<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the operability of a mobile communication terminal which achieves a chat function using email. <P>SOLUTION: The mobile communication terminal comprises: a mail selecting part 6 for letting a user select an email in a mail storage part 4; a mail browsing part 5 for displaying the email selected by the user on a mail browsing screen D3; a member storage part 8 for causing members participating in chat to be stored as registered members; and a chat processing part 7 by which the text of the email received from any of the registered members while the chat screen D1 is being displayed is displayed within a chat screen D1 as a chat message. 本発明は、携帯通信端末に係り、さらに詳しくは、電子メールを利用してチャット機能を実現する携帯電話機などの携帯通信端末に関する。

【従来の技術】
最近では、ほとんどの携帯電話機において電子メールの送受信を行うことができる。このような携帯電話機の電子メール送受信機能を利用して、擬似チャット機能を実現している携帯電話機が従来からあった。チャットとは、２以上の通信端末間において、文字を用いて概ねリアルタイムで会話を行う通信形態である。

携帯電話機宛の電子メールは、一旦、通信事業者（キャリア）のメールセンターに設置されたメールサーバに蓄積される。このメールサーバは、電子メールが到達した時点で、その宛先である携帯電話機に対しメール受信通知を行っている。このメール受信通知を受け取った携帯電話機は、直ちにメールセンターから電子メールの受信を開始する。つまり、携帯電話機の場合、電波状態が良好であれば、リアルタイムに準じたスピードで電子メールを受信することができる。

従って、携帯電話機では、通信事業者がチャット機能実現のための特別なサービスを提供しなくても、通常どおりの電子メール送受信機能を利用して、準リアルタイムのチャット機能を実現することができる。つまり、携帯電話機内部の処理のみによって擬似的にチャット機能を実現している。

この様な擬似チャット機能を有する携帯電話機では、チャットに参加するメンバーのメールアドレスを予め登録しておくことにより、登録メンバーとの間で電子メールの送受信が行われる。そして、チャット画面の表示中に登録メンバーからの電子メールを受信すると、その電子メールの本文がチャットメッセージとしてチャット画面上に時系列に表示され、２人以上のメンバー間で文字による会話が成立する。

擬似チャットを開始する場合、最初に発言するユーザが、まず携帯電話機のメニューからチャットモードを選択し、チャット画面を表示させる。そして、チャット画面から登録メンバーに対しチャットメッセージを含む電子メールを送信する。一方、この電子メールを受信したメンバーは、当該電子メールにチャットメッセージが含まれることを確認した後、メニューからチャットモードを選択してチャット画面を表示させる。この様にして、チャット画面を表示させた登録メンバーのみがチャットに参加することができる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
上述した従来の携帯電話機の場合、チャットを開始するための操作が煩雑であるという問題があった。すなわち、電子メールを受信した場合、当該受信メールにチャットメッセージが含まれているか否かをユーザ自身が確認する必要がある。そして、チャットメッセージが含まれている場合には、ユーザがメニューからチャットモードを選択して、チャット画面を表示させなければならない。

また、メンバーとして登録されていない送信元からチャットメッセージとしての電子メールを受信した場合には、メニューからチャットモードを選択する前に、当該送信元をメンバーに登録しておく必要があった。また、登録メンバーからなるメンバーグループが複数ある場合には、受信メールの送信元をメンバーに含むメンバーグループを選択しなければならない。

さらに、従来の携帯電話機では、チャット画面の表示中に登録メンバーから受信した電子メールをチャットメッセージとして表示しているため、最初の発言者以外のチャット画面には、当該発言者による最初のチャットメッセージが表示されないという問題があった。

本発明は、上記の事情に鑑みてなされたものであり、電子メールを利用してチャット機能を実現する携帯通信端末の操作性を向上させることを目的とする。特に、チャット開始時の操作性を向上させることを目的とする。また、チャット画面に最初のチャットメッセージを表示させることを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明による携帯通信端末は、メール一覧画面を表示し、メール記憶手段に記憶された電子メールのいずれかをユーザに選択させるメール一覧表示手段と、メール閲覧画面を表示し、ユーザにより選択された電子メールをメール閲覧画面に表示するメール閲覧手段と、チャットに参加するメンバーを登録メンバーとして記憶するメンバー記憶手段と、チャット画面を表示し、チャット画面の表示中に登録メンバーから受信した電子メールの本文をチャットメッセージとしてチャット画面内に表示するチャット処理手段と、メール一覧画面において選択された電子メールのサブジェクトに所定の文字列が含まれる場合に確認画面を表示し、ユーザに対しチャット画面表示への同意を促すチャット起動照会手段とを備え、上記確認画面においてユーザが同意した場合に、上記チャット処理手段がチャット画面を表示するように構成される。

この様な構成により、電子メールのサブジェクトに基づいて、当該電子メールがチャットメールであるか否かを判別し、チャットメール以外の電子メールである場合にはメール閲覧画面を表示する一方、チャットメールである場合にはチャット画面を表示させることができる。従って、電子メールを閲覧するためのメール選択操作をチャットメールに対して行えば、チャット画面を起動することができ、簡単な操作でチャット画面を表示させることができる。

特に、チャットメールの受信確認後に、チャット画面を表示させたい場合の操作が簡便になる。また、チャットメールが選択された場合、ユーザの意思確認を行ってチャット画面を表示することができるため、ユーザが意図しない場合にまでチャット画面が表示されるのを防止することができる。

また、本発明による携帯通信端末は、上記チャット起動照会手段が、上記メール一覧画面において選択された電子メールの送信元が登録メンバーでない場合、この送信元を登録メンバーとしてメンバー記憶手段に追加するように構成される。この様な構成により、登録メンバー以外を送信元とするチャットメールが選択された場合であっても、チャット画面を表示し、当該送信元を含むチャットに参加することができる。

また、本発明による携帯通信端末は、上記チャット起動照会手段が、上記メール一覧画面において選択された電子メールの送信元が登録メンバーでない場合に、ユーザに対し、チャット画面表示及びメンバー登録への同意を同時に促すように構成される。この様な構成により、ユーザが意図しない送信元がメンバー登録されるのを防止することができる。また、メンバー登録及びチャット画面表示への同意を同時に促すことにより、ユーザは意思表示のための操作入力を１回行うだけで、メンバー登録及びチャット画面の表示を行うことができる。

また、本発明による携帯通信端末は、上記メール一覧画面において選択された電子メールの送信元が登録メンバーでない場合であって、上記チャット起動照会手段が、この送信元を登録メンバーとしてメンバー記憶手段に追加することができない場合に、上記メール閲覧手段が、上記電子メールをメール閲覧画面に表示するように構成される。この様な構成により、メンバー登録できない場合には、通常の電子メールと同様、メール閲覧画面において閲覧することができる。

また、本発明による携帯通信端末は、上記メンバー記憶手段が、互いに重複しないメンバーからなる複数のメンバーグループを記憶し、上記確認画面においてユーザが同意した場合に、上記チャット起動照会手段が、上記メール一覧画面において選択された電子メールの送信元が含まれるメンバーグループを選択し、上記チャット処理手段が、選択されたメンバーグループのためのチャット画面を表示するように構成される。

【発明の実施の形態】
実施の形態１．
図１は、本発明の実施の形態１による携帯電話機の要部の一構成例を示したブロック図である。この携帯電話機１は、無線部２、メール送受信部３、メール記憶部４、メール閲覧部５、メール選択部６、チャット処理部７及びメンバー記憶部８により構成される。

無線部２は、アンテナを介して無線基地局（不図示）との間で電波の送受信を行っている。メール送受信部３は、電子メールを送信するためのメール送信部３ａと、電子メールを受信するためのメール受信部３ｂからなる。メール記憶部４は、電子メールｅｍを格納する記憶手段であり、受信済みの電子メール、送信済みの電子メール、下書きの電子メールなどが格納されている。

通信事業者のメールサーバ（不図示）が、宛先を携帯電話機１とする電子メールを受信した場合、無線部２は無線基地局からメール受信通知を受信する。このメール受信通知を受信した場合、メール受信部３ｂは、無線部２を介してメールサーバから電子メールを取得する。メール受信部３ｂは、受信した電子メールをメール記憶部４に格納するとともに、電子メールを受信したことをチャット処理部７へ通知する。また、メール送信部３ａは、チャット処理部７においてユーザが入力したチャットメッセージを電子メールとして各チャットメンバーへ送信する。

メール閲覧部５は、液晶表示画面内にメール閲覧画面を表示し、メール記憶部４に記憶されている電子メールｅｍをメール閲覧画面上に表示する表示処理部である。このメール閲覧画面には、少なくとも本文を含む電子メールの詳細情報が表示される。また、メール閲覧画面に表示される電子メールは、メール選択部６においてユーザにより選択される。

メール選択部６は、メールを一覧表示するためのメール一覧表示部６ａと、チャット画面を起動するためのチャット起動照会部６ｂからなる。

メール一覧表示部６ａは、液晶表示画面内にメール一覧画面を表示し、メール記憶部４に保持されている電子メールｅｍを一覧表示する表示処理部である。このメール一覧画面には、サブジェクト（題名）や、送信元又は送信先のメールアドレスなどが複数の電子メールについて表示される。ユーザは、一覧表示された電子メールのいずれかを選択することにより、その詳細情報をメール閲覧画面に表示させることができる。なお、メール一覧画面は、メール記憶部４内の全ての電子メールを表示するものであってもよいが、一部の電子メール、例えば、受信トレイなどの特定のフォルダ内にある電子メールを表示するものであってもよい。

チャット起動照会部６ｂは、ユーザの選択した電子メールがチャットメッセージを含むチャットメールである場合に、チャット画面を起動する処理部である。このチャット起動照会部６ｂは、サブジェクト及び送信元メールアドレスに基づいて、メール一覧画面において選択された電子メールがチャットメールであるかを判別する。

その結果、選択された電子メールがチャットメールであった場合には、チャット画面の起動についてユーザの同意を求める確認画面を表示する。この確認画面において、ユーザが同意した場合には、チャット処理部７がチャット画面を表示する。一方、同意しなかった場合には、チャットメール以外の通常の電子メールの場合と全く同様にして、メール閲覧部５がメール閲覧画面を表示する。

チャット処理部７は、チャット画面を表示し、チャット画面表示中に送受信されたチャットメールをチャット画面内に時系列順に表示している。このチャット画面には、少なくとも本文を含む電子メールの詳細情報が表示される。チャット画面表示中は、受信メールの送信元に基づいて、当該電子メールがチャットメールであるかを判別している。

図２は、ユーザがメニューの選択操作を行ってチャットを開始する際の画面表示の一例を示した図である。本実施の形態による携帯電話機１では、従来の携帯電話機と同様、チャット画面の起動をメニューから行うことができる。図２の（ａ）には、ユーザがキー操作を行ってメールメニューＭ１を表示させたときの液晶表示画面が示されている。ユーザが移動キーを操作すれば当該メニュー内でフォーカスｆｃが移動し、「チャットメール」にフォーカスｆｃを当てた状態で決定キーを操作すれば、チャット画面Ｄ１を表示させることができる。

図２の（ｂ）は、メールメニューの「チャットメール」を選択した直後の液晶表示画面が示されている。起動当初のチャット画面Ｄ１には、チャットメッセージは何も表示されていない。この状態において、チャットメールの送受信が行われると、これらのチャットメッセージが時系列順にチャット画面Ｄ１内に表示される。

図３は、ユーザが電子メールの閲覧を開始する際の画面表示の一例を示した図である。図３の（ａ）は、電子メールを一覧表示させたときの液晶表示画面が示されている。このメール一覧画面Ｄ２には、メール記憶部４内の受信トレイに格納された受信済みの電子メールが、送信元、サブジェクト及び画像データにより一覧表示されている。

なお、画像データは、電話帳データとしてメールアドレスに対応づけて予め記憶され、送信元メールアドレスに基づいて表示される。また、ニックネームが、電話帳データとしてメールアドレスに対応づけて予め記憶されている場合には、送信元としてメールアドレスに代えてニックネームが表示される。

このメール一覧画面Ｄ２のフォーカスｆｃは、ユーザが移動キーを操作することにより任意の電子メールへ移動する。いずれかの電子メールにフォーカスｆｃを当てた状態で決定キーを操作すれば、メール閲覧画面Ｄ３が表示され、当該電子メールの詳細情報が表示される。図３の（ｂ）は、このときの液晶表示画面が示されている。

図４は、メール一覧画面Ｄ２においてチャットメールが選択された際の画面表示の一例を示した図である。図４の（ａ）は、図３の（ａ）と同一のメール一覧画面Ｄ２を表示中の液晶表示画面が示されている。図３では、チャットメール以外の通常の電子メールが選択された場合の動作を示したのに対し、図４では、チャットメールが選択された場合の動作を示している。

チャットメールとは、チャットメッセージを含む電子メールであり、特定の電子メールがチャットメールであるか否かは、そのサブジェクトに基づいて判別される。例えば、サブジェクトに特定の文字又は文字列を含む電子メールはチャットメールであると判断される。ここでは、文字列が「チャットメール」に一致する電子メールをチャットメールと判断するものとする。

図４の（ｂ）は、チャット画面の起動に関する確認画面が表示された場合の液晶表示画面が示されている。この確認画面Ｃ１は、メール一覧画面Ｄ２において、登録メンバーを送信元とするチャットメールが選択された場合に表示される。すなわち、選択された電子メールのサブジェクトが「チャットメール」であり、かつ、送信元メールアドレスが登録メンバーである場合に、確認画面Ｃ１が表示され、その他の場合にはメール閲覧画面Ｄ３が表示される。

確認画面Ｃ１は、チャット画面を表示することへの同意をユーザに促すための画面であり、ここでは、「登録メンバーです。チャットメールを起動しますか？」というメッセージが表示される。ユーザは、キー操作により「はい」又は「いいえ」を択一的に選択することができる。

ユーザが「はい」を選択し、チャット画面の起動に同意した場合、液晶表示画面にチャット画面Ｄ１が表示される。図４の（ｃ）は、この時の様子を示した図である。一方、「いいえ」を選択して同意しなかった場合には、メール閲覧画面Ｄ３が表示される。図４の（ｄ）は、この時の様子を示した図であり、図３の（ｂ）と同様にして、チャットメールが通常の電子メールとしてメール閲覧画面Ｄ３に表示されている。

図４の（ｃ）では、チャット画面起動の原因となった電子メールの本文が、最初のチャットメッセージとして表示されている。従来の携帯電話機では、メール一覧画面Ｄ２などにおいてチャットメールの受信を確認した場合、図２に示した場合と同様にして、メニューからチャット画面を起動していた。このため、起動直後のチャット画面にはチャットメッセージが何も表示されず、チャット画面起動の原因となった電子メールの本文をチャットメールとして表示させることができなかった。これに対し、メール一覧画面Ｄ２からチャットメールを選択し、チャット画面を起動した場合には、当該メールに含まれるメッセージもチャット画面上に表示させることができる。

図５のステップＳ１０１〜Ｓ１０８は、メール閲覧時の動作の一例を示したフローチャートである。電子メールの詳細情報を閲覧する場合、通常は、まずメール一覧表示部６ａによって液晶表示画面にメール一覧画面Ｄ２が表示される（ステップＳ１０１）。例えば、図２の（ａ）のメールメニューにおいて、ユーザが「受信メール一覧」を選択すれば、受信トレイ内の電子メールの一覧が表示される。

次に、ユーザは、一覧表示された電子メールの中から閲覧したい電子メールを選択する（ステップＳ１０２）。また、チャットメールを受信している場合であって、当該チャットに参加したい場合には、当該チャットメールを選択する。いずれの場合であっても、ユーザの操作は、移動キーの操作によるフォーカスｆｃの移動と、決定キーの操作による電子メールの選択からなり、選択対象のサブジェクトが異なるだけで同じ操作が行われる。

電子メールが選択されると、チャット起動照会部６ｂは、選択された電子メールのサブジェクトに基づいて、当該電子メールがチャットメールであるか否かを判別する（ステップＳ１０３）。電子メールのサブジェクトが文字列「チャットメール」と一致しなければ、チャットメール以外の通常の電子メールであると判断され、メール閲覧部５がメール閲覧画面Ｄ３を表示させる（ステップＳ１０８）。

一方、サブジェクトが「チャットメール」に一致する場合、チャット起動照会部６ｂは、当該チャットメールが登録メンバーからのチャットメールであるか否かを判別する（ステップＳ１０４）。すなわち、電子メールの送信元メールアドレスをメンバー記憶部８に保持された登録メンバーのメールアドレスと比較する。この結果、一致しなければ、メール閲覧部５がメール閲覧画面Ｄ３を表示させる（ステップＳ１０８）。

メール一覧画面Ｄ２において選択された電子メールが、登録メンバーを送信元とするチャットメールである場合には、チャット起動照会部６ｂは、ユーザによる意思表示を求める確認画面Ｃ１を液晶表示画面に表示する（ステップＳ１０５）。この確認画面Ｃ１を見たユーザが、チャット画面起動に同意しなかった場合には、メール閲覧部５がメール閲覧画面Ｄ３を表示させる（ステップＳ１０６）。つまり、確認画面Ｃ１を表示して意思確認を行うことにより、ユーザが意図していない場合にまでチャット画面が起動されるのを防止している。

一方、ユーザが同意した場合には、チャット処理部７が、液晶表示画面にチャット画面Ｄ１を表示する（ステップＳ１０７）。この場合、あらためてメールメニューを表示させ、チャットメールを選択することなく、チャット画面を表示させることができる。

しかも、チャット画面起動の原因となったチャットメールが、最初のチャットメッセージとしてチャット画面内に表示される。つまり、チャット画面の表示前に受信されたチャットメールもチャット画面内に表示させることができる。例えば、自分が最初の発言者でない場合であっても、自端末のチャット画面上には、最初の発言者のメッセージをも表示させることができ、会話内容が分かりやすく表示される。

図６のステップＳ２０１〜Ｓ２０４は、メール受信時の動作の一例を示したフローチャートである。電子メールを受信した場合、まず、メール受信部３ｂがメール記憶部４に受信メールを格納する（ステップＳ２０１）。また、電子メールを受信したことが、メール受信部３ｂからチャット処理部７へ通知される。

このとき、チャットモード中でなければ、メール受信時の処理を終了する（ステップＳ２０２）。一方、動作モードがチャットモード、すなわち、液晶表示画面にチャット画面Ｄ１が表示された状態であれば、チャット処理部７は、受信メールの送信元が登録メンバーであるかを判別し、登録メンバーでなければ処理を終了する（ステップＳ２０３）。

チャットモード中に登録メンバーからの電子メールが受信された場合には、当該電子メールはチャットメールとして、チャット画面Ｄ１に追加される。この様にして、チャット中に登録メンバーから電子メールが受信されると、順次にメッセージが追加されていく。また、チャット画面Ｄ１においてメッセージを入力し、チャットメールとして各登録メンバーに送信した場合には、そのメッセージもチャット画面内に追加される。図７は、この様にしてメッセージが追加された時の様子を示した図である。

本実施の形態によれば、ユーザがメール記憶手段に記憶された電子メールを選択し、その詳細情報をメール閲覧画面に表示させる際、選択された電子メールがチャットメールであることを自動判別して、チャット画面を起動させる。このため、簡単な操作によってチャット画面を起動し、チャットを開始することができる。特に、チャットメールを受信してチャットに参加しようとする際の操作を簡略化することができる。

また、確認画面を表示し、ユーザが同意した場合にチャット画面を表示させるため、ユーザが意図していない場合にまで、チャット画面が表示されることがない。また、登録メンバーからのチャットメールである場合に確認画面を表示しているため、未登録メンバーからのチャットメールを受信した場合に、チャット画面が起動されることがない。

さらに、チャット画面起動の原因となったチャットメールも、チャット画面にチャットメッセージとして表示されるため、最初の発言者によるチャットメッセージもチャット画面に表示することができ、会話中の内容が分かりやすく表示される。

なお、本実施の形態では、メール一覧画面Ｄ２において電子メールを選択する場合に、チャットメールを自動判別し、チャット画面を起動させる場合について説明したが、本発明はこの様な場合に限定されない。すなわち、電子メールの選択操作又は閲覧操作が行われる様々な状況について適用することができる。例えば、電子メールを受信した場合、通常、ユーザにメール受信を知らせる確認画面が表示され、この確認画面において当該受信メールの閲覧を選択することができる。従って、この確認画面において、ユーザが電子メールの閲覧操作を行った場合にチャットメールであるか否かを自動判別し、チャット画面を起動させてもよい。

また、本実施の形態では、確認画面を表示し、チャット画面の起動にユーザが同意した場合にのみチャット画面を表示する例について説明したが、ユーザの意思確認を行うことなく、チャット画面を起動させてもよい。この場合、チャット画面を起動するためのユーザ操作はさらに簡便となる。

実施の形態１では、登録メンバーを送信元とするチャットメールが選択された場合にのみチャット画面を起動する場合の例について説明した。これに対し、本実施の形態では、登録メンバー以外を送信元とするチャットメールが選択された場合には、当該送信元をチャットメンバーに登録して、チャット画面を起動する場合について説明する。
