Description

The present invention relates to an attachment structure for an EA material (impact energy absorbing material), and more particularly to an attachment structure for an EA material suitable for application to a trim of an automobile.

An EA material made of hard urethane is attached to a door trim of an automobile for energy absorption (EA) at the time of a side collision (side collision). As a method of attaching a hard urethane EA material to the door trim, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-322507 describes a structure shown in FIGS. FIG. 6 is a cross-sectional view showing the EA material mounting structure described in FIG. 7 of the publication, FIG. 7 (a) is a perspective view of the cap 20 used in this structure, and FIG. 7 (b). FIG. 3 is a cross-sectional perspective view of the cap 20.

The cap 20 is integrally provided with a cylindrical portion 21 and an overhang portion 22. A claw portion 23 is provided inward from the tip of the tube portion 21. A concave portion 27 is provided on the outer peripheral surface of the rod 26 protruding from the trim 31, and the claw portion 23 is engaged with the concave portion 27.

Note that a slit 24 extends from the tip of the tube portion 21 in a direction parallel to the axial center line of the tube portion 21, and the tube portion 21 can be elastically deformed in the diameter increasing direction.

To attach the EA material 33 to the trim 31, place the EA material 33 along the surface of the trim 31 so that the rod 26 is inserted into the attachment hole 34 of the EA material 33, and then fit the cap 20 to the rod 26. The claw portion 23 is engaged with the concave portion 27 by pushing. Thereby, the overhanging portion 22 presses the peripheral edge portion of the mounting hole 34 of the EA material 33.

The cylindrical portion 21 has a tapered shape that is easy to insert into the mounting hole 34. When the cap 20 is attached to the rod 26, the outer peripheral surface of the cylindrical portion 21 is in close contact with the inner peripheral surface of the mounting hole 34.

As another conventional example, an EA material mounting method shown in FIG. 5 is known.

In this conventional example, a clip 52 is integrally provided on an EA material 51 made of hard urethane or the like. As shown in FIG. 5 (d), the clip 52 is provided with flanges 54, 54 at both ends of the cylindrical portion 53. The clip 52 is integrated with hard urethane or the like by being attached to a mold when the EA material 51 is foam-molded.

The clip 52 is provided on the overhanging portion 51 a of the EA material 51. As shown in FIGS. 5A and 5B, the EA material 51 is overlapped with the trim 55 so that the columnar protrusion 56 protruding from the trim 55 is inserted into the clip 52. The protrusion 56 is made of a thermoplastic resin such as polyethylene or polypropylene. Next, a welding jig (not shown) is pressed against the tip of the projection 56, and the tip of the projection 56 is enlarged in a substantially disk shape as shown in FIG. 5 (c) to form a flange-like pressing portion 56a. Thereby, the EA material 51 is fixed to the trim 55.
JP 2001-322507 A

In the attachment structure of the EA material shown in FIGS. 5 and 6 and 7, since both the EA materials 51 and 33 are firmly fixed to the trims 55 and 31 and rigidly fixed, Although the mounting strength of the EA material is high, when the trim 55, 31 is warped, a strong force is applied to the side portion of the EA material in a direction away from the trim 55, 31. As a result, the EA material 33 may be peeled off from the trim 31 in the EA material mounting structure shown in FIGS. In the EA material mounting structure shown in FIG. 5, a large shear stress is applied in the direction perpendicular to the trim 55 near the base of the overhang 51a, and cracks occur near the base of the overhang 51a. There is a fear.

Note that such a concave warp of the trim is caused by an impact when the door is opened and closed.

The present invention solves the above-described conventional problems, and the EA material is excellent with respect to a member such as a trim, and even if the member is warped, the EA material does not peel or crack, and has excellent durability. By making the male member and the female member made of a synthetic resin, the durability is improved.

The attachment structure of the EA material of the present invention is extremely suitable for application to the attachment of the EA material to the trim.

Hereinafter, specific embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 is a longitudinal sectional view showing a mounting structure of an EA material according to the embodiment, FIG. 2 is a perspective view showing an EA material and a male member according to the embodiment, and FIG. 3 is a pedestal portion, a male member and FIG. 4 is an exploded perspective view showing the engagement relationship between the female members, and FIG. 4 is a longitudinal sectional view showing the engagement relationship between the pedestal portion, the male member, and the female member.

As shown in FIG. 1, a pedestal 2 is provided on a trim 1 as a member, and an EA material 3 is attached to the pedestal 2. The EA material 3 includes a pad 4 made of a synthetic resin foam such as urethane foam, and a female member 5 integrated when the pad 4 is foam-molded. The EA material 3 is fixed to the trim 1 by inserting and locking the male member 6 attached to the pedestal portion 2 into the female member 5.

As shown in FIG. 2, the EA material 3 is provided with a plurality of female members 5, and each female member 5 is connected to the pedestal portion 2 via a male member 6.

As shown in FIGS. 3 and 4, the pedestal portion 2 includes a peripheral wall portion 7 rising from the trim 1, a top plate portion 8 connected to the upper end of the peripheral wall portion 7, and a slit 9 provided in the top plate portion 8. And a flat support piece 10 which rises from the trim 1 and whose upper end extends along the slit 9. In this embodiment, the peripheral wall portion 7 extends so that the shape facing the trim 1 is substantially U-shaped or semicircular. The top plate portion 8 is also U-shaped or semicircular, and a slit 9 extends in a direction orthogonal to the one side 8 a from one side 8 a not connected to the peripheral wall portion 7. The support piece 10 has a slightly lower standing height than the peripheral wall portion 7, and extends in the same direction as the slit 9.

In the male member 6, a first flange 11, a second flange 12, and a third flange 13 are provided in three stages in parallel from the lower side, and a head portion 14 protrudes upward from the third flange 13. The head portion 14 is an undercut portion 14b with a lower portion along the third flange 13 and the upper side of the undercut portion 14b is an overhang portion 14a. In order to make the overhanging portion 14a elastically deformable in the narrow direction, a gap portion 14c is provided in the head portion 14. The gap portion 14c penetrates from one side surface of the head portion 14 to the other side surface. The overhanging portion 14a can be elastically deformed so as to recede into the gap portion 14c.

In the male member 6, a portion between the first flange 11 and the second flange 12 is inserted into the slit 9 of the base portion 2, and both side edges of the slit 9 are sandwiched between the first flange 11 and the second flange 12. It is attached to the base part 2 by doing.

The female member 5 includes a cylindrical portion 16, an outward flange portion 17 that is circumferentially provided outward from one end of the cylindrical portion 16 in the cylinder axial direction (the upper end in FIGS. 3 and 4), and a cylindrical axis of the cylindrical portion 16. An inward flange 18 is provided inward from the other end in the direction (the lower end in FIGS. 3 and 4). The inward flange 18 serves as a step for locking the overhanging portion 14a. A space in the cylindrical portion 16 serves as an insertion portion 19. The outward flange 17 functions as an anchor that prevents the female member 5 from being detached from the pad 4.

In order to attach the EA material 3 including the female member 5 to the trim 1, the male member 6 is attached to the pedestal portion 2, the EA material 3 is approached toward the trim 1, and the male member is placed in each female member 5. 6 is inserted at the upper end of the head section 14. When the EA material 3 is strongly pressed toward the trim 1, the overhanging portion 14 a is elastically deformed so as to retract toward the gap portion 14 c, and the head portion 14 enters the insertion portion 19. When the overhanging portion 14a passes through the inward flange portion 18 as a stepped portion, the overhanging portion 14a elastically returns to its original shape, and as shown in FIG. 4, the overhanging portion 14a and the third flange 13 The inner peripheral edge of the inward flange 18 is held between them. Thereby, the EA material 3 is fixedly attached to the trim 1.

In this EA material mounting structure, as shown in FIG. 1, a gap S corresponding to the standing height of the pedestal 2 exists between the EA material 3 and the trim 1. Therefore, even if the trim 1 is warped, the EA material 3 is not dropped from the trim 1 or the EA material 3 is not cracked.

In this embodiment, the EA material 3 can be attached to the trim 1 by a so-called one-touch operation in which the EA material 3 is pushed toward the trim 1, and the attachment workability of the EA material 3 is good.

The above embodiment is an example of the present invention, and the present invention may take forms other than those shown in the drawings. For example, the number of female members 5 and male members 6 may be more or less than shown. Moreover, the thing of shapes other than illustration may be employ | adopted as a female member and a male member.

The shape of the EA material 3 is not limited to the illustrated one.
