The present invention relates to a head protecting airbag device having a configuration in which an airbag folded and housed on the upper edge side of an opening inside a vehicle is deployed and inflated to cover the opening inside the vehicle.

2. Description of the Related Art Conventionally, there has been known a head protection airbag device in which an airbag is folded in a manner that improves the deployment performance of the airbag (see, for example, Patent Document 1).

In the airbag apparatus described above, first, the airbag is folded in two in the vertical direction so that the airbag when deployed and inflated does not interfere with vehicle interior projections such as seat belt anchors provided on the inner wall of the pillar garnish or the like. In this state, the airbag is folded so that the lower edge side approaches the upper edge side, and the airbag is stored, or the upper edge side of the airbag is folded bellows, and the lower edge side of the airbag is Rolls were folded and the airbag was stored.
JP 2000-118346 A

However, in the airbag of the head protection airbag device described above, since it protrudes toward the vehicle inner side from the storage part in the initial stage of deployment and inflation, it can prevent interference with the vehicle inner protrusion such as a seat belt anchor. There is a headrest etc. in the indoor part away from the wall, and interference with these must be taken into consideration, and measures to prevent catching with interferences such as various seat belt anchors and headrests are necessary. It was.

The present invention solves the above-mentioned problems, and can change the direction of the airbag in the middle of deployment and inflation, appropriately prevent interference with various interference objects, and ensure smooth deployment and inflation of the airbag. An object of the present invention is to provide a head protection airbag device.

The head protection airbag device according to the present invention includes a head protection airbag configured such that an airbag folded and housed on the upper edge side of an opening on the inside of the vehicle expands downward and covers the opening on the inside of the vehicle. A device,
The airbag is folded and opened so that the lower edge of the airbag approaches the upper edge when the airbag is fully inflated. Is stored on the upper edge side of the
As the inner and outer roll folding part with the reverse part to be reversed while the lower part of the roll fold is wound on the inner side or the outer side of the lower edge, on the upper side beyond the reverse part, the lower folding part below the reverse part It is folded as an upper fold part wound on the vehicle outer side or the vehicle inner side that is reverse to the winding method.

In the head protection airbag device according to the present invention, the lower folding portion of the airbag inner / outer roll folding portion, for example, the lower edge of the airbag is folded around the vehicle exterior, and the upper folding portion above the lower folding portion is lowered. If the side fold is reversely rolled, when the inner and outer roll folds are unfolded and expanded, first, when the upper fold is unfolded, the lower fold is If the lower folding part is deployed so as to be pushed diagonally downward on the inner side and then over the reversal point, the lower edge side of the airbag is attached to the outside of the vehicle as the lower winding part is unwound. Expand so that it is pushed diagonally downward.

That is, at the inner and outer roll folding parts in this case, in the initial stage of expansion and expansion, it is deployed obliquely downward on the inner side of the vehicle so as to prevent interference with the inner side projections such as seat belt anchors provided on the inner wall of the vehicle, and thereafter In order to prevent interference with the headrest, it is deployed obliquely downward on the outside of the vehicle to complete the deployment and inflation, so even if there are interference objects such as seat vent anchors and headrests, the airbag can be smoothly Can be expanded and inflated.

Also, conversely to the above, if the lower fold part is folded around the airbag at the inner side of the vehicle and the upper fold part is a reverse roll fold, when the inner and outer roll folds are deployed and expanded, First, when the upper folding part is deployed, the lower folding part is deployed obliquely downward on the outside of the vehicle, and then the lower folding part is deployed beyond the reversal point. Expand diagonally downward.

That is, in the inner and outer roll folding part in this case, in the initial stage of expansion of expansion, along the inner wall of the side window glass or the like, it develops in the diagonally downward direction on the outside of the vehicle, and then deploys in the diagonally downward direction on the inside of the vehicle, Since the deployment and inflation are completed, the impact of the friction with the inner wall of the vehicle at the initial stage of the deployment and the like is great, and the airbag moves away from the inner wall during the deployment when the deployment speed of the airbag is significantly reduced. Therefore, it can expand and expand smoothly.

Therefore, in the head protection airbag device according to the present invention, it is possible to prevent the interference with various interference objects by changing the direction of the airbag in the middle of the deployment and to ensure the smooth deployment and inflation of the airbag. it can.

And if the inner / outer roll folding part is arranged on at least a part of the airbag, not the entire airbag, in one airbag, a vehicle inner protrusion such as a seat belt anchor or a headrest, or The interference with the vehicle inner wall itself can be appropriately dealt with according to the part.

In this case, the airbag is configured by providing an adjacent inflatable portion that can be inflated together with the inner and outer roll fold portions, adjacent to the inner and outer roll fold portions in the front-rear direction, The expansion part communicated with the upper folding part and below the inverted part may be separated from the lower folding part, and may be folded by a folding method different from the folding method of the lower folding part.

In such a configuration, the upper folding portion of the inner and outer roll folding portions above the reversing portion and the upper expanding portion of the adjacent inflating portion are roll-folded in the same direction, and the lower folding portion of the inner and outer roll folding portions is folded. The airbag can be folded in a different manner of folding the portion and the lower inflated portion in the adjacent inflating portion. Therefore, at the initial stage of inflation of the airbag, the inner / outer roll folding part and the adjacent inflated part are deployed in the same state, and thereafter, the lower folded part beyond the reversal point and the lower inflated part of the adjacent inflating part are deployed and inflated. Can be different. As a result, depending on the location of the airbag, further appropriate measures can be taken with respect to interference with the vehicle interior projection such as the seat belt anchor, the headrest, or the vehicle inner wall itself.

Further, when the airbag is configured to include an adjacent inflatable portion that is adjacent to the inner / outer roll fold portion in the front-rear direction and is inflatable together with the inner / outer roll fold portion, Up to the inner and outer roll folding sites may be separated.

In such a configuration, it is possible to deploy and inflate the adjacent inflatable part in a state different from the inner and outer roll folding parts from the initial stage of inflation of the airbag to the completion of inflation, and according to the part of the airbag as described above. Thus, further appropriate measures can be taken with respect to interference with the vehicle interior protrusions such as the seat belt anchor, the headrest, or the vehicle inner wall itself.

DESCRIPTION OF EXEMPLARY EMBODIMENTS Hereinafter, an embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. As shown in FIG. 1, a head protecting airbag device M1 according to a first embodiment is used to connect an airbag 11 to a door or a window portion on the inside of a vehicle. Then, the mounting bolts 32 are inserted into the mounting holes 12a and 31c and screwed into the nuts 2b fixed to the peripheral edge of the mounting hole 2a of the inner panel 2, whereby each mounting portion 12 is mounted to the inner panel 2. Yes.

As shown in FIGS. 1 and 4, the airbag cover 9 is configured from the lower edge side of each of the pillar garnish 4 disposed in the front pillar portion FP and the roof head lining 5 disposed in the roof side rail portion RR. Yes. The front pillar garnish 4 and the roof head lining 5 are made of synthetic resin and fixedly attached to the inner panel 2 of the body 1 in the vehicle interior I of the front pillar portion FP and the roof side rail portion RR. Further, the roof head lining 5 is disposed from the vicinity above the front pillar portion FP to the vicinity above the rear pillar portion RP through the center pillar portion CP as an intermediate pillar portion.

The airbag 11 is manufactured by bag weaving, and as shown in FIGS. 1, 2, 4 and 5 (5-1 and 5-2), the inflating gas G from the inflator 34 is caused to flow in and deployed from the folded state. And it is folded and accommodated in the upper edge side periphery UW of the opening W so that the opening W and the vehicle inside I of the pillar garnishes 6 and 7 of the pillar portions RP and CP may be covered.

And the airbag 11 is provided with the gas inflow part 13 into which the gas G for inflation flows in. A plurality of attachment portions 12 for attaching to the inner panel 2 on the body 1 side are formed on the upper edge 11 a side of the airbag 11, and each attachment portion 12 has an attachment hole 12 a through which the attachment bolt 32 is inserted. It is penetrated.

In the gas inflow portion 13, a cylindrical connection port portion 16 that is connected to the inflator 34 protrudes rearward from a central portion in the front-rear direction on the upper edge 11 a side of the airbag 11. If the gas inflow part 13 flows in the expansion gas G from the connection port part 16 and completes the expansion, the wall part 13a on the vehicle inner side I and the wall part 13b on the vehicle outer side O are separated in the vehicle interior / exterior direction. Become.

In the case of the embodiment, when the expansion is completed, the gas inflow portion 13 includes the vertical cell portion 15 that expands and expands so as to cover the opening W and the inner side I of the pillar garnishes 6 and 7 of the pillar portions RP and CP. Are arranged in parallel. Each vertical cell portion 15 is configured to swell in a vertical bar shape when inflation is completed, and its upper end communicates with a supply path portion 14 extending in the front-rear direction on the upper edge 11 a side of the airbag 11. In the gas inflow portion 13, the expansion gas G from the connection port portion 16 flows through the supply passage portion 14 to each vertical cell portion 15 and expands and expands.

The airbag 11 according to the embodiment is folded so that the whole is the inner / outer roll folding portion 18. The folding process will be described below. First, as shown in FIGS. An outer roll that winds on the vehicle outer wall portion 13b side with the lower edge 11b of the airbag 11 facing the vehicle outer side O in a state where the wall portions 13a and 13b are overlapped so that the airbag 11 is flatly deployed. Fold it. After the outer roll is folded to the vicinity of the intermediate portion in the vertical direction of each vertical cell portion 15, the vicinity of the intermediate portion in the vertical direction of the vertical cell portion 15 is reversed as the reversal portion 21 as shown in FIGS. Then, the lower folded portion 19 that is folded on the outer roll is directed toward the vehicle inner side I, and the upper folded portion 20 that is above the reversal point 21 is folded on the inner roll that is wound on the vehicle interior side wall portion 13a side. After that, in the vicinity of the supply path portion 14, a bellows fold portion 23 is formed that folds in the front-rear direction and folds up and down in a zigzag manner.

Then, after the airbag 11 is folded, the folding operation of the airbag 11 can be completed by winding a wrapping material (not shown) that can be broken for prevention of collapse at a predetermined location.

Further, after wrapping the folded airbag 11 with a wrapping material (not shown), the inflator 34, the mounting brackets 31 and 35, and the clamp 37 are attached to form an airbag assembly. Then, the mounting brackets 31 and 35 are arranged at predetermined positions on the inner panel 2, the mounting holes 12a and the like are inserted and bolts 32 and 36 are fixed, and the mounting brackets 31 and 35 are fixed to the inner panel 2, The airbag assembly is attached to the body 1. Furthermore, if the front pillar garnish 4 and the roof head lining 5 are attached to the body 1, and the rear pillar garnish 6 and the center pillar garnish 7 are attached to the body 1, the head protecting airbag device M1 can be mounted on the vehicle.

Then, after the head protection airbag device M1 is mounted on the vehicle, when the inflator 34 is operated and the inflation gas G is discharged, the inflation gas G is changed to the air as shown by the two-dot chain line in FIG. The bag 11 flows from the connection port portion 16 of the bag 11 into the supply passage portion 14 and is supplied from the supply passage portion 14 to each vertical cell portion 15. Therefore, the airbag 11 breaks the wrapped wrapping material (not shown), and further pushes and opens the airbag cover 9 on the lower edge side of the front pillar garnish 4 and the roof head lining 5, along the two-dot chain line in FIG. As shown, while expanding downward, it expands and expands so as to cover the inside I of the opening W, the center pillar portion CP, and the rear pillar portion RP.

At this time, in the airbag 11 of the embodiment, the lower folding portion 19 of the inner / outer roll folding portion 18 is an outer roll folding in which the lower edge 11b is wound around the vehicle outer side O, and the upper folding portion 20 above the lower folding portion is used as the lower folding portion. When the inner and outer roll folding portion 18 is expanded and expanded, first, as shown in FIGS. 4A and 5B, when the upper folding portion 19 is expanded, the inner roll folding is performed. With the unwinding, the lower folding portion 19 expands so as to be pushed obliquely downward in the vehicle interior I, and then inverted as shown in B, C, and D of FIGS. If the lower folding portion 19 is deployed beyond the portion 21, the lower edge 11b side of the airbag 11 is deployed so as to be pushed obliquely downward on the vehicle outer side O as the outer roll fold is unwound.

That is, in the airbag 11 (inner / outer roll folding part 18) in this case, as shown in FIGS. 5A and 5B, in-deployment on the inner side of the vehicle such as a seat belt anchor provided on the inner wall of the vehicle, as shown in FIGS. The vehicle is developed obliquely below the vehicle interior I so as to prevent interference with the vehicle 41, and thereafter, obliquely below the vehicle outside O so as to prevent interference with the headrest 42, as shown in FIG. Then, as shown in FIG. 5-2D, deployment and inflation are completed, so that the airbag 11 can be smoothly deployed even if there are interferences 40 such as seat vent anchors and headrests. Can be inflated.

Therefore, in the head protection airbag device M1 of the first embodiment, the direction of the airbag 11 in the middle of deployment and inflation can be changed to prevent interference with various interference objects 40, and the airbag 11 can be smoothly deployed and expanded. Can be secured.

In the first embodiment, the inner and outer roll folding portions 18 are formed in the same manner as the entire airbag 11, but the inner and outer roll folding portions 18 that are reversed and rolled in the same direction are provided in FIG. Like 2nd Embodiment shown to 6-9, you may arrange | position to a part of airbag 11A.

The airbag 11A of the head protection airbag device M2 according to the second embodiment has a first embodiment on the front portion 11c side including three vertical cell portions 15 (15A, 15B, and 15C) in the airbag 11A. The inner / outer roll folding part 18 similar to the airbag 11 in the form is disposed, and the folding part 18 is provided on the rear part 11d side including the three vertical cell parts 15 (15D, 15E, 15F) in the airbag 11A. The inner and outer roll folding portions 18A in different winding directions are arranged and folded and stored.

That is, on the front portion 11c side, as shown in FIG. 3 described in the first embodiment, the airbag 11A is flattened so that the vehicle interior / vehicle exterior wall portions 13a and 13b are brought into contact with each other. The lower edge 11b of the airbag 11A is folded toward the vehicle outer side O on the vehicle outer side wall 13b side, and then folded to the vicinity of the intermediate portion in the vertical direction of each vertical cell portion 15 and reversed. The lower folded portion 19 that is reversed at the location 21 and folded outward is directed toward the vehicle inner side I, the upper folded portion 20 that is above the inverted location 21 is folded on the inner roll wound on the vehicle interior side wall portion 13a side, and the supply path In the vicinity of the portion 14, the bellows fold portion 23 is formed by folding the bellows.

On the rear portion 11d side, as shown in FIGS. 7A and 7B, from the state in which the airbag 11A is flatly deployed, the lower edge 11b of the airbag 11A is directed toward the vehicle inner side I, and the vehicle interior side wall portion 13a side. Fold the inner roll. Then, after the inner roll is folded to the vicinity of the intermediate portion in the vertical direction of each vertical cell portion 15, the vicinity of the intermediate portion in the vertical direction of the vertical cell portion 15 is reversed as the reversal portion 21 as shown in FIGS. Then, the lower folded portion 19 that is folded on the inner roll is directed toward the vehicle outer side O, and the upper folded portion 20 above the reversal point 21 is folded on the outer roll that is wound on the vehicle outer side wall portion 13b side. Thereafter, in the same manner as the front portion 11c side of the airbag 11A, the bellows fold portion 23 is formed by folding the bellows near the supply passage portion 14.

In the airbag 11A, the slit 24 is provided on the lower edge 11b side between the front portion 11c and the rear portion 11d, and the separation of the front and rear portions 11c and 11d in the front-rear direction at the completion of deployment and inflation is prevented. Further, at the time of folding the front and rear portions 11c and 11d, a connecting member 17 that is flexible or rotatable is provided so as not to hinder roll folding.

Further, in the head protecting airbag device M2, the airbag 11A includes the connecting portion 17, and the folding method of the rear portion 11d is different from that of the airbag 11. In addition, the airbag of the first embodiment The same members and parts as those in the first embodiment are the same as those in the device M1, and the description thereof is omitted.

Furthermore, the airbag 11A after being folded is mounted on the vehicle as in the first embodiment.

And in this airbag apparatus M2, at the time of the front part 11c side of airbag 11A at the time of operation | movement, it is AB of FIG. 5-1 demonstrated by 1st Embodiment in the initial stage of expansion | deployment similarly to 1st Embodiment. As shown in Fig. 5B, the vehicle is developed obliquely below the vehicle interior I so as to prevent interference with the vehicle interior projections 41 such as seat belt anchors provided on the vehicle interior wall, and thereafter shown in Fig. 5-2C. Thus, in order to prevent interference with the headrest 42, the vehicle is expanded obliquely downward from the vehicle outer side O, and then, as shown in FIG. Even if there is an interfering object 40 such as a headrest, the front portion 11c side of the airbag 11A can be smoothly expanded and inflated.

On the other hand, on the rear portion 11d side of the airbag 11A, the lower fold portion 19 of the inner / outer roll fold portion 18A is used as an inner roll fold that winds the lower edge 11b around the vehicle interior I, and the upper fold portion 20 above the lower fold portion. When the inner and outer roll folding part 18A is expanded and expanded, as shown in FIGS. 8 and 9A and 9B, when the upper folding part 19 is expanded, With the cancellation of the outer roll folding, the lower folding portion 19 is unfolded so as to be pushed diagonally below the vehicle outer side O, and then B, C, and D in FIG. 9 (9-1, 9-2). As shown in FIG. 5, when the lower folding part 19 is deployed beyond the reversal point 21, the lower edge 11b side of the airbag 11A is pushed obliquely downward in the vehicle interior I with the cancellation of the inner roll folding. Expand as follows.

In other words, at the rear portion 11d side (inner / outer roll folding part 18A) of the airbag 11A, as shown in FIGS. 9-1A and B, the occupant interferes with the wind glass 43 serving as the inner wall of the vehicle at the initial stage of deployment and inflation. The vehicle is developed obliquely below the vehicle exterior O away from the head H of the vehicle P, and then obliquely below the vehicle interior I so that the frictional force with the window glass 43 can be reduced as shown in FIG. 9C. Then, as shown in D of FIG. 9-2, since the deployment and inflation are completed, the influence of friction with the vehicle inner wall 43 at the initial stage of deployment and the like is large, and the rear portion 11d side of the airbag 11A When the deployment speed of the airbag 11A is remarkably reduced, the rear portion 11d side of the airbag 11A is separated from the vehicle inner wall 43 in the middle of deployment, so that the airbag 11A can be smoothly deployed and inflated.

Therefore, even in the airbag device M2 of the second embodiment, the front portion 11c and the rear portion 11d of the airbag 11A in the middle of deployment and inflation can be changed in direction so that interference with various interference objects 40 can be prevented. It is possible to ensure a smooth expansion and expansion of 11A.

In the case where the inner and outer roll folding portions are partially provided in the airbag, the airbag may be folded by a normal folding method such as roll folding or bellows folding at portions other than the inner and outer roll folding portions. For example, the airbag 11A The rear portion 11d side may be accordion folded. Further, an inner / outer roll fold portion 18 is provided on the rear portion 11d side of the airbag 11B, an inner / outer roll fold portion 18A is provided on the front portion 11c side of the airbag 11B, and the front portion 11c side is accordion folded, Or you may fold by various folding methods, such as roll folding wound around the vehicle outside.

In addition, in the first and second embodiments, the supply path unit 14 is folded by bellows, but may be folded by roll folding.

Furthermore, when providing an inner / outer roll folding part in a part of the airbag, it may be configured like the head protecting airbag device M3 of the third embodiment shown in FIGS.

In the airbag 11B of the head protecting airbag device M3 of the third embodiment, the vertical cell portion 15F (25) at the rear end of the rear portion 11d is folded differently from the inner / outer roll folding portion 18A. That is, in this airbag 11B, the inner and outer roll folding part 18A is adjacent in the front-rear direction (in the embodiment, the rear side), and the adjacent inflating portion 25 that can be inflated together with the inner and outer roll folding part 18A is provided. The expansion part 25a above the reversal part 21 in the adjacent expansion part 25 is communicated with the upper folding part 20 of the inner / outer roll folding part 18A, and the expansion part 25b below the reversal part 21 is below the inner / outer roll folding part 18A. While being separated from the side folding portion 19, the folding is performed in a folding manner different from the folding manner of the lower folding portion 19. In the case of the airbag 11B according to the third embodiment, as shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, the lower inflated portion 25b is provided with a slit 27, and is provided with a slit 27 and a front-rear portion 19b. It is separated in the direction and is folded together with the upper expansion part 25a by outer roll folds wound around the vehicle outer side O.

In the airbag apparatus M3, the airbag 11B has the vertical cell portion 15F at the rear end as the adjacent inflatable portion 25, and the folding method of the adjacent inflatable portion 25 is different from that of the airbag 11B. The same members and parts as those of the second embodiment are denoted by the same reference numerals and description thereof is omitted.

Further, the airbag 11B after being folded is mounted on the vehicle as in the first and second embodiments.

And in this airbag apparatus M3, in operation, the inner and outer roll folding part 18 on the front part 11c side of the airbag 11B and the inner and outer roll folding part 18A on the rear part 11d side are the same as the airbag 11B of the second embodiment. It will be in the expanded and expanded form.

However, in the adjacent inflating portion 25, in the initial stage of deployment of the airbag 11B, as shown in FIG. 12A, in the same state as the inner / outer roll folding portion 18A, that is, the lower inflating portion 25b is obliquely below the vehicle outer side O. Unfold to project in the direction. Then, in the vicinity beyond the reversal point 21, the vehicle inner side I of the lower folding portion 19 of the inner / outer roll folding portion 18 </ b> A is developed obliquely downward (see B and C in FIG. 9). As shown in FIG. 5B, the lower edge 11b side of the airbag 11B is projected obliquely downward from the vehicle outer side O, in other words, the vehicle inflating the vehicle outer side O of the adjacent inflating portion 25 in the diagonally downward direction. Expansion will be maintained and deployment expansion will be completed.

Therefore, in the adjacent inflating portion 25, when the interference 40 such as the headrest 41 or the head H of the occupant P is approaching the window glass 43, it can be suitably deployed and inflated.

In the third embodiment, the case where the adjacent inflating portion 25 is disposed at the rear end of the airbag 11B is shown. However, the adjacent inflating portion 25 is disposed at an intermediate portion in the front-rear direction of the airbag or near the front end of the airbag. Also good. Further, the lower expansion portion 25b of the adjacent expansion portion 25 may be folded such as bellows folding (refer to parentheses in FIG. 11B) as long as it is folded differently from the lower folding portion 19. Furthermore, not only the inner / outer roll folding part 18A but also the inner / outer roll folding part 18 may be adjacent to the adjacent inflating portion 25, or may be disposed between the plurality of folding parts 18 or the folding parts 18A. .

Furthermore, when the air bag 11C of the fourth embodiment shown in FIG. 13 includes an inflatable adjacent inflatable portion together with the inner and outer roll folding portions 18 and 18A, the adjacent inflatable portion 25A is reversed. You may provide the slit 28 to the upper direction beyond the location 21, and you may make it isolate | separate in the front-back direction with the inner / outer roll folding part 18 * 18A. In other words, a predetermined number of vertical cell portions 15 are separated in the front-rear direction by providing slits 28, and at least one vertical cell portion 15 is used as an inner / outer roll folding portion 18 or an inner / outer roll folding portion 18A. At least one vertical cell portion 15 (adjacent expansion portion 25A) may be folded in various ways.

In the case of the airbag 11C of the fourth embodiment, the vertical cell portion 15A is a bellows fold, the vertical cell portion 15B is an outer roll fold shown in FIG. 11, and the vertical cell portion 15C is an inner / outer roll fold as shown in FIG. The vertical cell portions 15D and 15E are the inner and outer roll folding portions 18A shown in FIG. 15, and the vertical cell portions 15F are folded as the outer roll folds shown in FIG. 11, and are folded into the vehicle as in the first to third embodiments. Mount.

In such a configuration, the adjacent inflatable portion 25A (the vertical cell portions 15A, 15B, and 15F) is inflated and inflated in a state that is different from the inner and outer roll folding portions 18 and 18A from the initial stage of inflating and inflation of the airbag 11C.
