この時、次のような問題点があった、
（イ）浴室内の設計上あるいは施工上の都合により、介助作業者の手の届く範囲内に手洗い蛇口栓が配備されていない場合があり、容易に手洗いできない事があった。
（ロ）洗身の介助作業を行なう時、通常は手洗い蛇口栓と介助者との間に入浴者が座る位置関係となるため、その身体が障害となって蛇口栓に手が届きにい場合があり、この時、誤ってお互いの身体が触れることにより不快感を与えたり、接触時の反動によってバランスを崩し転倒事故を誘発する危険性があった。
（ハ）大勢の入浴者の中には介助に抵抗したり、洗身中に突然椅子から立ち上がるなど身勝手な行動をとる方が少なからずおり、片手で動く相手の身体を支えつつもう一方の手を洗わねばならない事態も発生し、介助者自身身動きとれなくなる状況があった。

また、浴室の施工時に取り付けられた既設の嵌合式シャワーヘッド保持具が、介助者にとって都合の良い位置にあるならば、これに固定して使用することも可能である。
（ハ）シャワーヘッドの保持が簡単にできるため、これを浴室内の床面上に放置することもなくなり、歩行時の障害物とならずに安全であり、再度拾い上げる手間も省ける。
また、シャワーヘッドの収納や取り出しの操作も容易でかつ迅速に行なえるため、作業性の向上を図ることもできる。
（ニ）ハンドシャワーヘッド収納容器の底部に設けてある、排水出口にホースを接続すれば、ノズルから噴出された吐出水を周囲に飛散させることなく、入浴槽に誘導して補助的な給湯を行なうことができ、入浴待機時間の短縮を図ることも可能である。
