【0028】
Don=100−ΔD …(1)
ΔD=A(1−B・ΔT) …(2)

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a water-cooled cooling device for an automotive internal combustion engine, and more particularly to a cooling device using an electric water pump and an electronically controlled flow control valve instead of a mechanically driven water pump and thermostat.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Patent Document 1 discloses an electric water pump capable of arbitrarily controlling the number of rotations as a water pump for forcibly circulating cooling water through a water jacket of an internal combustion engine, and a radiator side by an electric thermostat capable of arbitrarily controlling an opening. Discloses a cooling device for an internal combustion engine that controls a flow rate flowing through the internal combustion engine.
[0003]
This cooling device includes a heater circuit for heating the passenger compartment, and is configured such that a part of the cooling water pumped by the electric water pump circulates through the heater core. Then, when the engine is started, if there is a heater request (for example, the heater switch is ON), the heater priority control is performed, and while the circuit on the radiator side and the bypass passage are fully closed, the flow rate of the electric water pump is increased, and the heater core is controlled. A large amount of cooling water is circulated preferentially.
[0004]
Patent Document 2 similarly discloses a cooling device for an internal combustion engine using an electric water pump and an electric thermostat. In this device, when a heater is required, the cooling water temperature becomes higher than a certain target water temperature. Until the electric water pump is stopped until the target water temperature is exceeded, a large amount of cooling water is circulated through the heater circuit by the electric water pump to promote heating performance.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
In the prior art described in Patent Document 1, when there is a heater request, a large amount of cooling water is forcibly circulated through the heater core by the heater priority control regardless of the temperature of the cooling water. Even under conditions where the temperature is lower than the temperature and the heater cannot function as a heater, the electric water pump is driven and the cooling water circulates, so that wasteful power consumption occurs.
[0008]
Further, in the related art described in Patent Literature 2, even when a heater is required, the cooling water does not circulate through the heater core until the cooling water temperature becomes equal to or higher than the target water temperature. .
[0009]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
A cooling device for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention includes a radiator connected to a water jacket of the internal combustion engine through a radiator inlet passage and a radiator outlet passage; an electric water pump disposed in the radiator outlet passage; and a radiator inlet passage. An electronically controlled flow control valve disposed in the radiator outlet passage or the radiator inlet passage to control the flow of cooling water to the radiator; and the water jacket. And a heater circuit provided between the cooling water outlet of the water jacket and the suction side of the electric water pump and provided with a heater core.
[0010]
Further, the present invention further includes a heater inlet side air temperature sensor for detecting a temperature of the heater inlet side air flowing into the heater core.
[0011]
Then, after the cold start, the electric water pump is stopped until the cooling water temperature detected by the water temperature sensor exceeds the heater inlet side air temperature detected by the heater inlet side air temperature sensor. I have.
[0012]
When the cooling water temperature exceeds the heater inlet side air temperature, the driving of the electric water pump is started, and the cooling water circulates in the heater circuit. At this time, preferably, a maximum flow rate operation for driving the electric water pump at the maximum flow rate is started.
[0013]
In other words, in the present invention, the electric water pump is driven by a relative relationship between the temperature of the air in the vehicle compartment to be heated by the heater core, that is, the temperature of the air at the heater inlet side, and the temperature of the cooling water serving as a heating source flowing through the heater core. Driving is controlled. If the cooling water temperature is equal to or lower than the heater inlet air temperature, the air flow cannot be heated even if the cooling water is circulated, and the driving of the electric water pump during that time is useless. In the present invention, such useless driving is avoided. In addition, even if the cooling water temperature is low, if the temperature is relatively higher than the heater inlet side air temperature, a heating action is obtained by circulation of the cooling water, so that the heating performance rises quickly.
[0014]
【The invention's effect】
According to the cooling device for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention, after the internal combustion engine is started, the flow of the cooling water to the heater core is started based on the relative relationship between the air temperature in the vehicle compartment to be heated by the heater core and the temperature of the cooling water. Is determined, the rise of the heating performance can be improved while avoiding unnecessary driving of the electric water pump.

This flow restricting operation is for avoiding overshoot of the heater outlet temperature (heater outlet air temperature Ta-out), and the actual heater outlet air temperature Ta-out and the target heater outlet air temperature Ta1-out. The pump flow rate is changed according to the deviation (temperature difference) from the above, and the pump flow rate is reduced as the deviation decreases.
[0027]
Specifically, the ON duty of the pump drive pulse signal for the flow restricting operation is Don, the maximum ON duty is 100 (%), the value of the duty to be subtracted to reduce the flow rate is ΔD, and the deviation (temperature difference) ) Is ΔT, the ON duty Don during the flow restricting operation is determined as in the following equations (1) and (2) using appropriate coefficients A and B.
[0028]
Don = 100−ΔD (1)
ΔD = A (1−B · ΔT) (2)
As is clear from the above equation, when the deviation ΔT is 0, ΔD becomes maximum, and the ON duty Don becomes minimum. As the deviation ΔT increases, ΔD decreases and the ON duty Don increases. That is, as the deviation ΔT of the heater outlet side air temperature decreases as the cooling water temperature increases, the pump flow rate decreases, and the heater outlet side air temperature Ta-out exceeds the target heater outlet side air temperature Ta1-out. Shooting is suppressed.
[0029]
The following table shows an example of the ON duty Don (expressed as “pump operation DUTY” in the table) during the flow restricting operation obtained by the above equation. The coefficient A is 70, and the coefficient B is 0.1. Here is a numerical example in the case of In the table, the “achieved target outlet temperature” corresponds to the target heater outlet air temperature Ta1-out, and the “actual outlet temperature” corresponds to the heater outlet air temperature Ta-out.

After shifting to the flow restriction operation as described above in step 7, in
[0032]
That is, the heater performance promotion mode ends by the above processing, and heating with a sufficient amount of heat is started early. FIG. 5 is an explanatory diagram showing a switching state of the pump operation based on the heater outlet side air temperature Ta-out (heater blow-out temperature) in the heater performance promotion mode. As shown in FIG. The flow rate maximum operation is performed until the heater outlet side air temperature Ta-out reaches the predetermined temperature Ta2-out, and the flow rate reduction operation is performed from the predetermined temperature Ta2-out to the target heater outlet side air temperature Ta1-out. When the temperature exceeds the target heater outlet-side air temperature Ta1-out, a normal control mode described later is set. FIG. 8 shows how the heater outlet air temperature Ta-out (heater outlet temperature) rises (changes after cold start) in the heater performance promotion mode, and exceeds a predetermined temperature Ta2-out. Up to this point, the temperature rapidly rises due to the maximum pump flow rate operation, and after the temperature exceeds the predetermined temperature Ta2-out, the temperature is gradually increased by shifting to the above-described flow rate reduction operation. Therefore, the overshoot with respect to the target heater outlet air temperature Ta1-out is small. Assuming that the maximum flow rate operation is continued until the temperature reaches the target heater outlet air temperature Ta1-out without shifting to the flow throttle operation, the actual heater outlet air temperature Ta-out becomes large as indicated by a broken line. Overshoot. In this embodiment, by suppressing the overshoot by reducing the pump flow rate as described above, not only the control on the air conditioner side is stabilized, but also the useless work of the

FIG. 6 is an explanatory diagram showing a switching state of the pump operation with respect to the cooling water temperature Tw. As shown in the drawing, at a first set temperature Tw1 or lower, a steady operation is performed with the pump flow being a relatively small predetermined flow. The variable flow rate operation is performed between the first set temperature Tw1 and the second set temperature Tw2. When the temperature is equal to or higher than the second set temperature Tw2, the operation is performed at the maximum flow rate in the overheat prevention mode. As shown in FIG. 6, the first set temperature Tw1 is set to a temperature (for example, 80 ° C.) slightly lower than the final control target water temperature Tw3 (for example, 90 ° C.), and the second set temperature Tw2 is set to a final temperature. The temperature is set to be higher than the control target water temperature Tw3 (for example, 100 ° C.).
