マイクロカプセルの皮膜物質としては、澱粉、ポリウレタン、ポリウレア、ポリアミド、ポリエステル、ポリカーボネート等が挙げられるが、澱粉、ポリウレタン、ポリウレアが好ましく、澱粉が特に好ましい。澱粉は水で溶解し比重の違いの原因により流出しがたく、かつ繊維にからみやすいからである。
マイクロカプセルの平均粒子径は、5μm以上100μm以下が好ましい。5μm未満では薬効を十分に発揮できないからである。マイクロカプセル化された殺虫剤組成物中の含有率は、通常1〜40%といわれている。植物繊維の質量に対するマイクロカプセル中の有効成分の添加料は、0.5〜数%の範囲でよい。

殺虫剤有効成分の乾燥後の植物繊維に対する比率は、上記と同様に、0.5〜数%の範囲とする。

ミシン目線またはハーフカット線は切り取り作業に手間どらないように殆どの部分が切断されていて、僅かな部分を切り離しすれば利用できるような形態を工夫する必要がある。周囲の切断加工も同時に行う。このような加工は、抜き刃を用いる平圧打ち抜き加工で可能である。
