Abstract
Description
【0001】

Next, a resource utilization method in the information processing system will be described. In the information processing system according to the present invention, not only the topology information, processing capability (bandwidth) and processing load of the network, but also processing devices connected to the network (here, the server device and the client device are examples of processing devices). Cost evaluation is performed according to Formula 1 (below) with processing capacity and processing load as parameters, and the method of use is determined. The parameters used for this evaluation are initial values given in advance.

[0013]
Here, the processing cost in the network is the reciprocal of the bandwidth (the unit is 100 Mbps), the processing load is the traffic (the unit is 100 Mbps), and the load factor is the ratio of the traffic to the bandwidth (the total amount of traffic flowing there). The processing cost in the server device is the reciprocal of the processing capability (unit is 100 MIPS), the processing load is the processing capability necessary for business execution (unit is 100 MIPS), and the load factor is the processing load for the processing capability (executed by the server device). Total load of work). The processing cost in the client device is the reciprocal of the processing capability (unit is 100 MIPS), the processing load is the processing capability necessary for accessing the server device (unit is 100 MIPS), and the load factor is the ratio of the processing load to the processing capability. A is a weighting coefficient for the cost in the network, B is a weighting coefficient for the cost in the server apparatus, and C is a weighting coefficient for the cost in the client apparatus.

[0019]
As described above, the information processing system according to the present invention is optimized by performing evaluation based on the processing capability and processing load of the network and various processing devices connected thereto, and performing resource use control of the network and the processing device. The system performance can be improved because a simple resource utilization method is adopted.
The evaluation may be performed in consideration of not only the parameters related to the system performance but also the generated costs such as a device or network usage fee. As shown in

Moreover, priority may be taken into consideration in the evaluation, and for example, control may be performed so as to suppress the processing load of the server device that performs important work.
Moreover, although the case where the optimal resource utilization method was taken with the cost evaluation result was demonstrated, it is not limited to it.
In addition, the processing apparatus is a client apparatus and a server apparatus, and the configuration is described as an example in which the processing apparatus is connected to the client network and the server network, respectively, but other processing apparatuses and other networks may be used, and the number of processing apparatuses It is not limited. Further, the connection of the processing devices is not limited to both ends of the network.
[0024]
As described above, the information processing system and the resource utilization method according to the present invention include a plurality of processing devices (an example of a server device and a client device) that process information and a plurality of transmission paths that connect the plurality of processing devices. A network to be provided, and evaluated using the processing capacity and processing load of the plurality of processing devices and the processing capacity and processing load of the network, and based on the evaluation results, the network and the plurality of processing devices By performing resource use control, it is possible to improve the performance of the information processing system.

Further, the processing capacity and the processing load for each of a plurality of combinations of the processing apparatus and the transmission path selected from the plurality of processing apparatuses and the plurality of transmission paths using the processing capacity and the processing load of each of the processing apparatus and the network. And using a plurality of calculation results, it is possible to select one combination from a plurality of combinations using the calculation results.
[0026]
Further, a plurality of calculation results are obtained using a calculation formula for calculating a cost using the processing capacity and processing load of the combination as parameters, and one combination is obtained from the plurality of combinations based on the obtained plurality of calculation results. By selecting, it becomes possible to evaluate quantitatively using a predetermined parameter. In addition, it is possible to acquire an appropriate evaluation result by changing / adding the type of parameter.
