Abstract
Description
1.技術分野
本発明は、映像録画システムの分野に関し、さらに詳しくは、映像コンテンツを記録し、索引を付け、ナビゲーションを行うシステムおよび方法に関する。
映像録画技術、例えばビデオカセットレコーダ(VCR)やデジタルビデオレコーダ(DVR)は、ビデオ番組をいつどのように見るかに関して、消費者が制御することを向上してきた。VCRの登場以来、消費者は放送映像(例えばテレビ放送、ケーブル放送、衛星放送)を記録し、後からそれを見ることができるようになった。映像番組は、ビデオカセット等の記憶媒体に記録する。ユーザは、そのビデオカセットからの番組を余暇に見ることができる。VCRは、保存した番組を見る上で、ナビゲーション機能も提供する。VCRは例えば、番組の各部において、それを見ながらあるいは見ないまま、一時停止、早送り、巻き戻しをユーザに可能にする。いくつかのVCRは、追加のナビゲーション機能を提供する。スローモーション、可変早送り、可変巻き戻し等である。ただしこれら機能の品質は、関係するアナログ技術によって限度がある。録画番組を見る消費者は、早送り機能を使用し、見たくない内容を早送りできる。この機能は、一般的に、録画番組のコマーシャルをスキップするために使われるようになった。
以下に説明する本発明の実施例は、映像信号またはデータストリーム中にイベントを検出することの改良を提供する。記載の実施例は映像イベントを識別するに際し、映像フレームの少なくとも一部の輝度を計算し、その輝度と閾値輝度とを比較する。この閾値輝度は、映像番組やコマーシャル等の映像内容の輝度値と、遷移イベントの輝度値との間の遷移点に対応する。遷移イベントとは、例えば隣接するコマーシャルと番組部との間に置かれる黒フィールドである。閾値輝度は特定の映像提示用に計算できる。これは、その映像提示内の各フレームの輝度を計算し、輝度によってフレームをグループ分けすることで行う。前記閾値輝度の決定は、映像内容に対応する第1輝度値グループと、遷移イベントに対応する第2輝度値グループとの間の遷移点を識別することによって行う。本発明の幾つかの実施例は、コマーシャル検出方法、映像イベント閾値決定方法、映像イベント検出方法、および映像イベントを検出してコマーシャル検出あるいは他の強化型コンテンツナビゲーションを可能にする映像再生装置を含む。
以下において、本発明に基づく1以上の実施例の詳細を説明する。この詳細は、システム構成、ブロックモジュール図、フローチャート、および記述を含む。これら詳細は、本発明の1以上の実施例を理解する上で一助となるが、当業者には明らかな通り、本発明を実施する上で必要なものではない。
Claims (23)
- 複数の映像フレームについて複数の輝度値を決定し、
前記複数の輝度値の第1グループと前記複数の輝度値の第2グループとの間の閾値を識別することを備え、前記第1グループは前記複数の映像フレームの映像内容に実質的に対応し、前記第2グループは前記複数の映像フレームの遷移イベントに実質的に対応する、映像イベント閾値を決定する方法。 - 前記複数の映像フレームは提示映像を構成し、前記複数の輝度値は当該提示映像の各映像フレームに対応する、請求項1の方法。
- 前記閾値を用いて前記提示映像内に映像イベントを識別することをさらに備える、請求項2の方法。
- 連続する輝度範囲に関連付けた複数の輝度帯を定義し、
前記複数の輝度帯に基づき、前記複数の輝度値から輝度ヒストグラムを構成することをさらに備える、請求項1の方法。 - 前記遷移点は前記複数の輝度帯から選択した1輝度帯である、請求項4の方法。
- 前記複数の映像フレーム各々の一部に限定した検出ウインドウを定義することをさらに備える、請求項1の方法。
- 積極性設定に基づき前記閾値を変更することをさらに備える、請求項1の方法。
- 提示映像内に選択した映像フレームについて輝度を計算し、当該提示映像は複数の映像フレームを含み、
前記輝度値と閾値とを比較し、当該閾値は前記提示映像の各映像フレームに対応する複数の輝度値から計算し、
前記輝度値と前記閾値との比較に基づき、前記選択した映像フレームを映像イベントとして識別することを含む、映像イベントを検出する方法。 - 前記閾値は、第1輝度値グループと第2輝度値グループ間に1点を定義することによって計算し、前記第1輝度値グループは前記提示映像内の映像内容に実質的に対応し、前記第2輝度値グループは前記提示映像内の遷移イベントに実質的に対応する、請求項8の方法。
- 前記第1輝度値グループと前記第2輝度値グループは、連続する輝度範囲に対応した複数の輝度帯に関連付けられ、前記輝度帯は輝度ヒストグラムを定義する、請求項9の方法。
- 前記1点は、前記第1グループに対応する第1輝度帯ピークと前記第2グループに対応する第2輝度帯ピークとの間に入る輝度帯に対応する、請求項10の方法。
- 前記輝度値を計算することは、前記映像フレーム内の複数のピクセルの輝度成分を合計することを含む、請求項8の方法。
- 前記選択した映像フレーム内に検出ウインドウを定義することをさらに備え、当該検出ウインドウは前記選択した映像フレームの一部であって前記輝度値を計算するために使用する部分を含む、請求項8の方法。
- 選択した映像フレームについて輝度を計算する輝度検出器と、
第1輝度値グループと第2輝度値グループ間に閾値を決定するものであって、前記第1輝度値グループは映像内容に実質的に対応し、前記第2輝度値グループは遷移イベントに実質的に対応する閾値計算器と、
前記輝度検出器からの輝度値と前記閾値計算器からの閾値とを比較し、映像イベントを識別するイベントハンドラとを備える、映像再生装置。 - 前記選択した映像フレーム内に検出ウインドウを定義するウインドウ定義モジュールをさらに備え、当該検出ウインドウは前記選択した映像フレームの一部であって前記輝度値を計算するために使用する部分を含む、請求項14の映像再生装置。
- 前記第1輝度値グループと前記第2輝度値グループとは、前記選択した映像フレームと同一提示映像内の他の複数映像フレームから計算する、請求項14の映像再生装置。
- 前記第1輝度値グループと前記第2輝度値グループとは、連続する輝度範囲に対応した複数の輝度帯に関連付けられ、当該輝度帯は輝度ヒストグラムを定義する、請求項14の映像再生装置。
- 前記閾値は、前記第1グループに対応する第1輝度帯ピークと前記第2グループに対応する第2輝度帯ピークとの間に入る輝度帯に基づき計算する、請求項17の映像再生装置。
- 前記選択した映像フレームの音声成分のあらかじめ定義した特徴を検出する音声特徴検出器をさらに備え、前記あらかじめ定義した特徴は前記イベントハンドラが使用することによって前記映像イベントを識別する、請求項14の映像再生装置。
- 調整可能許容値を定義する積極性設定モジュールをさらに備え、当該調整可能許容値を前記イベントハンドラが使用することにより、前記輝度検出器からの輝度値と前記閾値計算器からの閾値とを比較し、前記映像イベントを識別する、請求項14の映像再生装置。
- 前記イベントハンドラが識別した映像イベントをインデックスファイル内に保存し、保存した提示映像の再生中にそれを使用する、請求項14の映像再生装置。
- 複数の映像フレームについて複数の輝度値を決定し、
前記複数の輝度値の第1グループと前記複数の輝度値の第2グループとの間の閾値を識別する各命令を備え、前記第1グループは前記複数の映像フレームの映像内容に実質的に対応し、前記第2グループは前記複数の映像フレームの遷移イベントに実質的に対応する、実行すると映像イベント閾値の決定を行うソフトウエア命令セットを保存したコンピュータ読み取り可能記憶媒体。 - 提示映像内に選択した映像フレームについて輝度を計算し、当該提示映像は複数の映像フレームを含み、
前記輝度値と閾値とを比較し、当該閾値は前記提示映像の各映像フレームに対応する複数の輝度値から計算し、
前記輝度値と前記閾値との比較に基づき、前記選択した映像フレームを映像イベントとして識別する各命令を備え、実行すると映像イベントの検出を行うソフトウエア命令セットを保存したコンピュータ読み取り可能記憶媒体。
