Description

The present invention relates to a portable terminal that notifies a user of an incoming call by using a ring tone and an incoming light.

As shown in FIG. 8, the conventional portable terminal is provided with a display unit 101 for displaying various types of information at the top of the terminal body 100, and a key operation unit 102 below the display unit 101. A speaker 103 for outputting sound is provided above and a front LED 104 for notifying the user of an incoming call is provided in the vicinity of the speaker 103.
Further, a backside LED 105 for notifying the user of an incoming call is also provided on the backside of the terminal body 100.

According to this portable terminal, since the LEDs 104 and 105 are provided on the front side and the back side of the terminal body 100, respectively, either the front side or the back side of the terminal body 100 is placed on the lower side. The user can see either the front LED 104 or the back LED 105.
Therefore, it is clear that the mobile terminal has received an incoming call (for example, Patent Document 1).
JP 2003-298692 A

However, since the conventional portable terminal is provided with the LEDs 104 and 105 on the front side and the back side of the terminal body 100, it is necessary to provide a plurality (two) of LEDs.
In addition, since the conventional portable terminal arranges the speaker 103 and the front LED 104 individually above the display unit 101, it is necessary to secure a large area for providing the speaker 103 and the front LED 104. This hinders the terminal body 100 from being made compact.

The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object of the present invention is to provide a portable terminal that can reliably recognize an incoming call and can be made compact.

The portable terminal of the present invention has a sound hole formed on one surface of the housing, a speaker and a light source disposed in the vicinity of the sound hole and inside the housing, and light projected from the light source. A light guide member having an exposed portion exposed to the other surface of the housing and leading to a portion facing the hole, and a sound guide formed by the light guide member for guiding the sound generated from the speaker to the sound hole And a passage.

The light guide member guides light from the light source to the sound hole and to the exposed portion. Therefore, with one light source, light can be emitted from the sound hole on one side of the housing, and light can be emitted from the exposed portion on the other side.
Furthermore, by forming a sound guide path with the light guide member, the sound generated from the speaker is guided to the sound hole.
Therefore, on one side of the housing, when an incoming call is received, both the ringtone and incoming display light are notified, and on the other side, the incoming display light is notified.
Thereby, the user can recognize the incoming call from either side of the housing.

In addition, since one side of the housing is notified by both the ring tone and the incoming display light when an incoming call is received, it is confirmed that the sound emitted from the sound hole is emitted from the sound hole. The user can be strongly recognized.

Furthermore, since the light guide member also serves as a sound guide path, and only the light guide member guides light to the surfaces on both sides of the housing, the number of components such as a light source is reduced, and the size can be reduced.

Moreover, the portable terminal of the present invention is characterized in that the light guide member is provided with a wall portion serving also as the sound guide path at a portion facing the sound hole.

A sound guide path can be obtained with a simple configuration in which a wall is provided on the light guide member. Therefore, simplification of the shape of the light guide member is achieved.

According to the present invention, since the light guide member also serves as a sound guide path and the light is guided to the surfaces on both sides of the housing by one light source, the number of parts is reduced and the compactness can be achieved.

As shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, in the mobile terminal 10 according to the first embodiment, the lower end 15 of the upper casing 14 is connected to the upper end 12 of the lower casing 11 via a connecting member 13. The connecting member 13 is rotatably attached to the upper end portion 12 of the lower housing 11 via the vertical axis 16. An upper housing 14 is rotatably attached to the horizontal shaft 17 of the connecting member 13.
Therefore, the upper housing 14 can rotate in the direction of arrow A about the vertical axis 16 and can rotate in the direction of arrow B about the horizontal axis 17.

The lower casing 11 is provided with a key operation part 19 on one surface 18 and a microphone 21 on a lower end part 20.
The upper housing 14 includes an upper housing cover 22 and an upper housing outer cover 23. The upper housing cover 22 includes a liquid crystal display unit 25 on a surface (one surface) 24, a sound hole 26 for a first receiver above the liquid crystal display unit 25, and a second receiver below the liquid crystal display unit 25. An internal sound hole 27 is provided.

As shown in FIG. 2, the lower housing outer cover 23 includes an outer sound hole 31 for the second receiver at the lower end portion 15 of the surface (the other surface) 30 (see FIG. 2). An outside light hole 32 for incoming display light through which the light 28 (see FIG. 7) passes is provided in the vicinity.

As shown in FIG. 3, a speaker 34 and an LED (light source) 35 are provided in the vicinity of the inner sound hole 27 for the second receiver inside the upper casing 14 formed by the upper casing cover 22 and the upper casing outer cover 23. Is provided.
As an example, the speaker 34 generates a sound for notifying an incoming call when receiving an incoming call, and generates a sound during a call. As an example, the LED 35 projects light for notifying an incoming call when an incoming call is received.

As shown in FIG. 4, a light guide member 37 is provided inside the upper housing 14 and in a space between the speaker 34 and the LED 35 and the inner sound hole 27 for the second receiver.
As shown in FIG. 6, the light guide member 37 guides the light 28 projected from the LED 35 to the portion 43 facing the inner sound hole 27 and is exposed on one surface 24 of the upper housing 14. (See FIGS. 5 and 7).
The portion 39 is provided to support the light guide member 37 by contacting the inner surface of the upper housing cover 22 of the upper housing 14.

The light guide member 37 has a concave curved surface 42 facing the projection surface of the LED 35 (see FIGS. 6 and 7), a wall portion 44 is formed at a portion 43 facing the inner sound hole 27, and the top portion of the wall portion 44. 44a faces the inner sound hole 27, the part 39 is formed in a trapezoidal shape in plan view in accordance with the shape of the inner surface of the upper casing cover 22, and the exposed portion 40 is inserted into the incoming display light hole 32, thereby receiving the incoming call. The exposed portion 40 is exposed to the outside from the display light hole 32.

By setting the surface facing the projection surface of the LED 35 as the concave curved surface 42, the light 28 projected from the LED 37 is efficiently taken in by the curved surface 42.
The light 28 taken from the curved surface 42 passes through the light guide member 37 and is guided to the top portion 44 a of the wall portion 44 and the exposed portion 40.

The light 28 guided to the top 44 a of the wall 44 is projected from the inner sound hole 27 to the outside of the upper housing cover 22.
The light 28 guided to the exposed portion 40 is projected to the outside of the upper housing outer cover 23 from the portion 40 exposed from the incoming display light hole 32.

Here, a mesh sheet 46 is attached to the inner sound hole 27. By changing the color, material, and mesh number of the mesh sheet 46, the appearance of the light 28 projected from the inner sound hole 27 to the outside of the upper housing cover 22 can be changed variously.
The user can select an appearance that suits the user's preference from among the appearances of the light 28 that changes variously.

The wall portion 44 provided in the light guide member 37 is a portion that also serves as the sound guide passage 48. The sound guide passage 48 is a passage for guiding the sound 49 (see FIG. 6) generated from the speaker 34 to the inner sound hole 27.
As shown in FIG. 5, the surface of the wall 44 facing the speaker 34 is an inclined surface 44c so as to gradually approach the inner sound hole 27 from the base 44b toward the top 44a.
Thereby, the sound generated from the speaker 34 is efficiently guided to the inner sound hole 27, and the ring tone and the sound during the call are transmitted to the outside of the upper housing cover 22.

According to the mobile terminal 10, the light guide member 37 also serves as the sound guide path 44, and only the light guide member 37 emits light on both sides of the upper housing 14 (that is, one side 24 and the other side 30). Therefore, the number of components such as the LED (light source) 35 can be reduced.
Furthermore, since the sound guide passage 48 can be obtained with a simple configuration in which the wall portion 44 is simply provided in the light guide member 37, the shape of the light guide member 37 can be simplified.

Next, the operation of the mobile terminal 10 will be described mainly based on FIGS.
When a call arrives at the mobile terminal 10, a ring tone 49 is generated from the speaker 34 and light 28 is projected from the LED 35.
The ring tone 49 generated from the speaker 34 is guided to the inner sound hole 27 through the sound guide passage 48, that is, the inclined surface 44 c of the wall 44, and is transmitted from the inner sound hole 27 to the outside of the upper housing cover 22.
Also, the ring tone 49 generated from the speaker 34 is transmitted to the outside of the upper casing outer cover 23 from the outer sound hole 31 (see FIG. 5).

On the other hand, the light 28 projected from the LED 35 is taken into the light guide member 37 from the curved surface 42, guided to the top 44 c of the wall 44, and from the inner sound hole 27 reaching the top 44 c of the upper housing cover 22. Projected outward.
Further, the light 28 introduced from the curved surface 42 into the light guide member 37 and guided to the exposed portion 40 (see FIG. 7) is transmitted from the portion 40 exposed from the external light hole 32 for incoming display light to the upper casing outer cover. 23 is projected outside.

As described above, according to the mobile terminal 10, the sound guide passage 48 is formed by the light guide member 37, thereby guiding the ring tone 49 generated from the speaker 34 to the inner sound hole 27 and to the outer sound hole 31. Lead. With one speaker 34, a ring tone 49 can be generated from the inner sound hole 27 of the upper casing 14, and a ring tone 49 is generated from the outer sound hole 31 of the upper casing 14.
Further, the light guide member 37 guides the light 28 from the LED 35 to the inner sound hole 27 and to the exposed portion 40. One LED 35 can emit light 28 from the inner sound hole 27 of the upper housing 14 and emit light from the exposed portion 40.

Therefore, on one surface 24 side of the upper housing 14, when an incoming call is received, both the ring tone 49 and the incoming display light 28 are notified, and on the other surface 30 side, the incoming sound 49 and the incoming display light 28 are also displayed. And both.
As a result, the user can reliably recognize an incoming call from the surface 24 or 30 on either side of the upper housing 14.

On the one surface 24 side of the upper housing 14, a ring tone 49 is generated from the inner sound hole 27 and an incoming display light 28 is projected from the inner sound hole 27 when receiving a call.
It is possible to make the user of the mobile terminal 10 strongly recognize that the sound 49 is emitted from the inner sound hole 27 by light emission from the inner sound hole 27.

Here, the mobile terminal 10 can make a call in three modes shown in FIGS. That is, as shown in FIG. 1, the lower casing 11 and the upper casing 14 of the portable terminal 10 are opened, and a call is made using the sound hole 26 for the first receiver and the microphone 21.
Further, as shown in FIG. 2, the lower casing 11 and the upper casing 14 of the mobile terminal 10 are closed with the upper casing outer cover 23 outside, and the outer sound hole 31 for the second receiver and the microphone are closed. 21 (see FIG. 1).
Further, as shown in FIG. 3, the lower casing 11 and the upper casing 14 of the mobile terminal 10 are closed with the upper casing cover 22 outside, and the inner sound hole 27 and the microphone for the second receiver are closed. 21 (see FIG. 1).
