When the biometric information is acquired from the person to be authenticated, the collation process collates the authentication biometric information obtained by extracting the feature amount of the biometric information and converting it into digital data, and the biometric identification information held in advance, and the similarity Authenticate yourself.
However, in the case of the iris recognition apparatus of

In the following description, the same constituent elements in the drawings used in each embodiment will be given the same reference numerals, and redundant description will be omitted as much as possible.
The iris collating apparatus of the first embodiment has an iris data registration function and a collating function. Already, an iris pattern is obtained from a large number of users, the feature amount of the pattern is extracted, converted into digital data, and stored and managed in the iris registration information database as iris registration data. Such an iris collating device is shown in FIG.
Prior to the description of the iris verification device, the iris verification performed by the iris verification device will be described. Iris matching is to authenticate the person based on the feature quantity of the iris as a special physical feature (biometric), and the process includes registration processing and matching processing.
The registration process is a function of acquiring an iris pattern from an authentication target person, extracting a feature amount of the pattern, converting it into digital data, and storing it as iris registration data (biometric identification information). A function of acquiring an iris pattern from the image, extracting and digitizing the feature quantity of the pattern, comparing the iris verification data (authentication biometric information) obtained by digitization with the previously stored iris registration data, and authenticating the person It is.
By the way, for iris collation, iris registration data corresponding to the identification number (ID) of the user is acquired from the iris registration information database, and the iris generated based on the acquired iris registration data and the biometric information acquired from the authentication target person. One-to-one matching that authenticates a user who is given an ID number by collating the data, and a large number of iris registration data are acquired from the iris registration information database, and the acquired large number of iris registration data and authentication There is one-to-many matching for authenticating that the person to be authenticated is a member of the registered member by sequentially comparing the iris data generated based on the biological information acquired from the subject.
In the
As shown in FIG. 1, the iris collating apparatus according to the first embodiment cuts out an iris portion from a user image obtained by a video camera and acquires an iris pattern, and the acquired iris information acquisition unit 11 A feature
The
The iris registration data held and managed in the iris
The
The
When the number of rejects indicated by the
Upon receiving the authentication result (OK / NG), the
In the iris matching device, the feature quantity quality of the iris matching data converted from the iris pattern acquired from the user and the iris registration data held and managed in the iris registration information database is important, and these feature quantity qualities are authenticated. The success or failure of In order to maintain the feature quantity quality in the iris collation data converted based on the iris pattern obtained from the user for each collation, the iris pattern is acquired a plurality of times until one iris collation data is generated. Done. That is, in order to acquire optimal iris collation data, photographing for acquiring an iris pattern is performed a plurality of times.
Note that it is extremely rare that the quality of the iris collation data generated from the plurality of iris patterns acquired by re-taking is poor.
In contrast, the iris registration data used for the verification is held and managed in the iris
The
The
Further, when the elapsed time measured by the
The
The
The one-to-one matching operation in the
When the
If it is determined in S204 that the authentication is unauthenticated, the reject counter 141 (hereinafter simply referred to as Rej) is counted up (step S205). The
If it is determined that the verification is acceptable (OK) in S204, the
In step S207, the
例えば、RejNum(A)/AccNum(A)でも、
RejNum(A)/{AccNum(A)+RejNum(A)}でも良い。
When the
The expression for determining whether to notify that re-registration of registration data is necessary may be an expression representing the frequency of rejection. For example, RejNum (A) / AccNum (A)
RejNum (A) / {AccNum (A) + RejNum (A)} may be used.
As described above, according to the iris collation device of the present invention, the
Therefore, since the user who is frequently determined to be unauthenticated re-registers the iris registration data according to the display guidance, the iris registration data with poor feature quantity quality is deleted from the feature quantity database, so that the user authentication is normally performed. As a result, the authentication rate can be improved and the bad impression of the user on the iris matching device can be wiped out.
通信回線30は、LAN(Local Area Network)などの構内回線が好ましい。
The configuration of the iris collation system of the second embodiment is shown in FIG.
The iris verification system is a system that manages entrance / exit with iris information.
The iris
The

The

The

The
The management device (collation management means) 40 receives a determination result such as “re-registration of registration data is necessary” from the re-registration determination unit of each iris collation device from each
When the
An administrator who manages the iris collation system can know from the management apparatus where a situation has occurred in which re-registration of biometric identification information is required. It is possible to go to the gate and give appropriate advice to a user who needs re-registration, and store iris registration data with good feature quantity quality in the iris registration information database.
The operation of the iris collation system of the second embodiment will be described.
The
FIG. 5 is a flowchart of the re-registration determination process (one-to-many matching).
The
When the collation result in S504 is unauthenticated, 1 is added to Rej (step S505). The
If it is determined in step S504 that the authentication is OK, the process proceeds to step S508. The fact that the authentication is OK is displayed on the
The
The
When the
When the user is unauthenticated, the next verification process is usually performed immediately. In step S501, the elapsed time from the previous verification is checked, which is based on such user behavior. Therefore, if the time from the non-authentication to the start of the next verification process is within T time, the value of Rej is held as it is and added in
The method performed in step S501 is not limited to the above. For example, the value of Rej may be cleared to 0 for each matching process.
