Abstract
Description
【0001】

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an image recording apparatus, and in particular, based on halftone image data (halftone image data) processed by a host device such as a RIP (raster image processor) or a halftone conversion processor. The present invention relates to a method for creating a color proof for confirming in advance a printed product by exposing a color photosensitive material with different light sources.
[0002]
[Prior art]
In general, when producing a color printed matter, it may be required to perform color calibration at the stage of an original film. In such a case, C (cyan) plate, M (magenta) plate, Y (yellow) ) And proof plate (color proof) using each color separation network original film color-separated into K (black) version, and before making the actual printing plate, the layout and color of the original film, Furthermore, the finished quality of the final printed matter including the presence / absence of errors relating to characters and the like is confirmed.
[0003]
In recent years, with the widespread use of DTP (Desk Top Publishing) and the like, the work of image editing and page imposition on computer software has become common, and full digital editing has become rare.
[0004]
In such a process, aiming at further efficiency, image setter output for directly outputting the image data after page editing to the film, CTP (Computer To Plate) output for directly outputting to the printing plate, and further, a printing press CTC (Computer To Cylinder) for directly outputting an image to a printing plate wound on a cylinder is performed.
[0005]
In this case, it is necessary to perform film output and printing plate output only for calibration confirmation, and there is a problem in that the work and time equivalent to or more than the final printed matter creation and the waste of the film and printing plate occur. .
[0006]
Therefore, in particular, in the process of creating and editing a full digital image by such a computer, the creation of a color proof is digital image data called DDCP (Direct Digital Color Proof) or DCP (Digital Color Proof). There is a need for a system that directly outputs a color image to obtain a color image.
[0007]
Such DDCP records digital image data processed on a computer on a plate-making film with an image setter or the like, performs a final printing operation for directly producing a printing plate with CTP, or a printing machine with CTC. Create a color proof that directly outputs the digital image processed on the computer and reproduces the print finish quality before recording the image directly on the printing plate wound on the cylinder of the printer. , Text, characters, etc. can be confirmed.
[0008]
Also, in the calibration process in such plate making and printing processes,
(1) Internal school for checking mistakes inside the work site,
(2) Outside school to be submitted for confirmation to the orderer and designer,
(3) Printing sample provided as a sample of the final printed matter to the captain of the printing press,
Proofs are created and used for three main applications.
[0009]
In the proofreading process, for in-school and some out-of-school applications, DDCP using proofreading materials that cannot reproduce halftone images, ie sublimation transfer method, inkjet, electronic, etc. There are cases where output products such as photographs are used mainly as proofs for appearance confirmation, but the reproducibility of highlights, fine details, and the presence or absence of improper interference fringes in halftone images called moire during printing For the proof use used for quality confirmation such as the above or as a printing sample, it is the actual situation that a proof output that faithfully reproduces the printing halftone dot is desired.
[0010]
As a DDCP that satisfies such needs, there is a type that performs image exposure on a photosensitive material using a high-power heat mode laser and transfers it to a printing paper. However, such a system capable of reproducing a high-quality halftone dot has a drawback that the cost of the apparatus and the photosensitive material is increased.
[0011]
On the other hand, in recent years, DDCP using a silver salt color light-sensitive material capable of further confirming a halftone image at low cost has begun to spread. A system using a silver salt color photosensitive material is composed of, for example, C, M, and Y coloring layers at a light spot synthesized by combining a plurality of lights having different wavelengths of R, G, and B, for example. The photosensitive material is exposed to develop C, M, and Y dots to form a halftone color image. This type of image recording apparatus is described in
[0012]
[Patent Document 1]
JP 2002-247515 A (first page, FIG. 1)
[0013]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
By the way, in such an image recording apparatus, in order to develop a color of C, M, or Y on the photosensitive material, exposure is performed using light from any one light source for C, M, or Y. .
[0014]
Further, in order to develop a color of any of R, G, and B on the photosensitive material, exposure is performed by combining light of any two light sources such as Y and M, M and C, and Y and C. It is carried out.
[0015]
In this case, the spread of dots may occur on the photosensitive material, and if the spread of the dots is different between the two colors to be superimposed, a color shift occurs in the peripheral portion of the dots.
[0016]
Therefore, by performing adjustment called dot gain adjustment on the host device side in each case of combinations such as Y and M, M and C, and Y and C, the above color misalignment around the dots can be eliminated. Is possible.
[0017]
Similarly, in order to develop the K color on the photosensitive material, the light from the three light sources for C, M, and Y is combined and superimposed, and in this case, color misregistration can occur around the dots. There is sex.
[0018]
However, when K color is generated, since the host device has only one color image data for K, it is impossible to perform dot gain adjustment as described above.
[0019]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and an object thereof is to realize an image recording apparatus capable of eliminating black color misregistration that cannot be adjusted by dot gain adjustment on the host side. There is to do.
[0020]
[Means for solving the problems]
The above-described problem is solved by each of the solving means described below.
[0021]
(1) The present invention receives image data in a color-separated state for each color of yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), and black (K), and based on the image data Image recording apparatus for generating light source driving data, driving a plurality of light sources according to the light source driving data, exposing a photosensitive material composed of a plurality of coloring layers with light having different wavelengths, and recording a color image on the photosensitive material An exposure unit having a plurality of light sources for exposing the photosensitive material, and control means for controlling the exposure of the light source by driving the light source by the light source driving data based on the image data. And data conversion means for converting the reproduced color density data into light source drive data after converting the image data into reproduced color density data representing the density of the reproduced color, the data converting means, A color correction table for converting the recorded image data into reproduced color density data representing the density of the reproduced color, a density / light source driving data conversion table for converting the reproduced color density data into light source driving data, and the color of the light source driving data. A light source driving data table for switching the driving of the light source in units of pixels by the combination, and the density / light source driving data conversion table uses the reproduction color density data of any one of Y, M, and C other than K as the light source A YMC density / light source drive data conversion table for converting to drive data; and a K density / light source drive data conversion table for converting K reproduction color density data to light source drive data. When the data conversion table generates K by superimposing Y, M, and C dots on the photosensitive material, the Y, M, C Is a table which has been considered so sized that overlapping dots are aligned, it is an image recording apparatus characterized.
[0022]
In the present invention, image data that is color-separated into plates for each color of yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C), and black (K) is received, and light source drive data is based on the image data. The image data is reproduced when a light-sensitive material composed of a plurality of color layers is exposed to light having different wavelengths by driving a plurality of light sources with the light source drive data and recording a color image on the light-sensitive material. In order to convert the reproduced color density data into light source drive data after conversion into the reproduced color density data represented by the color density, the reproduced color density data of any one of Y, M, and C other than K is converted into the light source drive data. A YMC density / light source drive data conversion table and a K density / light source drive data conversion table for converting K reproduced color density data into light source drive data. In the table, Y on the photosensitive material, M, in generating the K by superposition of C dots, the Y, M, so that the dot overlapping size of C are aligned.
[0023]
That is, when generating the light source drive data from the image data, separately from the YMC density / light source drive data conversion table for converting any reproduction color density data of Y, M, or C other than K into the light source drive data, In the K density / light source drive data conversion table, when K is generated by superimposing Y, M, and C dots on the photosensitive material, the overlapping sizes of the Y, M, and C dots are aligned. [0066]
<Characteristic configuration of the embodiment of the present invention>
Hereinafter, the configuration of an apparatus having “dot color misregistration prevention processing” which is a characteristic part of the present embodiment will be described with reference to FIG.
[0067]
FIG. 1 is a functional block diagram showing the configuration around the CPU 101 constituting the control means for executing the dot color misregistration preventing process according to this embodiment. FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing the configuration of the main part in detail. Here, the same components as those in FIG. 12 are denoted by the same reference numerals.
[0068]
In FIG. 1, reference numeral 101 denotes a CPU as control means for controlling the overall operation. The CPU 101 constitutes control means for forming a color image by multiple recording on a recording medium by repeating exposure for each number of colors of color separation data or for each wavelength of a light source.

The density / light source drive data conversion table includes a YMC density / light source drive data conversion table 205b for converting any of Y, M, and C reproduced color density data other than K into light source drive data, and K reproduction. And a K density / light source drive data conversion table 205c for converting color density data into light source drive data. The K density / light source drive data conversion table 205c is Y, M, C on the photosensitive material. When K is generated by superimposing dots of Y, M, and C, the table is designed so that the sizes of the Y, M, and C dots overlap are aligned.
[0080]
In the above case, the YMC density / light source drive data conversion table 205b generates Y, M, or C dots on the photosensitive material, or overlays of any dots. , M, and C are preferably tables that are designed to accurately reproduce the respective densities.
[0081]
In the above case, the K density / light source drive data conversion table 205c converts the YMC density / light source drive data conversion table when generating K by superimposing Y, M, and C dots on the photosensitive material. It is preferable that the table has a density reproducibility lower than the density reproducibility in the table 205b and is designed so that the overlapping sizes of the Y, M, and C dots are aligned.
[0082]
As shown in FIG. 7A, the

On the other hand, in this embodiment, as shown in FIG. 7B, between the color correction table 205a and the light source drive data table 205d, density / light source drive for converting reproduced color density data into light source drive data. The data conversion tables 205b and 205c are interposed.
[0084]
Then, when generating any dot of Y, M, or C on the photosensitive material or superposition of any dot, the YMC density / light source drive data conversion table 205b is used to generate the Y, M, C dot. Accurately reproduce each concentration of C.
[0085]
On the other hand, when K is generated by superimposing Y, M, and C dots on the photosensitive material, the density / light source driving data conversion table 205b for YMC is used to convert the density / light source driving data conversion table 205b for K. The conversion is performed in such a way that the density reproducibility is lower than the density reproducibility, and the Y, M, and C dots overlap with each other.

[0088]
When the main process starts, the CPU 101 performs apparatus initialization processing for the
[0089]
Thereafter, the CPU 101 determines whether an image data transfer request has been received from the RIP 500 (step S203). If this transfer request has been received (Y in step S203), an image data reception process is performed. (Step S204).
[0090]
In this image data reception process, halftone dot image data of each color (C, M, Y, K) created by the
[0091]
Thereafter, when the transfer request is not received (N in step S203), the CPU 101 determines whether there is received image data in the data buffer 204 (step S205).
[0092]
If there is no image data already received in the data buffer 204 (N in step S205), the process proceeds to step S203, where a transfer request for image data is received and the image data is stored in the
[0093]
If there is already received image data in the data buffer 204 (Y in step S205), the CPU 101 performs a paper feed process for paper feed conveyance (step S206).
[0094]
Here, the paper feeding process (step S206) constitutes a paper feeding / conveying means, and this operation will be described with reference to the flowchart shown in FIG.
[0095]
The photosensitive paper portion pulled out from the cartridge loaded in the paper loading unit is sandwiched and pressure-bonded by the conveyance system roller (step S301). Then, the paper feed motor is driven to pull out the photosensitive paper inside the cartridge, and the encoder performs a length measurement drawing process for measuring the length of the drawn photosensitive paper (step S302).
[0096]
Thereafter, the CPU 101 performs a paper cutting process of cutting the drawn photosensitive paper of a predetermined length with a cutter (step S303), and then setting the cut photosensitive paper on the drum 31 via a guide. An exposure chamber paper set is performed (step S304). Here, it returns to the main routine of FIG.
[0097]
Thereafter, returning to FIG. 2, the CPU 101 executes printing with dot color misregistration prevention processing, which is a feature of the embodiment of the present invention, as the printing processing (step S207).
[0098]
First, the image data from the host device stored in the image
[0099]
Next, it is determined what color the reproduced color density data is (step S2072). Here, K is distinguished from other (C, M, Y, R, G, B, Gy) created by a combination of C, M, and Y.
[0100]
Here, if the reproduced color density data is other than K, Y, M, or C dots or any dot is superimposed on the photosensitive material by the YMC density / light source drive data conversion table 205b. At the time of generation, data conversion to light source drive data is performed so that the respective densities of Y, M, and C are accurately reproduced (step S2073).
[0101]
Here, if the reproduction color density data is K, the K density / light source drive data conversion table 205c generates K by superimposing Y, M, and C dots on the photosensitive material. Data conversion to light source drive data is performed so that the Y, M, and C dots overlap with each other while the density reproducibility is lower than the density reproducibility in the YMC density / light source drive data conversion table 205b. (Step S2074).
[0102]
Then, data for switching the driving of the light source in units of pixels is generated in the light source driving data table 205d by the color combination of the light source driving data generated in this way, and the light source is driven to expose the photosensitive material. This is performed (step S2075).
[0103]
Then, the above data conversion and exposure are sequentially executed for each color stored in the image data storage unit 204 (step S2076 → S2071), and a plurality of color layers are formed by driving a plurality of light sources. A color image is recorded on the photosensitive material by exposure with light having different wavelengths.
[0104]
A flowchart showing the operation of this print processing is shown in FIG.
[0105]
The CPU 101 activates the drum rotation motor M6, which is the main scanning motor of the exposure chamber (step S402), and activates the sub-scanning motor M7 (step S403). Then, it is determined whether the photosensitive paper set on the drum 31 and the optical unit 32 are at the print start position (step S404). If it is not at the print start position (N in step S404), it is arranged at the print start position.
[0106]
Thereafter, when the photosensitive paper set on the drum 31 and the optical unit 32 are at the print start position (Y in step S404), the CPU 101 starts laser beam irradiation from the
[0107]
Then, this image output is continued, and it is determined whether or not the printing is finished (step S406).
[0108]
When printing is completed (Y in step S406), the CPU 101 stops the drum rotation motor M6, which is the main scanning motor in the exposure chamber (step S407), and stops the sub-scanning motor M7 (step S408). A sub-scanning home position return process for returning the unit 32 to the home position is performed (step S409), and the process returns to the main routine of FIG.
[0109]
Thereafter, returning to FIG. 2, the CPU 101 performs a paper discharge process from the drum 31 to the accumulator guide 29 (step S208) and a carry-out process from the accumulator guide 29 to the development processing unit 4 (step S209). It is developed after being carried out to the
[0110]
The operations of the paper discharge process and the carry-out process of the CPU 101 are shown in the flowcharts of FIGS. FIG. 5 is a flowchart showing the operation of the paper discharge process. First, the photosensitive paper adsorbed on the drum 31 is exposed in the adsorbed state. In this state, the peeling
[0111]
Thereafter, the CPU 101 sets the accumulator guide 29 from the lowered state to the raised state, and sets the photosensitive paper peeled by the peeling
[0112]
Next, the carry-out process in step S209 in FIG. 2 will be described using the flowchart in FIG. The photosensitive paper held in the accumulated state in the paper discharge unit 50 is conveyed to the
[0113]
First, the CPU 101 opens the exit shutter 55 (step S601), and allows the photosensitive paper to pass. Then, the carry-out motor M8 attached to the roller 28 is activated (step S602), and the conveyance of the photosensitive paper to the
[0114]
Thereafter, the CPU 101 detects the photosensitive paper by the exit sensor, and determines whether there is photosensitive paper at the exit (step S603). If the photosensitive paper is at the exit (Y in step S603), the conveyance of the photosensitive paper is continued, and if no photosensitive paper is detected at the exit (N in step S603), the carry-out motor M8 is stopped. (Step S604), the exit shutter 55 is closed (Step S605), and this process is terminated.
[0115]
Thereafter, in the flowchart of FIG. 2, the CPU 101 proceeds to step S <b> 203 and repeats reception of image data, paper feed processing, print processing, paper discharge processing, and carry-out processing.
[0116]
The effects described below can be obtained by the “dot color misregistration prevention process” in the present embodiment described above.
[0117]
(1) In this embodiment, image data in a state of being color-separated into plates for each color of yellow (Y), magenta (M), cyan (C) and black (K) is received, and the image data Generating light source drive data based on the light source, driving a plurality of light sources according to the light source drive data, exposing a photosensitive material composed of a plurality of coloring layers with light having different wavelengths, and recording a color image on the photosensitive material. In order to convert the reproduced color density data into light source drive data after converting the image data into reproduced color density data representing the reproduced color density, reproduction color density data of any one of Y, M, and C other than K YMC density / light source drive data conversion table for converting image data into light source drive data, and K density / light source drive data conversion table for converting K reproduction color density data into light source drive data. [0118]
Yes.
[0119]
In this way, the K (black) color misregistration that cannot be adjusted by the host-side dot gain adjustment because only K1 color image data is held can be eliminated on the image recording apparatus side. It becomes possible.
[0120]
(2) In the case of the above (1), the YMC density / light source drive data conversion table is obtained by superimposing one of Y, M, and C on the photosensitive material, or superimposing one of the dots. It is preferable that the table is designed so that the respective densities of Y, M, and C are accurately reproduced.
[0121]
In this way, faithful color reproduction is possible when no color shift other than K occurs.
[0122]
(3) In the case of (2) above, the K density / light source drive data conversion table generates the K when superimposing Y, M, and C dots on the photosensitive material. It is preferable that the table has a density reproducibility lower than the density reproducibility in the YMC density / light source drive data conversion table and is designed so that the overlapping sizes of the Y, M, and C dots are aligned.
[0123]
In this way, when color misregistration other than K does not occur, faithful color reproduction is possible, and in the case of K, a dot color that cannot be adjusted even by dot gain adjustment on the host device side. Deviation prevention is possible.
