Abstract
【解決手段】互いに対向する2つの基板と2つの基板の間に注入され、正の誘電率異方性を有する液晶物質層からなる液晶表示板組立体を含む。また、液晶表示板組立体の外側面には、一対の偏光板が各々取り付けられており、液晶表示板組立体と偏光板の間には、各々波長が増加するに従って△nが増加する逆波長分散性(reverse wavelength dispersion)を有する陽性(positive)または陰性(negative)のaプレート補償フィルムと陰性のハイブリッドcプレート補償フィルムが挟まれている。
Description
実験例1
実験例1では、互いに異なる補償フィルムを備えた液晶表示装置がブラック(black)状態を表示するときの上側視野角の変化による青色変異及び視野角特性に対し、セル間隔によって光学的シミュレーションで計算した。
実験例2
実験例2では、aプレート補償フィルムの遅延値を様々に適用した液晶表示装置がホワイト(white)状態若しくはブラック(black)状態を表示する時に、上側視野角の変化による青色変異及び視野角特性を実際の液晶パネルを製造して測定した。
Claims (11)
- 2つの基板と前記2つの基板の間に注入されている液晶物質層を含み、反対側に位置する第1面及び第2面を有している液晶表示板組立体と、
前記液晶表示板組立体の第1面と第2面に取り付けられた第1偏光板及び第2偏光板と、
前記液晶表示板組立体の第1面と前記第1偏光板の間に挿入されている逆波長分散性の第1aプレート補償フィルムと、
を含む液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶表示板組立体の第2面と前記第2偏光板の間、または前記第1aプレート補償フィルムと前記第1偏光板の間に取り付けられている第1ハイブリッドcプレート補償フィルムをさらに含む、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶表示板組立体の第2面と前記第2偏光板の間に挿入されている逆波長分散性の第2aプレート補償フィルムと、
第2ハイブリッドcプレート補償フィルムと、
をさらに含み、前記第1及び第2ハイブリッドcプレート補償フィルムは、各々前記第1aプレート補償フィルムと前記第1偏光板の間、及び前記第2aプレート補償フィルムと前記第2偏光板の間に各々挿入されている、請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶表示板組立体と前記第1または第2偏光板の間に取り付けられている正波長分散性の第3aプレート補償フィルムをさらに含む、請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1aプレート補償フィルムは2軸性を有する、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1aプレート補償フィルムは、|ny-nz|<0.1×|nx-nz|の条件を満たす、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1aプレート補償フィルムの遅延値は、550nmの光波長範囲では5nm〜45nmであり、400nmの光波長範囲では(0.4〜0.7)×(550nmの光波長範囲における遅延値)であり、650nmの光波長範囲では(1.1〜1.4)×(550nmの光波長範囲における遅延値)である、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶層は、前記液晶物質層の液晶分子が前記基板に対して平行に配列され、互いに異なる基板に到るまで螺旋形に捩じれて配列されているねじれネマチック方式である、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記ねじれネマチック方式の液晶表示板組立体において、前記2つの基板間の間隔(d)は、3.5〜4.5μmの範囲であり、前記液晶物質層の遅延値(Δn×d)は、0.35〜0.48の範囲である、請求項8に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶層は、前記液晶物質層の液晶分子が前記基板に対して垂直に配列されている垂直配向型である、請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記垂直配向型の液晶表示板組立体において、前記2つの基板間の間隔(d)は、3.5〜4.0μmの範囲であり、前記液晶物質層の遅延値(Δn×d)は、0.25〜0.35μmの範囲である、請求項10に記載の液晶表示装置。
