トラック車両などでは、サイドミラーを車体前方に張り出して取り付けることが一般的であるが、サイドミラーを車体前面より後方に取り付けるように規制している国もある。
上記特許文献1のように乗用車などの場合は、ミラー本体とミラー支持点との距離を小さくできるので支持強度を確保できるが、トラック車両などでは、ドアウインド前下縁の高さが乗員の視線に対して低いため、サイドミラーをドアウインドの前端下部で支持した場合には、ミラー中心と取付け中心とが離れてしまい、強度不足となって振動しやすい。
上記特許文献2に示すもののように、ドアウインド下側のドアパネル部分でサイドミラーの下端部のみを支持する場合も同様であり、強度不足となって振動しやすい。
ドアウインド前方のドアパネル部分に上下方向にサイドミラーを支持することも考えられるが、上下方向のみの支持となり、ミラーの支持位置から後方に離れて位置するミラー本体までの距離が大きく、大きなモーメントが作用してミラーが振動しやすい支持構造となる。

前記ミラー支持部3は、ドアアウタパネル1を、パネル外側面より車両内側に凹ませて形成され、ドアウインド2の前端に沿って上下方向に延びる前側支持部31と、該前側支持部31の下端部から後方に延びる後側支持部32と、を備えて構成される。
前記前側支持部31は、上下に離れた2箇所にボルト通し孔31a、31bが形成され、ドアウインド2内を昇降するウインドガラス4の前縁を嵌合するチャンネル部材5より前側に位置するように形成されている。
また、前記後側支持部32には、前記ボルト通し孔31bの後方略同一高さに位置して1箇所のボルト通し孔32aが形成され、該ボルト通し孔32aを貫通する締結用ボルト6の端部とナット7が螺合する部分を、前記ウインドガラス4との干渉を避けるように車両外側に凹ませて形成している。
さらに、前側ミラー支持部3の裏面に沿って、レインフォース部材8が接合して取り付けられる。
また、ドアインナパネル9のドアウインド2前端部を形成する部分は、後端が前記チャンネル部材の内側面に接合するように形成されている。
上記構成を有したミラー支持部3に、サイドミラー10が締結支持される。すなわち、サイドミラー7にの被支持部には、前記ミラー支持部3側のボルト通し孔31a,31b,31cおよびレインフォース部材8のボルト通し孔と重合する位置に、ボルト通し孔71が形成され、これら重合するボルト通し孔に前記締結用ボルト6を通し、ナット7を螺合して締結してある。
かかる構成とすれば、サイドミラー10は、上下方向と前後方向を計3箇所で締結支持され、ミラー本体10aは、前側支持部31と後側支持部32との間の位置にセットされることになり、取付け中心位置(3箇所の支持点を頂点とする三角形の重心)とミラー本体10aの中心位置との距離が十分に小さくなるので、サイドミラー10を強固に安定して支持することができ、振動を防止できる。
また、チャンネル部材5より前側に設けた前側支持部31でサイドミラー10を上下に支持し、後側支持部32は、チャンネル部材5より後側に設けてサイドミラー10の後方下端部を支持するようにしたので、ドアウインド前端部の従来よりウインドサッシを覆っていた部分をミラー支持部として利用でき、ドアウインド開口面積を十分に確保しつつサイドミラー10の被支持部は樹脂材などで形成することにより、軽量かつ低コストで製造できる。
また、ミラー支持部3の一部をチャンネル部材5の外側面に接合するように車両内側に凹ませて形成したことで、凹部がリブの機能を有してミラー支持部3自体の強度を高められると共に、チャンネル部材5が補強部材の機能を兼ねることになって、より強度を高められる。また、後側支持部を32貫通する締結用ボルト5とナット6が螺合する部分を、ウインドガラス4との干渉を避けるように車両外側に凹ませて形成したことにより、同様にミラー支持部3の強度を高めることができ、さらに、このようにしてミラー支持部3の外面に形成される凹部に、サイドミラー10の凸部が嵌合して取り付けられる構造となって、サイドミラー10の支持がより安定し強固なものとなる。

The side mirror 10 is fastened and supported on the mirror support portion 3 having the above-described configuration. With this configuration, the side mirror 10 is fastened and supported in a total of three locations in the vertical direction and the front-back direction, and the mirror body 10a is set at a position between the front support portion 31 and the rear support portion 32.
