with an airbag having a wide width in the front-rear direction. It is also possible to reduce the volume of the bag 10, and it is not necessary to use an inflator 42 that supplies the inflation gas G to the airbag 10 with a larger output than necessary, and the inflator 42 is reduced in size and weight. It is possible to reduce the weight of the airbag device S.

Incidentally, it is not preferable that the fulcrum part SP1 is too close to the road surface GL from the viewpoint of suppressing an increase in the volume of the auxiliary bag portion 21. Therefore, the support part (fulcrum) PS1 on the front surface 21b side of the lower end 21a that has lowered downward from the protrusion opening 32a is a dimension H1 that is about 2/3 of the height dimension H0 between the protrusion opening 32a and the road surface GL. It is desirable to set the shape and volume of the auxiliary bag portion 21 or the coupling position with the main body bag portion 11 with the position lowered from the protruding opening 32a as the limit.

In the airbag 10 of the embodiment, although the communication ports 18a and 23a communicate with each other, the airbag 10 is composed of separate bag-shaped main body bag portion 11 and auxiliary bag portion 21, but the air bag shown in FIGS. Like the bag 10A, the outer shape of the upper and lower fabrics 12a and 12b constituting the peripheral wall 12A of the main body bag portion 11A is enlarged, and the front wall portion 17 and the rear wall portion 18 are used by using the tether 20, The auxiliary bag portion 21 </ b> A may be integrally formed on the upper cloth 12 b side by being connected so as to be partially approached along the front-rear direction. In the airbag 10A, the upper part of the main body bag part 11A and the auxiliary bag part 21A is shared, and the inflation gas G from the inflator 42 immediately flows into the main body bag part 11A and the auxiliary bag part 21A. However, it reaches the lower end 11b side of the main body bag portion 11A through the periphery of the tether 20.

Even in the airbag 10A, when the inflation is completed, the auxiliary bag portion 21A protrudes downward from the rear edge 32b of the protruding opening 32a of the case 32, and the front surface 21b side of the lower end 21a faces the upper portion 11d of the rear surface 11c of the main body bag portion 11A. The fulcrum part PS1 on the upper end side that supports the main body bag portion 11A when the moment is applied by the pedestrian's pressing force F is positioned at the position PS0 in the vicinity of the rear edge 32b of the projecting opening 32a of the case 32. The portion PS1 where the upper surface 11d side of the rear surface 11c of the main body bag portion 11A, that is, the front surface 21b on the lower end 21a side of the auxiliary bag portion 21A abuts, is located below the rear edge 32b of the protrusion opening 32a. The same actions and effects as the airbag 10 can be obtained.

In addition, as a connection means for connecting the front wall portion 17 and the rear wall portion 18 of the airbag 10A, the front wall portion 17 and the rear wall portion 18 can be connected to each other using a tether 20 or stitching or adhesion as a connection means. You may connect directly.

Furthermore, the main bag portion and the auxiliary bag portion may be connected separately to the inflator without sharing the inflator that supplies the inflation gas. That is, like the airbag 10B shown in FIGS. 14 and 15, the main body bag portion 11B and the auxiliary bag portion 21B are each provided in the form of separate bags, and provided with openings 14 for inserting the inflator 42 into the main body bag portion 11B. The auxiliary bag portion 21B is also provided with an opening 14B for inserting the main body portion 42a of the inflator 42 and an attachment hole 15B for inserting each bolt 26a of the retainer 26 so that the inflator 42 similar to the main body bag portions 11 and 11B can be connected. Configured. The opening 14B of the auxiliary bag portion 21B is single so that the inflator 42 to be connected can be reduced because the volume of the auxiliary bag portion 21B is small. Further, since the volume for the auxiliary bag portion 21B is not required, the number of inflators 42 for inflating the main body bag portion 11B is set to be smaller than that of the main body bag portions 11 and 11A shown in FIGS. ing.

Even in the airbag 10B, when the inflation is completed, the auxiliary bag portion 21B protrudes downward from the rear edge 32b of the protrusion opening 32a of the case 32, and the front surface 21b side of the lower end 21a is set to the upper portion 11d of the rear surface 11c of the main body bag portion 11B. The fulcrum part PS1 on the upper end side that supports the main body bag portion 11A when the moment is applied by the pedestrian's pressing force F is positioned at the position PS0 in the vicinity of the rear edge 32b of the projecting opening 32a of the case 32. The portion PS1 where the front surface 21b on the upper surface 11d side of the rear surface 11c of the main body bag portion 11B, that is, the lower end 21a side of the auxiliary bag portion 21B contacts, rather than the rear edge 32b of the opening 32a for protrusion, The same actions and effects as the airbag 10 can be obtained.
