Abstract
Description
The present invention includes a main scanning driving unit that reciprocates a recording head that ejects ink onto a recording material in the main scanning direction, and a sub scanning driving unit that conveys the recording material in the sub scanning direction by a predetermined conveyance amount. The present invention relates to an automatic sheet feeder that automatically feeds recording sheets one by one as a recording material toward a sub-scanning drive unit, and a recording apparatus including the automatic sheet feeder.
For example, in a recording apparatus such as an ink jet recording apparatus, a large number of recording sheets such as plain paper and photo paper stacked in a recording paper storage means such as a paper feed tray or a paper feed cassette are accurately separated one by one. An automatic paper feeder that feeds a recording material to a recording execution area of a recording apparatus is known. In a general automatic paper feeder, a moving body called a hopper presses the recording paper stacked on the paper feed tray or paper cassette against the paper feed roller, and is in the highest position in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the paper feed roller. The recording paper is fed by the rotation of the paper feed roller. In the automatic paper feeder having such a configuration, the uppermost recording paper that is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the paper feed roller in a state where the papers stacked by the hopper are pressed against the paper feed roller is the paper feed roller. When the paper is fed by the rotation, there is a possibility that several recording papers are dragged over the fed recording papers and overlapped. Therefore, in the automatic paper feeder having such a configuration, a separating unit for preventing double feeding of recording paper is generally arranged on the downstream side in the paper feed direction of the paper feed roller. As an example of the separating means, from the back side of the recording paper in a state where the separating bodies having a friction resistance smaller than the friction resistance between the outer peripheral surface of the paper feeding roller and the recording paper and larger than the friction resistance between the overlapping recording papers are overlapped What presses against a paper feed roller is generally used. By such a separator having a frictional resistance, the other recording paper to be fed by being dragged by the recording paper to be fed which is in contact with the outer peripheral surface of the paper feeding roller is separated from the recording paper to be fed. Therefore, it is possible to prevent a plurality of recording sheets from being fed in a state where they overlap each other.
Further, in a general automatic paper feeder having the above-described configuration, another recording paper separated from the recording paper to be fed by the separating means remaining in the vicinity of the paper feed roller is fed to a paper feed tray or a paper feed. Some are provided with a paper return means for pushing back into the paper cassette. As an example of the paper return means, a rocking body or the like that swings in the direction opposite to the paper feed direction is disposed downstream of the paper feed roller in the paper feed direction so as to be able to advance and retreat. The rocking body or the like swings in the direction opposite to the paper feeding direction at a predetermined timing and advances into the paper feeding path to push the recording paper separated by the separating means back toward the paper feeding tray or paper feeding cassette. Yes. It is possible to reduce the possibility of a paper jam or the like caused by the recording paper separated by the separation means partially protruding from the paper feed tray or paper feed cassette and remaining in the vicinity of the paper feed roller. In some cases, the above-described separator is integrated with the swinging body of the paper return means (see, for example, Patent Document 1).
Incidentally, in recent recording apparatuses such as an ink jet recording apparatus, in addition to the needs for improving the recording image quality and increasing the recording execution speed, it is also required to reduce the size of the recording apparatus. Accordingly, the automatic paper feeder is also downsized, and each component of the automatic paper feeder, such as a paper feed roller, a hopper, a separating unit, and a paper return unit, is narrow to the limit as long as the function of each component is realized. It will be arranged in a space. For this reason, for example, there is a possibility that an adverse effect such as a part of the swinging range of the swinging body of the paper returning means interferes with the moving region of the recording paper pressed against the paper feeding roller by the movement of the hopper. As a result, the recording paper to be returned to the paper feed tray or the paper cassette by the rocking body of the paper return means remains caught on the rocking body, and the paper is fed without returning to the paper feed tray or paper cassette. There is a possibility that it may remain in the vicinity of the roller and cause a paper jam or the like.
The present invention has been made in view of such a situation, and the problem is that the recording paper is caught by the paper return means in the automatic paper feeder in which the respective components are arranged in a narrow space. This is to ensure that the paper can be returned even if it is lost.
In order to achieve the above object, according to a first aspect of the present invention, there is provided a main scanning driving means for reciprocating a recording head for ejecting ink onto a recording material in the main scanning direction, and a predetermined amount of the recording material in the sub scanning direction. And a sub-scanning driving unit that transports the recording paper by a transport amount, wherein the recording paper is automatically fed one by one as the recording material toward the sub-scanning driving unit. A paper feed roller that rotates in the paper feed direction, a rotational driving force source for the paper feed roller, and a structure that can move so as to push a large number of stacked recording papers toward the paper feed roller. A hopper that presses the uppermost recording paper surface of the stacked recording papers against the outer peripheral surface of the paper feed roller, and a recording paper whose surface is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the paper feed roller by the hopper When paper is fed in the paper feeding direction by the drive rotation of the paper roller, Separating means for preventing the paper from being overlapped in the overlapped state, and a paper feed path from the recording paper storage unit on which the recording paper is separated from the recording paper to be fed and stacked by the separating means A paper return rocking body disposed so as to be able to advance into the paper feed path so as to push the leading end of the recording paper in a state of partially protruding toward the recording paper storage unit, When the rocking position where the leading edge of the recording paper partially protruding from the recording paper container is swung in the direction of pushing toward the recording paper container and advanced into the paper feed path is the paper return position, The paper feed standby state is a state in which the paper return swinging body swings to the paper return position, and when the paper feed roller starts to rotate and a paper feeding operation is started, the paper return swinging body starts to rotate. Swings in a direction to retract from the paper path, and feeds by the separating means during the paper feeding operation After the other recording paper is separated from the recording paper to be printed, the leading end of the recording paper is separated from the recording paper to be fed and partially protrudes from the recording paper container. After swinging to the paper return position so as to be pushed toward the recording paper storage unit, it swings to the swing position for retreating from the paper feed path and then swings to the paper return position again. The automatic paper feeding device is characterized by being in a paper standby state.
The automatic paper feeder according to the first aspect of the present invention is characterized in that the paper return swinging body swings to the paper return position and feeds the recording paper separated from the recording paper to be fed by the separating means. After the operation of pushing back to the recording paper storage unit such as a tray or a paper feed cassette, the return swinging member swings once to the swinging position for retreating from the recording paper feeding path, and then swings back to the paper returning position. Then, the paper feed standby state is entered. That is, the paper return operation for swinging the paper return swinging body to the paper return position is performed twice during one paper feeding operation. As a result, it is possible to almost certainly push back the recording paper that does not return to the recording paper storage unit when the tip is caught by the paper return rocking body that has advanced into the paper feeding path to the recording paper storage unit. Particularly, each component is arranged in a narrow space, and in a state where the swing position of the paper return swinging body is at the paper return position, a part of the paper return swinging body is pushed by the hopper. In an automatic paper feeder that has entered the movement path, the leading edge of the recording paper separated by the separating means may be caught by the swinging body at the paper return position after the first paper return operation. is there. Therefore, once the paper return rocking body is swung from the state to the rocking position for retreating from the recording paper feeding path, a part of the paper return rocking body has advanced into the recording paper pushing path by the hopper. Further, since the paper return swinging body moves out of the recording paper pushing path by the hopper, the leading end of the recording paper caught on the paper return swinging body and the paper return swinging body can be separated. Then, by performing the second paper return operation from that state, it is possible to reliably push back the recording paper with the leading end protruding in the vicinity of the paper feed roller from the recording paper storage portion to the recording paper storage portion.
As a result, according to the automatic paper feeder shown in the first aspect of the present invention, the recording paper with the leading end protruding in the vicinity of the paper feed roller from the recording paper storage portion after being separated by the separating
According to a second aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect described above, the sheet feeding roller is arranged integrally with a rotation shaft of the sheet feeding roller that defines the rocking position of the sheet return rocking body in accordance with the rotation position of the sheet feeding roller. The paper return rocking body cam is in a state where the paper return rocking body is swung to the paper return position in the paper feed standby state, and the paper feed roller is rotated. When the paper feeding operation is started for the first time, the paper return rocking body swings in the direction of retreating from the paper feeding path, and another recording is performed from the recording paper to be fed by the separating unit during the paper feeding operation. After the paper is separated, the front end of the recording paper in a state in which the paper return rocking body is separated from the recording paper to be fed and partially protrudes from the recording paper containing portion is directed toward the recording paper containing portion. After swinging to the paper return position so as to push, temporarily retract from the paper feed path That swings to swing position swung to the position again returned the paper from it has a cam profile as the sheet feeding standby state, it is an automatic sheet feeding apparatus wherein.
In this way, the paper return rocking body cam that defines the rocking position of the paper return rocking body according to the rotation position of the paper feed roller is integrally disposed on the rotation shaft of the paper feed roller, and as described above, By setting the cam profile of the moving body cam, it is possible to obtain the operational effects of the invention described in the first aspect.
According to a third aspect of the present invention, in the first aspect or the second aspect described above, the separation unit swings to a swing position where the paper return swing body is retracted from the paper feed path. The automatic paper feeding device is provided integrally with a portion of the paper return rocking body facing the paper feeding path.
As described above, since the separating means is integrally disposed on the paper return rocking body, the automatic paper feeder can be further downsized and the cost of the automatic paper feeder can be reduced. The effect is obtained.
According to a fourth aspect of the present invention, in any one of the first to third aspects described above, the hopper is configured such that the uppermost recording paper surface of the stacked recording papers is positioned on the outer peripheral surface of the paper feed roller. A hopper cam which is arranged in a state of being urged by a hopper urging means in a direction to be pressed, rotates when the rotational force of the rotational driving force source is transmitted, and regulates the moving position of the hopper, In a state where the rotation position of the paper feed roller is in the first rotation position range, the hopper urging means moves the recording paper stacked on the hopper to a position where the recording paper is separated from the outer peripheral surface of the paper feed roller. When the hopper is pushed in a direction substantially opposite to the urging force and the rotation position of the paper feed roller is in the second rotation position range, the hopper is stacked on the hopper by the urging force of the hopper urging means. The top of the printed recording paper The hopper has a cam profile in which the hopper moves to a position where the recording paper is pressed against the outer peripheral surface of the paper feed roller, and the rotation position of the paper feed roller is in the second rotational position range. Hopper cam urging means for urging the hopper cam with an urging force weaker than the urging force of the hopper urging means in a rotation direction opposite to the rotation direction of the hopper cam to be driven to rotate by the urging force of the urging means; It is an automatic paper feeder characterized by this.
Thus, in a state where the rotation position of the paper feed roller is in the second rotation position range, the hopper urging means moves in a direction opposite to the rotation direction of the hopper cam that is driven to rotate by the urging force of the hopper urging means. By providing hopper cam urging means for urging the hopper cam with an urging force weaker than the urging force, the hopper cam is driven to rotate by the strong urging force of the urging means urging the hopper toward the paper feed roller. Since the force can be weakened, it is possible to prevent the hopper cam from being vigorously rotated in the driven rotation direction and generating a large hopper collision sound. Therefore, it is possible to reduce the collision noise of the hopper to an acceptable level in a space-saving and low cost without providing a large hopper cam.
Thus, according to the automatic paper feeder shown in the fourth aspect of the present invention, a large hopper cam is provided in addition to the function and effect of the invention according to any one of the first to third aspects described above. It is possible to reduce the hopper collision noise to an acceptable level with less space and cost, so that it is possible to realize an automatic paper feeder that greatly reduces the hopper collision noise at low cost. The effect is obtained.

FIG. 6 is a side view showing the main part of the mechanism for swinging the
When the
As described above, the spring force of the
Next, the rotary clutch mechanism will be described.
FIG. 8 is a front view of the main part of the rotary clutch mechanism, showing the clutch ON state.
The rotary clutch mechanism described above is connected to the
FIG. 9 is a front view of the main part of the rotary clutch mechanism, showing a state immediately before switching from the clutch ON state to the clutch OFF state. FIG. 10 is a front view of the main part of the rotary clutch mechanism, showing the clutch OFF state. FIG. 11 is a front view of an essential part of the rotary clutch mechanism, and shows a state immediately after switching from the clutch OFF state to the clutch ON state.
The switching

FIG. 13 is a side view of a main part showing a paper return lever as a “paper return swing body” and a paper return lever cam as a “paper return swing body cam” that regulates the swing position of the paper return lever. The state immediately after the start of operation is shown.
The
The

Next, the above-described “sub-scanning drive unit” will be further described.

FIG. 23 is a perspective view of the transport driven
The transport driven
