近年、日本においては食習慣も変化し化粧料に対する官能的な要求も変化しつつある。近年の傾向としてはさっぱりした官能が好まれ、クリームや乳液よりも軽い化粧水が好まれる。しかし、水溶性物質のみで構成されている化粧水では必要な皮膚の保護や保湿性が保つことが困難である。このため、水性化粧品にさっぱり感が強く、皮膚保護性も高いシリコン油を配合することが試みられている。(特許文献1〜3)
しかしながら、特許文献1で開示されている水性化粧料では未水添レシチンをシリコーン油に対して1/2量(重量比)を配合しなければならず、シリコーン油の配合量が多い場合は未水添レシチンをかなりの量を配合しなければならず、良好な官能が得られない。
また、特許文献2で開示されている乳化化粧料でもシリコン油(油相)に対してかなりの量のリン脂質を配合しなければ安定性が保たれない。
特許文献3で開示されている乳化化粧料ではシリコーン油のさっぱりした官能が充分に生かしきれていない。

で、(B)に対して(A)が3〜12倍量(重量比)である透明〜半透明の乳化化粧水

高級アルコールは炭素数14〜22の直鎖、分岐、飽和、不飽和を問わず利用できるが、主に利用されるのは炭素数16〜18の直鎖、飽和の高級アルコールである。
上記のシリコーン油、高級アルコールを油相に占める割合はシリコーン油は80%以上、高級アルコールは3%以上、より好ましくはシリコーン油は90%以上、高級アルコールは5〜10%である。この他に本発明の主旨に反しない程度に油性原料を配合することはなんら問題はない。このような油相を全体の5〜20%配合する。

これらを1種又は2種以上を用いる。しかし、(B)成分が多いと官能面で制約を受けるので、(B)に対して(A)が3〜12倍量(重量比)になるような配合量とする。
なお、他の界面活性剤を配合することを否定するものではないが、本発明者らの実験では、レシチン、ポリグリセリン脂肪酸エステル、ショ糖脂肪酸エステルの3種が最も本発明の主旨に合致するので、基本的にはこの3種を用い、用途や官能等の調整に若干の他の活性剤を用いることは有意義な場合がある。
