一般に、レタスやブドウなどの生鮮食品を包装する場合は、図5に示すようにフィルム包装材1に生鮮食品2を置き、図6に示すようにフィルム包装材1の4隅を生鮮食品2の上部で重ね、図7に示すように重ねたフィルム包装材1の4隅をテープ3でシールするようにしている。又、図8に示すように、パッケージの端部を溶着するために、上部支持部材4と下部支持部材5の一方の端部に突出部4a、5aを設け、この突出部4a、5aに回動軸6を装着し、この回動軸6から離れた位置にバネ7を設け、又、上部支持部材4の他方の端部から振動端8aが突出するように超音波振動子8を装着し、下部支持部材5の他端にアンビル9を装着し、超音波振動子8の振動端8aとアンビル9の間に被溶着物10を挿入し、振動端8aとアンビル9を互いに押し付け合うことにより、超音波振動が発生し、振動端8aとアンビル9との間に挿入された突出した被溶着物10を溶着するようにした超音波溶着器が提案されている。
