Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a technology for suppressing weed growth intended for horticulture such as road green zones, roadside trees, park greenery, home gardening, and more specifically, with cedar or cypress bark, or an extract thereof as a main component, By adding a natural material to this as it is or as a natural material, a weed growth inhibitor that can be maintained naturally and can maintain a circulatory ecosystem, and a weed growth inhibitor that shares the same main component with it.
Conventionally, herbicides have been used to control weeds, but most of these are based on chemically synthesized substances, including acute toxicity to humans, residual and accumulated toxicity, carcinogenicity, and teratogenicity. There are concerns about the destruction of ecosystems in the environment. Therefore, in recent years, it has been proposed to control weeds using natural materials instead of these chemical compounds.
For example, Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 11-241065 discloses a soil improvement material in which granular carbon is mixed with an aggregate of needle-like fibers. This is to improve the CCI method, which uses the repellent insecticidal effect of cedar and cypress bark instead of pesticides, improve water retention by adding granular charcoal, and improve the growth of turf, etc. . Used to improve parks and playgrounds. However, this is only as a soil conditioner and cannot be laid at the base of seedlings and used to control the growth of weeds.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2000-83492 discloses that a dry-distilled solution of a plant having an inhibitory effect on germination of weeds is adsorbed on an inorganic mineral and mixed with the bark to produce a laminated mulching material mainly composed of bark. . Bamboo vinegar and wood vinegar are shown as examples of the dry distillation liquid. As an example of the inorganic mineral, silica or the like having high oil absorption ability is shown. Thereby, it is said that the ability to suppress germination of coniferous bark is compensated for, and the ability to suppress germination can be increased and maintained for a long time. However, since it is configured as a mulching material, it cannot be used freely for pots or the like in which flowers are planted to suppress the growth of weeds.
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2001-31969 discloses a soil improvement material obtained by carbonizing bark such as cedar and cypress in an anaerobic state or a low oxygen state. This soil improvement material can be used for soil quality improvement of a ground baseball field, a tennis court, etc., and it is shown that generation | occurrence | production of weeds can be suppressed. However, this is for maintenance of a ground or the like, and cannot be used for suppressing the growth of weeds in flower beds on which flowers grow.
Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open No. 2002-154912 discloses an example in which a pulverized product such as pruned branches and a resin are kneaded to form a sheet, which is used as a weed suppression sheet. This is a so-called weed padding mat and can prevent the grass from growing by maintaining the light shielding property and penetration resistance. However, resin is used for the sheet, and only a growth suppressing effect due to light shielding can be expected.
Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 2002-309687 discloses a hinokiol-containing body laying material extracted from cypress, which is intended to be laid under or around the floor of a building. Hinokiol has been shown to be able to prevent termites from entering because of its antibacterial and insecticidal functions. However, this can only be used as a building material.
As described above, the conventional techniques for suppressing weed growth indicate the need for a weed growth inhibitory function, and as a weed growth inhibitor (material) for pure horticulture, while observing the weed growth inhibitory effect of cypress and cedar. In addition, weed growth inhibitors (materials) have been developed that can be easily sprayed or laid on parks, existing green areas, gardens, planting pots, and existing fields, and that do not have any adverse environmental impact on the soil after laying. There wasn't.
As described above, cedar and cypress are naturally occurring plants, and it is known that the growth process contains antibacterial substances and various plant growth inhibitory substances from the principle of natural selection. . This substance is a natural substance that has been involved in the maintenance of ecosystems in the natural environment so far, and is an environmentally friendly substance that does not lead to environmental destruction. Therefore, the present invention focuses on these characteristics of bark that is currently treated in large quantities as waste, and an object thereof is to make it widely used in general horticulture as a weed growth inhibitor (material).
Also, select natural substances that can be used as soil conditioners from purified water sludge for industrial waterworks and waterworks, incinerated ash from papermaking sludge, lime, and shells, and mix these with ingredients for inhibiting weed growth of cypress or cedar. High-value-added weed growth inhibitor that can be made into a lump or sheet shape, not only the weed growth suppression effect but also the landscaping for horticulture, and finally fertilizer, and weed growth that shares it with the main component An object is to provide an inhibitor.
The weed growth inhibitor by the extract of the present invention for solving the above problems is a cedar or cypress bark cut or ground to 2 mm mesh or less, water, 0.01N to 0.1N aqueous alkaline solution, or hexane. It is characterized by being immersed in one or more organic solvents selected from acetone, ethanol and methanol, extracted, and containing no other chemicals. Do not add any other drugs. The extract contains an active ingredient such as hinokiol that can suppress weed growth at a high concentration. Therefore, the growth of weeds growing on the soil surface can be suppressed by diluting this or this concentrated solution to an appropriate concentration and spraying it on the horticultural soil. In order to enhance the effect, it is preferable to weed and clean the soil surface before use. Long-lasting effects are expected after use, and labor can be reduced by reducing the number of sprays. The extract of cedar or cypress existing in nature is the main component, has little biotoxicity, and can be used as an environment-friendly weed growth inhibitor.
In the case of an alkaline aqueous solution of 0.01N to 0.1N, the extract is adjusted to
Next, the lump weed growth suppression material of the present invention is a natural component such as purified water sludge, paper sludge incineration ash, lime, shellfish powder, etc., selected as a soil improvement material, cedar or cypress as a weed growth suppression effect agent. A bark pulverized product or an extract extracted from the pulverized product is added, and an organic binder is added thereto to form a lump.
Use cedar or cypress bark cut or crushed to 2 mm mesh or less. The compounding ratio of the bark, the soil improvement material, and the binder is 1: 0 to 50: 0 to 50 (volume: weight: weight). The binder can be selected from one or more of biodegradable plastics, starch, egg whites, trolley mushrooms, and Noroitsugi.
The size of the agglomeration is about 2 to 5 cm, and is determined according to the use of the park, flower bed, home flower bed, vegetable garden, flowering tree, pot, etc. In general, large grains are used for large areas and small grains are used for small areas. It does not matter if they are mixed.
When laying a massive weed growth control material in a horticultural field, first pull the grass of the horticultural land, clean it, and then seed the grains to form 2-3 layers. This makes the garden look very beautiful. In the case of pearl shell powder, there is a sense of quality. When water is sprayed from above, the main component of the weed growth inhibitor is stained in a small amount in the soil and suppresses the growth of weeds over a long period of time. When the effect diminishes, for example, after one year, it is integrated with the soil and becomes soil nutrients and returns to the soil. A new weed growth suppression material can be laid again from above.
Granular weed growth control material can be laid down to 10cm below the ground. As a result, an effect similar to that obtained by spraying an effective ingredient over the entire ground is produced, so that weeds, particularly small weed seeds, are unlikely to sprout, and the growth of small roots is suppressed. Large seeds and already growing flowers and trees have no significant effect.
The extract can be used in place of cedar or cypress bark. In this case, the blending ratio of the extract, the soil improvement material, and the binder is 1: 1 to 100: 1 to 50 (volume: weight: weight). By finishing it into a lump with an outer diameter of 2 to 5 cm, the same action and effect as those using bark can be obtained. The same applies to points that can be laid in the ground.
The sheet-like weed growth inhibitor is a cedar or cypress bark cut or crushed to 2 to 5 cm, virgin pulp and waste paper pulp, and a binder of 1: 0.1 to 10: 0 to 10 (weight ratio). It is obtained by mixing at a ratio and processing into a sheet up to a thickness of 10 cm. By laying it on the soil that has been leveled, weed growth can be suppressed and complete control can be achieved. Unlike the grass mats shown in the conventional example, since no resin is used, it can be smashed, and after a certain period of time, it can be smashed finely to make soil nutrients embedded in the ground.
Sheet-like weed growth control materials can also be buried at a depth of up to 10cm in the ground. According to this method, by burying in the ground, it is possible to grow small vegetation above it, and to suppress the growth of small weeds in that portion. The dispersion of the effective component is due to the capillary action of rainwater. When the effect diminishes, for example, it can be cultivated with tractors and finely crushed to obtain nutrients in the soil.
According to the weed growth inhibitor by the cedar or cypress bark extract of the present invention, the weed growth inhibitory effect inherent to the cedar or cypress bark can be obtained at a high concentration, and it can be used for gardening while appropriately diluting it. Can be used. Since only the cedar or cypress bark is used, there is little impact on the environment, and it can be used with confidence.
According to the lump weed growth suppression material of the present invention, since all the materials are only natural products involved in the maintenance of the ecosystem, there is little impact on the environment. Moreover, since it is a block shape, it is easy to use it for horticulture, and it is only necessary to lay it on soil that has been leveled and cleaned, and weed growth can be effectively suppressed. When the growth-suppressing effect is weakened, it can be laid in the soil as a nutrient. The horticultural objects can be neatly decorated with the lump, especially when using pearl shell powder.
According to the sheet-like weed growth suppression material of the present invention, it is possible to expect a control effect over that of a normal weed removal mat, and it is possible to suppress the growth of grass that grows in the gaps of the mat. In addition, since the product is only hardened with an organic binder, unnecessary folds can be finely crushed and soaked into the soil to become nutrients. The sheet-like weed growth suppression material can be buried up to 10 cm in the ground, and can grow plants above this, and can suppress weed growth in the upper soil.
Hereinafter, an example is shown and an optimal form for carrying out the present invention is explained.

Any one may be sufficient and a mixture may be sufficient. Depending on the mixing ratio, it can be classified into cedar extract, cypress extract and the like. It is also possible to display the ratio.

FIG. 5 is a diagram comparing root lengths (cm) in the same test.
As shown in the figure, regarding stem length, although there is a difference depending on the type of plant, a growth suppressing function of 25 to 70% was observed. Moreover, regarding root length, the growth inhibitory effect of 5.3 to 80% was recognized although there was a difference similarly by plant kind. The effect on Gramineae plants is significant on Gramineae weeds with roots.
