前記現像装置にトナーを補給するトナー補給手段と、
前記現像装置内のトナーの濃度を検知する濃度検出手段と、
前記濃度検出手段からの検出信号の値と濃度制御の基準値とに基づいてトナー補給量を決定し、前記トナー補給手段を動作させる第一の現像剤濃度制御手段と、
前記画像情報信号の印字画素数の累計値に基づいてトナー補給量を決定し、前記トナー補給手段を動作させる第二の現像剤濃度制御手段と、
前記第一の現像剤濃度制御手段によって決定されるトナー補給量と前記第二の現像剤濃度制御手段によって決定されるトナー補給量とに基づいて、前記第一の現像剤濃度制御手段における濃度制御の基準値を変更するか否かを決定する決定手段と、
