Description

The present invention relates to a sheet cutting apparatus that cuts a plurality of sheets, a sheet post-processing apparatus including the sheet cutting apparatus, and an image forming system including the sheet post-processing apparatus.

A high-speed image forming apparatus such as an electrophotographic image forming apparatus is connected to a paper post-processing apparatus that performs various post-processing, and various post-processing such as binding processing and folding processing are performed on the image-formed paper. Multifunctional image forming systems that enable processing to be performed in one apparatus have become widespread.

Various post-processing devices include a sheet cutting device that aligns the edges of a bundle of a plurality of sheets. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a cutting device that cuts the edge of a sheet that has been subjected to center folding or saddle stitching. An image forming system is disclosed. The paper cutting apparatus described in Patent Document 1 is called a guillotine type, and cuts by pressing a cutting blade from a direction perpendicular to the paper surface.

Patent Document 2 discloses a paper cutting apparatus that presses a cutting blade against a paper surface from an oblique direction to perform cutting.

JP 2003-228205 A JP 2003-191196 A JP 2003-136471 A

The guillotine-type cutting device described in Patent Document 1 requires a large force for driving the cutting blade, and the power of the driving means needs to be set to the highest value in the use range. There is a problem that the apparatus becomes larger and the power consumption becomes larger, such as the need for a motor. In particular, it becomes difficult to incorporate the cutting device into the post-processing device that constitutes the image forming system.

In the cutting apparatus of Patent Document 2, the table that supports the paper also functions as a blade receiving member that receives the cutting blade. However, the cutting table is cut by the cutting blade to form a notch groove by a plurality of cutting operations. Due to the notch grooves, there are problems such as uncut parts and uneven cutting surfaces.

In the paper cutting apparatus of Patent Document 3, the left and right of the pair of guide plates that slidably support the cutting blade are not connected, and thus, particularly, a large number of sheets, for example, 50 to 100 sheets are cut. At times, the pair of guide plates may fall and give an abnormal load to the cutting blade. For this reason, the driving load of the cutting blade driving means increases.

The present invention has an object to solve such a problem in a conventional sheet cutting apparatus, and in particular, a sheet cutting apparatus suitable for use as a part of an image forming system, and a sheet post-processing apparatus including such a sheet cutting apparatus. FIG. 3A is a main part front view showing a paper cutting start state of the paper cutting apparatus, and FIG. 3B is a main part side view thereof. 4 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the periphery of the cutting blade and the periphery of the blade receiving plate of the paper cutting device, and FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the periphery of the cutting blade of the paper cutting device.

The blade receiving member moving means 110 is disposed at the upper part of the main body 101 of the paper cutting apparatus 100, the cutting blade moving means 120 is disposed at the lower part of the main body 101, and the cutting blade driving means 130 is provided on the left side portion of the main body 101 in the drawing. Is arranged (see FIG. 1).

The small edge of the sheet bundle SS carried into the sheet cutting apparatus 100 is cut by the vertical lowering of the blade receiving plate of the blade receiving member moving unit 110 and the rising of the cutting blade 121 of the cutting blade moving unit 120 in the oblique direction. Hereinafter, details of the blade receiving member moving unit 110, the cutting blade moving unit 120, and the cutting blade driving unit 130 will be described.

[Blade receiving member moving means 110]
A rotating shaft 111 supported at both ends is installed on the upper portion of the blade receiving member moving means 110. The rotating shaft 111 is rotated by first driving means having a motor M1 and drive transmission means Z1 including a belt and gears.

The rotating shaft 111 is provided with screw portions 111A and 111B having twist angles opposite to each other. A nut 112A and a nut 112B are screwed into the screw portion 111A and the screw portion 111B, respectively. As the rotary shaft 111 rotates, the moving body 113A holding the nut 112A and the moving body 113B holding the nut 112B linearly move in directions opposite to each other.

The lower end of the connecting rod 114A that is swingably supported by a part of the moving body 113A is engaged with the upper left portion of the small-mouth pressurizing member 115 in the figure and supported so as to be movable up and down. Similarly, the lower end of the connecting rod 114B that is swingably supported by a part of the moving body 113B is engaged with the upper right portion of the figure shown in FIG.

Therefore, the rotation shaft 111 is rotated by the driving rotation of the motor M1, the moving bodies 113A and 113B move to the left and right, the inclination of the connecting rods 114A and 114B changes, and the fore edge pressurizing member 115 moves in parallel up and down. .

A blade receiving member 116 is fixed to the lower surface of the fore edge pressurizing member 115 and moves up and down in parallel with the forehead pressurizing member 115. The blade receiving member 116 is made of a resin material.

As described above, the first driving means including the motor M1 and the drive transmission means, the rotating shaft 111, the moving bodies 113A and 113B, the connecting rods 114A and 114B, the fore edge pressurizing member 115, and the blade receiving member 116 are the blade receiving plate driving mechanism. Configure.

Since the fore edge pressurizing member 115 that supports the blade receiving member 116 is driven by a driving mechanism having a large reduction ratio including the screw portions 111A and 111B, the sheet bundle SS is pressed and held at a high pressure.

The fore edge press member 115 that holds the blade receiving member 116 slides in a direction indicated by an arrow K shown in FIG. 3, that is, in a direction orthogonal to the longitudinal direction of the cutting blade 121 every predetermined number of cutting processes by a driving unit (not shown). .

[Cutting blade moving means 120]
The cutting blade moving means 120 includes a cutting blade 121, a cutting blade holder 122, support plates 123 </ b> A and 123 </ b> B, a spacing member 124, a fixing means including a connecting member 125 and a fastening member 126, a fixed support stand 127, and the like. .

A cutting blade 121 having a cutting edge formed at the upper edge is fixedly held by a cutting blade holder 122. The cutting blade holder 122 is supported so as to be movable between opposing surfaces of a pair of support plates 123A and 123B arranged in parallel. A gap holding member 124 is sandwiched between the opposing surfaces of the support plates 123A and 123B, and the cutting blade holder 122 is held at a movable gap.

The connecting member 125 screwed with a male screw passes through the support plates 123A and 123B and the space holding member 124 having a hollow cylindrical shape, and is screwed into a tightening member 126 made of a spring washer and a hexagon nut, thereby supporting the support plates 123A and 123A. 123B is held at a predetermined interval and tightened.

The interval between the sliding surfaces of the support plates 123A and 123B facing each other by the interval holding member 124 is set within a range of 0.1 to 0.5 mm with respect to the thickness of the cutting blade holder 122, and the cutting blade holder 122 is obstructed. The gap can be lifted up and down without any problems

The connecting means including the connecting member 125 and the tightening member 126 is disposed at a plurality of locations (seven locations shown in FIG. 2) of the support plates 123A and 123B, and firmly holds a predetermined interval.

Rollers 128A and 128B are fixed to the cutting blade holder 122, and the rollers 128A and 128B are respectively guided by guide members 129A and 129B inclined downward to the right. The guide members 129A and 129B are fixed to the main body 101.

[Cutting blade driving means 130]
The cutting blade driving unit 130 includes a motor M2, a drive transmission unit, a moving body 133, and the like.

The main body 101 has rotating shafts 131A and 131B supported in parallel at both ends. Rotating shafts 131A and 131B provided with screws are rotated in the same direction by a motor M2 and second driving means having drive transmission means Z2 comprising a belt and gears.

Nuts 132A and 132B are screwed into screws screwed on the rotary shafts 131A and 131B, respectively. Due to the rotation of the rotating shafts 131A and 131B, the moving body 133 holding the nuts 132A and 132B moves linearly.

A pin 134 fixed to the cutting blade holder 122 is movably fitted into the long hole portion 133A formed in the movable body 133. The movable body 133 moves linearly to the left and right in the drawing, and the cutting blade holder 122 linearly moves to the left and right via the pin 134, and the rollers 128A and 128B fixed to the cutting blade holder 122 follow the guide members 129A and 129B. As shown by the arrow J direction, it moves obliquely upward.

The sheet bundle SS introduced into the sheet cutting apparatus 100 is conveyed on the fixed support table 127 of the cutting blade moving means 120 with the front edge a as the head, stopped at a predetermined position, and the blade receiving member that descends from the fixed support table 127. The fore edge a is cut by the cutting blade 121 that is sandwiched and raised by 116.

[Operation of Cutting Device 100]
Next, the operation of the cutting apparatus 100 will be described.

In the standby state, the moving body 113A is positioned at the left end, the moving body 113B is positioned at the right end, the blade receiving member 116 is at the upper limit position, and the cutting blade 121 is waiting at the lower limit position.

When the sheet bundle SS is introduced into the sheet cutting apparatus 100, the motor M1 is activated to drive the moving bodies 113A and 113B, and the fore edge pressurizing member 115 is lowered via the connecting rods 114A and 114B. At the position where the fore edge pressurizing member 115 is detected by the detecting means PS, the motor M1 stops and the forehead pressurizing member 115 stops. The stop position of the edge pressing member 115 is determined by the position setting of the detection means PS, and the position of the detection means PS is determined by the number of sheets forming the sheet bundle SS. Therefore, in the operation unit of the image forming system, the lowering position of the edge pressing member 115 is set according to the number of sheets constituting the set sheet bundle SS.

The fore edge pressing member 115 presses the sheet bundle SS with a large pressure so that no deviation occurs even when a lateral force is applied to the stacked sheets by the cutting blade 121 at the time of cutting described later. .

At the stage where the pressing of the sheet bundle SS is completed, the motor M1 is activated to move the cutting blade 121 to the upper left of the arrow J. By this movement of the cutting blade 121, the sheet bundle SS is cut. Since the cutting action of the cutting blade 121 is cutting by sliding the blade, cutting with a relatively small driving force is possible, and even if the number of sheets to be cut increases, only the moving stroke of the cutting blade 121 changes. The driving force does not change.

When all the sheets of the sheet bundle SS are cut, the cutting edge of the cutting blade 121 comes into contact with the blade receiving member 116, and the driving force of the cutting blade 121 increases. The control means detects the increase in the driving force, that is, the increase in the motor driving current due to the increase in the load of the motor M1, and the control unit stops the driving of the motor M1. In this way, all the sheets constituting the sheet bundle SS are cut.

When the fore edge cutting process is completed, the motor M2 rotates in the reverse direction, and the cutting blade 121 descends to a predetermined position diagonally downward to the right in FIG.

When the lowering of the cutting blade 121 is completed, the fore edge pressing member 115 is raised to the initial position.

When the crease pressing member and the receiving plate (not shown) holding the vicinity of the fold portion b of the sheet bundle SS are returned to the initial positions after the fore edge pressing member 115 is lifted, the pressing member 115 and the blade receiving member 116 are lifted. Then, the holding of the sheet bundle SS is released.

By the series of operations described above, the edge cutting process for the sheet bundle SS is completed.

By repeating the cutting operation, the blade receiving member 116 is slightly cut by the cutting blade 121, but as a result, the cut groove T is formed in the blade receiving member 116. When the depth of the cut groove T is increased, cutting defects such as uncut paper and the end surface of the cut edge a may not be flat may occur.

In order to prevent this, the blade receiving member 116 is displaced in the direction of the arrow K intersecting with the longitudinal direction of the cutting blade 121, and the unused portion of the blade receiving member 116 is set to a position for receiving the cutting edge of the cutting blade 121. . That is, by operating the solenoid SL, the receiving member driving mechanism described above is operated, and the blade receiving member 116 is advanced in the arrow K direction.

Thereby, although a plurality of cut grooves T are formed, it can be limited to a depth within an allowable limit, and cutting defects due to the cut grooves do not occur.

[Paper post-processing device]
FIG. 8 is a schematic diagram showing sheet conveyance in the middle folding and saddle stitching process of the sheet post-processing apparatus B. 9 is a right side view of the sheet post-processing apparatus B, and FIG. 10 is a left side view.

First, a paper transport process from paper introduction to folding processing will be described.

As shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, when the sheet S discharged from the image forming apparatus A is introduced into the inlet portion 11 of the sheet post-processing apparatus B, the sheet S is sandwiched between the inlet rollers 12 and the conveyance path switching means G1. The paper is transported to either the upper paper transport path r1 or the lower paper transport path r2.

<Straight output>
The sheet S branched into the sheet conveyance path r1 is nipped and conveyed by the conveyance rollers 13A to 13E, and conveyed to either the sheet conveyance path r3 above or below the sheet conveyance path r4 of the conveyance path switching means G2. .

The paper S that has traveled to the upper paper transport path r3 is ejected by the paper ejection roller 14 and stacked on the sub paper ejection tray 15 disposed at the top of the paper post-processing apparatus B.

The sheet S that has advanced to the lower sheet conveyance path r4 is nipped and conveyed by the conveyance rollers 16A to 16D, and is discharged by the paper discharge roller 17.

<First right angle deflection transport>
The sheet S transported to the sheet transport path r2 below the transport path switching means G1 descends almost vertically, and is temporarily stopped and stored at a predetermined position. At this stop position, a plurality of subsequent sheets S are stacked and stored.

<Second right angle deflection conveyance>
The accommodated sheet S is deflected and moved in the forward direction perpendicular to the plane of FIG. 9 by the pair of conveying rollers 18A and 18B, the first pair of conveying rollers 18C and 18D, and a guide plate (not shown). The paper passes through the paper conveyance path r5 that wraps around the front side Bf inside, with the paper surface upright, and temporarily stops at a predetermined position.

<Third right-angle deflection conveyance>
Next, the sheet S is conveyed vertically upward by the second conveying roller pair 18E, then deflected in the horizontal direction, and moved by the conveying roller pair 19 and the conveying alignment belt 20 (refer to the sheet conveying path r6, see FIG. 9). .

<Alignment before folding process>
As shown in FIG. 9, the aligning unit is disposed downstream of the sheet transport path r6 in the sheet transport direction, and presses the aligning member 21 that contacts and positions the leading end of the sheet and the trailing end of the sheet S. The movable alignment member 20A is movable. The aligning member 20A presses the rear end portion of the sheet S conveyed by the conveying roller pair 19 disposed on the upstream side of the sheet conveying direction in the sheet conveying path r6 and moves it to the aligning member 21, and moves the leading end portion of the sheet to the aligning member. 21, the paper is aligned.

Next, the tri-folding process, the half-folding process, the saddle stitching process, and the booklet edge cutting process of the sheet S in the sheet post-processing apparatus B will be specifically described.

<Tri-fold processing>
A folding means 30 is disposed downstream of the conveyance alignment belt 20 in the sheet conveyance direction. The folding means 30 includes folding rollers 31, 32, 33, a first folding plate 34, and a second folding plate 35.

In the case of performing the three-fold process, the folding unit 30 forms the first fold portion on the sheet S by the folding rollers 31 and 32 and the first folding plate 34, and the folding rollers 32 and 33 and the second folding plate 35. As a result, the second fold portion is formed on the sheet S, and the signature SA that has been folded in three passes through the sheet conveyance path r8 including a plurality of conveyance rollers 36 and guide plates, and is discharged by the sheet discharge roller 37. It is discharged to the paper tray 38 (see FIG. 9).

<Folding process>
The one or more sheets S that have reached the folding means 30 are sandwiched between folding rollers 31 and 32 that rotate in opposite directions and a first folding plate 34 that travels in a reverse direction, and are subjected to a middle folding process. A signature SA is formed in which a fold portion b (see FIG. 8) is formed in the center in the paper width direction.

The signature SA that has been folded in half by the folding rollers 31 and 32 and the first folding plate 34 to form the fold portion b is separated from the nip position of the folding rollers 31 and 32 by the reverse rotation of the folding rollers 31 and 32. And returned to the original horizontal conveyance path. The signature SA is continuously conveyed to the sheet conveyance path r7 in the extension line direction of the fold portion b by a conveyance belt 41 of the conveyance means 40, a conveyance claw 42, and an introduction guide member 51 of the signature guide means 50, which will be described later. It is sent to the means 60 (see FIG. 8).

In this way, the folding means 30 performs a middle folding process on a small number of one to three sheets S, firmly attaches the crease part b, and sequentially feeds it to the saddle stitching means 60, thereby causing the fold part b to bulge. A small number of high-quality sheet bundles SS can be produced.

<Saddle stitching>
The signature SA that has been subjected to the middle folding process in the folding means 30 is advanced in the direction of the sheet conveyance path r7 by the conveyance means 40 described later, and is placed on the hook stacking means 61 of the saddle stitching means 60. The subsequent signature SA that has undergone the middle folding process continues to pass through the sheet transport path r7 and is stacked on the hook stacking means 61.

The hook stacking means 61 is composed of two guide plates that are substantially orthogonal to each other, and is fixed to the main body of the sheet post-processing apparatus B. In the vicinity of the top of the hook stacking means 61, a pressing member 61A that can be lifted and lowered by a spring is supported by the needle receiving mechanism 64 (see FIG. 10).

The top portion of the pressing member 61A has a convex shape that is substantially perpendicular to the upper side, and the fold portion b (see FIG. 8) of the signature SA that has been subjected to the middle folding process is placed on the top ridge line.

The plurality of signatures SA placed on the hook stacking means 61 and the pressing member 61A are aligned by the width aligning means 62.

A needle striking mechanism 63 is fixedly disposed above the pressing member 61A. Inside the hook stacking means 61, a pressing member 61A and a needle receiving mechanism 64 are supported so as to be movable in the vertical direction.

Two sets of binding means having a two-part structure composed of the needle-striking mechanism 63 and the needle-receiving mechanism 64 are arranged in the direction of the sheet fold. When the saddle stitching process is set in the operation unit, the needle receiving mechanism 64 is raised to perform the saddle stitching process. That is, the two sets of binding means strike the binding needles SP at two places in the central distribution along the fold portion b of the signature SA on the pressing member 61A. The sheet bundle SS subjected to the center folding process and the saddle stitching process is shown in the schematic diagram of FIG.

<Removing the booklet>
The sheet bundle SS that has been subjected to the saddle stitching process in the saddle stitching means 60 is held by a support member 72 fixed to the distal end portion of the arm member 71 of the booklet taking-out means 70 and is swung in the direction of the one-dot chain line by the arm member 71. It is conveyed to the booklet conveying means 80.

<Convey booklet>
The sheet bundle SS transported to the booklet transport unit 80 is placed on the transport belt 82. The sheet bundle SS is conveyed obliquely downward by the rotation of the conveyance belt 82, and is further held in an inclined state, and is transported by the rotating conveyance belt 83 and stopped at a predetermined position. Thereafter, the conveyor belt 83 swings and is supported in a horizontal state.

<Booklet cutting process>
Since the edge (a free end portion on the opposite side of the fold portion) a of the sheet bundle SS placed on the transport belt 83 in the horizontal state is uneven depending on the number of sheets of the sheet bundle SS, the present invention. Are cut by the sheet cutting apparatus 100 to align the fore edges a.

The booklet SSS produced by the cutting process is placed on the transport belt 83 that rotates in the reverse direction, and is transported in a state where the rear end portion of the booklet SSS is pressed by the movable alignment member 84 fixed to the transport belt 83. It falls in the direction of the arrow from the tip of the belt 83. The fallen booklet SSS is discharged to a paper discharge tray 86 disposed outside the front side Bf of the paper post-processing apparatus B by a rotating discharge belt 85.

Note that the sheet cutting apparatus 100 according to the present invention is not limited to the edge cutting process of the sheet bundle SS that has been subjected to the half-folding and saddle-stitching process by the sheet post-processing apparatus B, but the side binding illustrated in FIG. The present invention can also be applied to the fore edge cutting process for the processed sheet bundle SS and the fore edge cutting process for the pasted sheet bundle SS shown in FIG.
