本発明はカメラからの画像を電気信号に変換し、記録媒体に記録する記録装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
動画像を記録する装置として、記録媒体に磁気テープや光ディスク、フラッシュメモリ等を使ったデジタルビデオカメラ(以下DVCと称す)が知られている。また静止画記録用として登場したデジタルスチルカメラ(以下デジカメと称す)も最近では動画を記録できるタイプが多くなってきている。これらの機器の動画の使い方は、過去には記録媒体に記録するだけであったが、短時間の動画ファイル(動画クリップ)を作り、電子メール等で遠くに配信することも一般的になってきている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。

以上説明したように、本発明によれば、記録モードに応じて記録中を示す記録ランプの点燈形態を変えることを特徴とすることにより、被写体側にいる人は記録ランプを見ることでどのようなモードで記録されているか判断可能となり、モードに応じた撮られ方をすることができる。また、本発明によれば記録モードに応じてカウントダウン表示を行うことによって、被写体になる人は記録モードと残り時間とに応じた最適な撮られ方をすることができる。
