Abstract
【解決手段】 脳内の部分的に閉塞した血管などの血管疾患の治療に用いられる一体型のバルーンカテーテル及び自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。自己拡張型ステントは、好ましくは細長いコアワイヤに取り付けられ、バルーンカテーテルのデリバリー内腔内に配置され、一対の作動可能な保持リングによって圧縮された状態で細長いコアワイヤに保持される。ステントが血管に適切に配置されたら、作動可能な保持リングを作動させて、圧縮されたステントを解放して血管内で拡張させることができる。

Description
本願は、2003年8月29日出願の米国特許出願第10/651,569号(代理人整理番号CRD5035)(名称「血管狭窄の治療用の自己拡張型ステント及びデリバリーシステム(Self Expanding Stent and Stent Delivery System for Treatment of Vascular Stenosis)」)の恩典を請求するものである。
(1)自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステムであって、内部を通る内腔を有するデリバリーカテーテルと、前記デリバリーカテーテルの前記内腔内にスライド可能に配置された細長いコア部材と、前記細長いコア部材に取り付けられた自己拡張型ステントと、前記ステントを前記細長いコア部材に圧縮された状態で保持するために前記自己拡張型ステントの周りに配置され、作動すると前記自己拡張型ステントを解放して前記自己拡張型ステントが血管の壁部に対して拡張できるようにする作動可能な保持リングとを含むことを特徴とする自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
(2)前記作動可能な保持リングが、加熱されると降伏して圧縮された自己拡張型ステントが拡張して血管の壁部に接触できるようになる材料から形成されることを特徴とする実施態様(1)に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
(3)更に、前記作動可能な保持リングの近傍に配置された加熱要素と前記加熱要素に接続された導線とを含み、前記導線にエネルギーが加えられると前記加熱要素の温度が上昇して前記作動可能な保持リングの温度が上昇し、これにより前記作動可能な保持リングが降伏して前記ステントが血管の壁部に対して拡張できるようになることを特徴とする実施態様(2)に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
(4)前記作動可能な保持リングがポリマー繊維からなることを特徴とする実施態様(3)に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
(5)前記作動可能な保持リングが、熱溶融ポリマーからなるフィラメントから形成されることを特徴とする実施態様(4)に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
(7)自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステムであって、内部を通る内腔を有するデリバリーカテーテルと、前記デリバリーカテーテルの前記内腔内にスライド可能に配置された細長いコア部材と、前記細長いコア部材に取り付けられた自己拡張型ステントと、前記自己拡張型ステントを前記細長いコア部材に圧縮された状態で保持するために前記ステントに取り付けられ、作動すると前記自己拡張型ステントを解放して前記自己拡張型ステントが血管の壁部に対して拡張できるようにする作動可能な保持部材とを含むことを特徴とする自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
(8)前記作動可能な保持部材が、電流によって作動されると前記作動可能な保持部材が前記ステントを解放するようになる材料から形成されることを特徴とする実施態様(7)に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
(9)前記自己拡張型ステントが基端部分及び先端部分を含み、前記作動可能な保持部材が前記ステントの前記基端部分の周りに配置されることを特徴とする実施態様(7)に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
(10)前記作動可能な保持部材が、加熱されると圧縮された前記自己拡張型ステントが拡張して血管の壁部に接触できるようになる材料から形成されることを特徴とする実施態様(9)に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。

Claims (9)
- 細長いコア部材、自己拡張型ステント、及び作動可能な保持リングを含む自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステムであって、
前記細長いコア部材が、基端部分及び先端部分を有し、前記先端部分に配置された基端円筒部材と、所定長のギャップを画定するために前記基端円筒部材から離間してその先端側の前記先端部分に配置された基端円筒部材を含み、
前記自己拡張型ステントが、薄い壁部を画定する円筒外面を有する小径の骨格管状部材からなり、前記薄い壁部が、互いに連結された複数のストラット部材によって形成された複数のセルと、前記基端円筒部材と前記先端円筒部材との間の前記ギャップの長さよりも短い、前記ストラット部材の1つに配置されたアンカー部材とを含み、前記自己拡張型ステントが、前記アンカー部材が前記基端円筒部材と前記先端円筒部材との間の前記ギャップ内にインターロックして前記細長いコア部材上に保持されるように、前記細長いコア部材に取り付けられ圧縮されており、
前記作動可能な保持リングが、前記ステントを前記細長いコア部材に圧縮された状態で保持するために前記自己拡張型ステントの前記円筒外面の周りに配置され、作動すると前記自己拡張型ステントを解放して前記自己拡張型ステントが血管の壁部に対して拡張できることを特徴とする自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。 - 前記自己拡張型ステントが基端部分及び先端部分を含み、前記作動可能な保持リングが前記ステントの前記基端部分の周りに配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
- 前記自己拡張型ステントが基端部分及び先端部分を含み、第1の作動可能な保持リングが前記ステントの前記先端部分の周りに配置され、第2の作動可能な保持リングが前記ステントの前記基端部分の周りに配置されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
- 前記作動可能な保持リングが、加熱されると圧縮された前記自己拡張型ステントが拡張して血管の壁部に接触できるようになる材料から形成されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
- 更に、前記作動可能な保持リングの近傍に配置された加熱要素と前記加熱要素に接続された導線とを含み、前記導線にエネルギーが加えられると前記加熱要素の温度が上昇して前記作動可能な保持リングの温度が上昇し、これにより前記作動可能な保持リングが降伏して前記ステントが血管の壁部に対して拡張できるようになることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
- 前記作動可能な保持リングがポリマー材料からなることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
- 前記作動可能な保持リングがポリマーフィラメントの形態をとることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
- 前記作動可能な保持リングが、熱溶融ポリマーからなるフィラメントから形成されることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
- 前記加熱要素が電気抵抗加熱要素であることを特徴とする請求項5に記載の自己拡張型ステント及びステントデリバリーシステム。
