本発明は、冗長記憶システム、方法、コンテンツ格納装置、および冗長情報格納装置に関し、特に複数の記録媒体に格納されているコンテンツの冗長情報を複数の記録媒体によって保持する冗長記憶システム、方法、コンテンツ格納装置、および冗長情報格納装置に関するものである。

【従来の技術】
情報化技術やネットワーク通信技術の発展に伴い、処理される情報量も大幅に増加し、これら情報を記憶する記憶装置に対して大容量化、高速化が必要とされているとともに、その信頼性も要求されている。
このような情報を記憶する記憶装置では、ハードディスク装置などの記録媒体を複数用いて冗長記憶システムを構成することにより、上記要求に対応するものとなっている。

従来、このような冗長記憶システムでは、複数の記録媒体に格納されているコンテンツの冗長情報を複数の記録媒体によって保持する技術として、RAID(Redundant Array of Independent Disks)が用いられている。
RAIDは、複数のハードディスク装置を並べて1台のハードディスク装置のように使用し、コンテンツの信頼性や処理速度を高めるものである。なお、RAIにおけるコンテンツとは、記録媒体に格納されているデータを所定データ長で分割した1または複数のブロックを表す。

コンテンツの信頼性を高めるものとして、2台のハードディスク装置に同じデータを記録するRAID1、コンテンツを記録するハードディスク装置以外に1台または数台のハードディスク装置にエラー訂正用の冗長情報を記録するRAID2,RAID3、およびRAID4等の方式がある。
このほか、コンテンツの信頼性を高めるものとして、例えば、多数の記憶装置のデータをセグメントに分割し、他のセグメントを格納した記憶装置には独立して、かつ、各セグメントを数個の記憶装置の1つにランダムに分散するとともに、1つ以上のセグメントに基づく冗長情報も記憶装置間でランダムに分散することにより、コンテンツの信頼性を高めるものが提案されている(例えば、特許文献1など参照)。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、このような従来の冗長記憶システムでは、1つのコンテンツに対応して生成される冗長情報は1つであるため、このコンテンツが欠損したときに、他の記録媒体に記録されたコンテンツがさらに欠損している場合、欠損したコンテンツが復元できなくなるといった問題があった。
本発明はこのような課題を解決するためのものであり、複数の記録媒体に記録されたコンテンツが欠損した場合でも、欠損したコンテンツを復元することができ、記録されるコンテンツの信頼性を向上させることができる冗長記憶システム、方法、コンテンツ格納装置、および冗長情報格納装置を提供することを目的としている。

【課題を解決するための手段】
このような目的を達成するために、本発明にかかる冗長記憶システムは、通信ネットワークに接続されるとともに、任意のデータの一部または全部からなるコンテンツを記憶するコンテンツ格納手段を有する複数のコンテンツ格納装置と、通信ネットワークを介してコンテンツ格納装置と各種情報をやり取りするとともに、1つまたは複数のコンテンツ格納手段に格納されているコンテンツを符号化して得られた冗長情報を記憶する冗長情報格納手段を有する複数の冗長情報格納装置とからなる冗長記憶システムであって、コンテンツ格納装置に、コンテンツ格納手段に格納されているコンテンツを用いて符号化された冗長情報を格納する1つ以上の冗長情報格納手段を示す冗長リストを記憶する冗長リスト格納手段と、欠損コンテンツを復元する際、当該欠損コンテンツの冗長リストから選択したいずれかの冗長情報格納手段を有する冗長情報格納装置に対して、当該欠損コンテンツの復元に用いる復元情報を要求する復元要求情報を送信する復元要求情報送信手段と、復元要求情報の送信に応じて冗長情報格納装置から得られた復元情報に基づいてコンテンツ格納手段を復旧するコンテンツ復旧手段と、冗長情報格納装置からのコンテンツ要求情報に応じて、コンテンツ格納手段に格納されているコンテンツのうち、コンテンツ要求情報で要求された欠損コンテンツの復元に用いるコンテンツを当該冗長情報格納装置に送信するコンテンツ送信手段とを設けたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
次に、本発明の実施の形態について図面を参照して説明する。
[冗長記憶システムの構成]
まず、図1を参照して、本発明の一実施の形態にかかる冗長記憶システムについて説明する。図1は本発明の一実施の形態にかかる冗長記憶システムの構成を示すブロック図である。
この冗長記憶システム1は、通信ネットワーク50に接続された複数のコンテンツ格納装置10(10A〜10G)と、通信ネットワーク50を介して各コンテンツ格納装置10と接続された複数の冗長情報格納装置20(20A〜20F)を備えている。

例えば、冗長情報格納手段23Aには、コンテンツ格納手段13A,13B,13Cのコンテンツ30A,30B,30Cを符号化して得られた冗長情報40Aが格納されている。
