該座標変換手段によって読み出された画素データを、複数ライン分蓄積するバッファ手段と、
該バッファ手段に格納された注目画素データとその周辺の画素データ群に基づいて、注目画素データが画像エッジにあるか否かを判定する判定手段と、
該判定手段によって非画像エッジにあると判定した場合には、注目画素データに対して非画像エッジ用のハーフトーン処理を行なう第1の処理手段と、
前記判定手段によって画像エッジにあると判定した場合には、前記バッファ手段に格納された注目画素データの階調を、前記座標変換手段での変換する際のアドレス情報に基づいて補正する補正手段と、
該補正手段で得られた画素データに対して、前記第1の処理手段とは異なるエッジにおける不連続性の発生を抑えるエッジ用の処理を行なう第2の処理手段と
記第1、2の処理手段で得られた画素データを、該当する画像形成部の露光部の露光制御信号として出力する出力手段と
