Description

The present invention relates to an on-line reservation system for hotel rooms using a computer, and more particularly to a reservation system that can centrally manage online reservations from block sales destinations and general customers, and further eliminates the disadvantages of conventional block sales.
[0001]
[Prior art]
Various reservations are made by connecting a user's computer to a business reservation server published on the network, and hotel reservations are generally considered to be no exception. ing.
[0002]
However, the hotel industry has a special sales system for guest rooms, and it is difficult to make a direct reservation on the network, and most of them rely on telephones and fax machines. The method is a consignment sales method for guest rooms called “block sales”. “Block sales” refers to sales rights within a given range in a hotel room (exactly “sales reservation rights”, but for convenience of explanation, this is referred to in this specification. Is used in a consignment sales destination such as a travel agent for a certain period of time, and the hotel itself cannot be sold for the guest room during this period. Since block sales are weak in advertising, advertising and sales capabilities only at hotels, the starting point is to consign the sales to an external agency to make up for it. In this case, the hotel itself makes a reservation for sales as it is Since it is not possible to immediately answer the confirmation of room availability or reservation acceptance as in the case of acceptance, it is possible to grant exclusive sales rights for a certain range of rooms in order to eliminate this. The reason why you can access the hotel reservation system on the travel agent's Internet and check the vacancy in real time is not because the system is directly connected to the hotel reservation system. It is none other than because the rooms offered by the block are sold through our reservation system.
[0003]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
FIG. 9 illustrates this. In the hotel S, the total number of guest rooms is 200, but 120 of them are sold as block sales to consignment sales partners. There are only 80 rooms. Therefore, if the remaining 80 rooms are sold out, an unreasonable situation will occur in which a hotel cannot be sold even though there are vacant blocks and the rooms are not full. Normally, sales to consigned customers are discounted, and you have to pay a fee. This is because the profit margin is lower than sales to general customers who make reservations directly to hotels. The situation is serious. In this case, if the hotel sells the block, there is a risk of double booking (overbooking) if the block is sold out by the consignment seller.
[0004]
In addition, the consignment seller returns unsold rooms (the amount that has not been booked) to the hotel after a certain sales period (travel business terminology) (this is called a manual return room). The hotels often lost their sales opportunities because they started to sell after returning to the room (shortly before the date of stay).
[0005]
On the other hand, block sales sell hotel rooms to consignment distributors, so if the number of consignment distributors increases, the number of rooms that can be provided to each distributor decreases, and the number of consignment distributors is limited by itself. Will occur. For example, in FIG. 9, A travel agency provides 50 rooms, B travel agency provides 20 rooms, C travel agency provides 10 rooms, and D travel agency provides 40 rooms. Therefore, it is impossible to sell to a large number of consigned sales partners, and the hotel has a problem of not being able to disperse the unsold risks due to the limited number of consigned sales destinations. Also, for the travel agency side, it is only a large travel agency with a large ability to attract customers that can be a consignment sales destination from the above situation, and there is a problem that a small-scale agency is excluded from the consignment sales destination. In this case as well, there is a risk of double booking (overbooking) if the hotel sells blocks in excess of the number of rooms.
[0006]
The outline of block sales is as described above, but in the reality of trading, block sales have another special feature. That is, the types of guest rooms that can be sold, the selling prices, and the sales conditions differ depending on the consignment sales destination. These are determined by the hotel and the consignment distributor, depending on the sales performance and scale of the consignment distributor. Generally, a large number of guest rooms are offered at low prices for consignment distributors with high customer attraction, and the commission distributor has a high commission. Will limit the number of rooms provided. I don't want to let other consignment sales outlets and general customers know about these prices and conditions, but I will publish the online reservation system for hotel rooms on the network and centrally manage online reservations from consignment sales outlets and general customers. In such a case, there will be an inconvenience that these will be made public.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
An object of the present invention is to provide a hotel room reservation system that solves the above-described problems of the prior art, and a sales destination connects the computer to a reception system that is made up of computers disclosed on a network. In the hotel room reservation system that reserves rooms, prepare multiple types of sales plans that describe the target rooms and sales conditions, and the types of sales destinations or specific sales destinations that can purchase them for each plan. Prepare a sales plan file that defines a name and creates a database of these, identify each sales destination that has accessed the reservation system, and search for sales plans that can be sold to them from the sales plan file. In addition, if the guest room is reserved for sale, search for all sales plans and search for the customer The delete and updates its contents.
[0008]
Therefore, according to the present invention, it is possible to centrally manage online reservations from a plurality of sales destinations with different sales conditions in a state where the sales conditions are concealed to those other than the person, and the number of guest rooms exceeding the actual number of guest rooms of the hotel As a sales plan, an effect that can be presented to a large number of customers is generated.
[0009]
DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, specific embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing an example of a reservation system according to the present invention. Reference numeral 1 in the figure denotes a server provided in a hotel for executing the reservation system of the present invention. In actual hotels, hotel business management computers are already installed, some of which can be used as they are for the server of the reservation system of the present invention, and others cannot be used because the data structure is different. is there. In addition, it can be assumed that reservation systems connected to a large number of hotel reservation management computers are accommodated in divided areas on a joint reservation management server managed by a third party rather than a server alone. . However, since the understanding of the gist of the present invention may be confused if they are referred to here, the embodiment will be separated from the hotel's existing business management computer for the time being and will be described as a server only for the hotel. Will be described in the Examples section.
[0010]
The server 1 includes a central processing unit, a data storage device, a data recording device, a communication control unit, a display unit, an input unit, and the like, among which are a sales plan file 2, a sales plan master file 3, and a guest room master file 4. Contains a reservation file consisting of This server 1 is disclosed on a network (in this case, the Internet is assumed) N, and a consignment sales destination computer 10, a general sales destination computer 11 such as a normal customer, and a computer 12 of another hotel are connected with authentication. The As for the consignment sales destination computer 10, in addition to the terminal operated by the operator on behalf of the reservation applicant, a hotel room reservation system operated by the consignment sales destination can generally be assumed. In order not to confuse understanding, only the terminal is illustrated. Other hotels are included in the sales destination in order to introduce other hotels when the customer (royal user) of the hotel that provides the guest rooms cannot stay at the hotel due to fullness or other reasons It is. In this case, when the hotel has the reservation system of the present invention, the reservation system of another hotel is accessed through the reservation system. That is, the computer denoted by reference numeral 12 in the figure is a reservation system for another hotel.
[0011]
Next, the reservation system of this embodiment has the following means.
(1) A means for the sales destination to identify each hotel on the network by a hotel code assigned in advance.
[0012]
In this embodiment, since it is assumed that the server is a single hotel only, the customer who accesses it identifies the hotel in advance. In the case of a reservation system in which a large number of hotel reservation management computers are connected to the reservation management server, a hotel code is indispensable for a sales destination that accesses the reservation management server to reach the target hotel system. Also in this embodiment, the hotel code is essential when another hotel accesses as a sales destination. Further, as will be described later, a hotel code is essential when the present invention is implemented in a Web service environment.
(2) Means for identifying each sales destination that has accessed the room reservation system by a sales destination code assigned in advance.
[0013]
When the sales destination is a person who is engaged in a reservation service such as a consignment sales destination such as a travel agency, it is essential to obtain a sales destination code in advance. These are usually given at the time of a computer provision contract based on a passenger placement contract between a hotel and a travel agency. In the case of a general sales destination such as a guest, a sales destination code is given on the spot. The reason for assigning the sales destination code to these persons is that it is necessary to identify the same person in order to record the staying records when presenting an advantageous sales plan to repeat customers according to the hotel policy. is there.
(3) Prepare multiple types of sales plans that describe the target guest rooms and sales conditions, determine the types or specific names of customers that can purchase them for each plan, and create a database of these. Sales plan file.
[0014]
Typical sales conditions include fees and payment methods. Each sales plan is given a plan code for identification, and a guest room code for identification is given to each guest room described in each plan. The relationship between the sales plan and the sales destination to which the sales plan is applied is not one-to-one, and one sales plan may be applied to a plurality of sales destinations. In the case of consignment vendors who have an individual contract with a hotel in advance, a specific name (sales code) is recorded as the sales plan application destination, but certain conditions (for example, corporate discounts or student discounts) Etc.), the type is recorded in the case of a sales destination whose sales plan is determined.
(4) Means for searching for a sales plan file with a sales destination code as a search item for a sales destination accessing the room reservation system and presenting a sales plan that the hotel can sell to the sales destination.
[0015]
In the sales plan file of the reservation server 1, each sales plan and each sales destination to which the sales plan is applied are stored in a database together with codes, and the searched sales plan is transmitted to the sales destination computer as an image and character data. Is done. FIG. 3 is a diagram showing an example of this case. Here, the sales plans displayed on the browser screens of the terminals of A travel agency and B travel agency, which are consignment sales destinations, are shown as reference signs D2 and D3 in the figure. Here, different sales plans are applied to the two, and it can be understood from the same figure that the price of the guest room and the guest room that can be sold are different. According to the figure, the same room is presented to different sales partners in duplicate, but as described later, this is a feature of the present invention, which is impossible with the conventional block sales system.
(5) Means for accepting execution / change / cancellation of a room reservation from a sales destination based on a sales plan.
(6) A reservation file that stores the contents of reservation execution / change / cancellation as reservation data.
(7) Means for searching for a reserved room stored in the reservation file, deleting the guest room on the corresponding stay date from each sales plan, and updating the contents.
[0016]
In the reservation file, there are provided a sales plan master file 3 that stores the sales plan identified by the reservation data and the plan code, and a room master file 4 that records the current sales reservation status of each room identified by the room code. When a reservation is executed, changed, or canceled, the reserved room data in the sales plan master file is reflected in the reserved room data in the room master file using the code of the reserved room as a key. Update the master file. Furthermore, every time the guest room master file is updated, the guest room that has been reserved for sale from each sales plan in the sales plan file is searched using the guest room code as a key, and the guest room on the day of stay is deleted and its contents updated. To do. The above example will be described with reference to FIGS. Reference symbols D2 and D3 in the figure are sales plans displayed on the browser screens of the terminals of the travel agencies A and B, which are consignment sales destinations, and reference symbol D1 in the figure indicates the current state of the room master file 4 displayed on the screen of the server 1. is there. Here, the room 505 (room code XX-505) of the hotel is shown before (FIG. 3) and after (FIG. 4) the sales reservation by A Travel Agency. That is, in FIG. 4, as the current status of room 505 in the guest room master file is already reserved for sale (displayed with a cross), in the sales plan for travel agency A, a reservation code for confirming the reservation is displayed at room 505. On the other hand, in the sales plan for the B travel agency, a sold-out display is given to the location of room 505.
[0017]
In this example, when a room that has been reserved for sale due to a change / cancellation of a room reservation becomes a vacant room, the update result of the room master file is automatically reflected in each sales plan. I do not do it. The increase in the number of rooms reserved for sales must be immediately reflected in each sales plan in order to prevent overbooking, but this is not necessary in the case of an increase in vacant rooms. Because there is a strategy, it is necessary to be able to select according to the sales policy.
[0018]
FIG. 2 is a flowchart showing the flow of procedures in the sales destination computer (terminal) and hotel computer (server) in the above embodiment. In this flowchart, only the minimum procedure necessary for explaining the present invention is described, and description of other procedures is omitted.

The reservation server that receives the acceptance confirmation from the terminal of the sales destination stores the reservation data in the reservation file and updates the sales plan master file 3.
[0025]
Procedure 12 (S12)
Next, the guest room code included in the reservation data of the sales plan master file 3 is used as a key, and the current state of the corresponding guest room in the guest room master file 4 is updated as a sales reservation.
[0026]
Procedure 13 (S13), Procedure 14 (S14)
Along with the update of the room master file 4, search for a room that has been reserved for sales from each sales plan in the sales plan file using the code of the room that has been reserved for sales as a key, and delete that room on the corresponding accommodation date. Update its contents.

【Example】
Here, the outline in the case of incorporating the hotel room reservation system of the present invention having the above-described configuration into the computer environment of an existing hotel and a consignment sales destination will be described. FIG. 5 is a block diagram when the reservation system of the present invention coexists with an existing hotel reservation computer (called an IHS console) 50. This is necessary if a conventional hotel system is used because many hotel reservation systems do not have the data structure and processing functions of the present invention. The reservation management host 51 is a server machine corresponding to the reservation server. Reference numeral 52 in the figure denotes a consignment sales destination computer, which is a room reservation system (reservation site) operated by the consignment sales destination. Reference numeral 53 in the figure denotes a guest terminal that connects to the reservation site and makes a reservation for sales of a guest room to a consignment seller.
[0028]
FIG. 6 is a block diagram in the case where the hotel reservation management host 61 of the present invention is incorporated in a hotel business management host 60 such as a hotel total system and a hotel-wide reservation management host 61 managed by a third party organization is used. In this case, a single reservation system (IHS console) is not required. The business management host 60 sends reservation management data to be sold and provided to the use area of the hotel of the reservation management host 61. When a reservation is received, the reservation management host sends reservation data to the business management host. Reference numeral 62 in the figure denotes a purchase host for a hotel room (accommodation plan) of a travel agency that is a consignment sales destination. The purchase host manages the purchased data, and the terminal 63 of the branch office via a network such as a dedicated line. It can be accessed from. A reservation can be made from the terminal 64 of the guest via the travel agency's WWW.
[0029]
FIG. 7 is a block diagram of the room reservation system of the present invention implemented in a Web service environment. The present invention is most effective for Web services. In this case, the reservation management host for each hotel managed by the third party is not necessary, and the hotel computer (hotel system) directly provides the service instead. The hotel system 70 is a hotel reservation management system, which is a specification of the present invention and is a Web service provider. Reference numeral 71 in the figure denotes a host such as a purchase center of a travel agency that is a consignment sales destination. Reference numeral 73 in the figure is a host of a reservation site which is also a consignment sales destination, and provides a hotel reservation service via the Internet. These 71 and 73 are both Web service requesters. Reference numeral 72 in the figure is a Web service broker which provides WSDL (Web service definition language) based on the present invention.

【The invention's effect】
The present invention configured as described above has the following specific effects.
(1) Since online reservations from multiple customers with different sales conditions can be centrally managed with the sales conditions hidden from others, anyone can easily and accurately make reservations using an Internet terminal or mobile phone. It becomes possible to devise and commercialize business and software (car navigation reservation etc.) with hotel reservation service added.
(2) When a room is reserved for sale, all the sales plans are searched, the room on the corresponding stay date is deleted and the content is updated, so there is no risk of overbooking and the actual room of the hotel The number of guest rooms exceeding the number can be outsourced to many consignment sales outlets. FIG. 8 is a diagram illustrating this effect. Here, a hotel with a total of 200 guest rooms entrusts sales of 400 rooms to the consignment sales destination.
(3) For the same reason, it is possible to have a large number of consignment distributors, and even in such cases, there is no danger of overbooking, and administrative management is also easy, so consignment that has been oligopolized by major travel agencies until now. As sales doors expand, it becomes easier for small travel agencies and local travel agencies to enter, and the sales channel is expanded.
