Description

【0001】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a pneumatic radial tire for icy and snowy roads, and more particularly to a pneumatic radial tire for icy and snowy roads that achieves both braking performance on snow and snow and resistance to uneven wear.
[0002]
[Prior art]
The pneumatic radial tire for snowy and snowy roads is generally provided with a plurality of vertical grooves extending in the tire circumferential direction and a plurality of lateral grooves extending in the tire width direction on the tread surface in order to secure athletic performance on the icy and snowy road surface, A tread pattern in which a number of blocks are formed by the vertical and horizontal grooves is employed. In addition, notches called sipes are provided on the surface of each block in the width direction of the tire to provide an edge effect to maintain braking performance on ice and snow road surfaces.
[0003]
In order to improve braking performance on icy and snowy roads, it is advantageous to open the sipe formed on each block surface in a vertical groove to increase the edge amount, but if the openings are provided unnecessarily, the rigidity of the block decreases. Therefore, there is a problem that so-called heel and toe wear occurs near the opening.
[0004]
In order to solve such a problem, a part of the groove bottom of the lateral groove that divides each block is raised, and the raised part is arranged in a staggered manner in the tire circumferential direction to prevent uneven wear and drainage. There is a proposal that balances both (for example, see Patent Document 1).
[0005]
[Patent Document 1]
JP-A-9-175117 (No. 1-4, FIG. 1-4)
[0006]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in the arrangement of the raised portion of the lateral groove, although the uneven wear resistance has been improved to some extent, a sufficient improvement effect has not yet been obtained, leaving room for further improvement.
[0007]
An object of the present invention is to solve the conventional problems and to provide a pneumatic radial tire for icy and snowy roads that has both braking performance on ice and snow and resistance to uneven wear.
[0008]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The pneumatic radial tire for icy and snowy roads of the present invention for achieving the above object has a plurality of vertical grooves extending in a tire circumferential direction on a tread surface, and a plurality of horizontal grooves extending in a tire width direction. In a pneumatic radial tire for snowy and snowy roads, a large number of blocks are formed by lateral grooves, three or more sipes extending in the tire width direction are provided in each block, and the sipes are opened in vertical grooves that define the blocks. The sipes at the front and rear ends in the tire circumferential direction are opened in the same vertical groove, and the lateral width of the lateral groove that defines the block is 20 to 40% of the block width at the groove bottom on the opening side of the sipes. A raised bottom portion having a depth of 50 to 70% of the groove depth of the vertical groove is formed.
[0009]
In this way, the sipes at the front and rear ends of the block are opened in the same vertical groove, and the bottom raised portion having a specific width and groove depth is formed at the bottom of the horizontal groove on the sipe opening side. The rise of the bottom formed in the lateral groove compensated for the decrease in block rigidity due to the opening, and it was possible to secure the performance on ice and snow while suppressing uneven wear generated on the block surface.
[0010]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the accompanying drawings. In each drawing, the same components are denoted by the same reference numerals, and redundant description will be omitted.
[0011]
FIG. 1 is a plan view showing an example of a tread surface of a pneumatic radial tire for icy and snowy roads according to the present invention. The pneumatic radial tire for icy and snowy roads has a plurality of vertical grooves 2 extending in the tire circumferential direction and a plurality of horizontal grooves 3 extending in the tire width direction on a tread surface 1, and a block 4 is defined by the vertical grooves 2 and the horizontal grooves 3. Is formed.
[0012]
In each block 4, three or more (three in the figure) kerfs 5 are formed in the tire width direction, respectively, as shown in an enlarged view of a part of the tread surface in FIG. The sipes 5a and 5b at the front and rear ends open in the same vertical groove 2, respectively. A bottom raising portion 3a is formed in the groove bottom on the opening side of the sipes 5a and 5b of the lateral groove 3 that divides each block 4 as shown in FIG. Has a shallower groove depth h at the raised portion 3a.
[0013]
The bottom raising portion 3a sets the width Ws of the horizontal groove 3 in the horizontal direction along the longitudinal direction to 20 to 40% of the block width Wo, and sets the groove depth t of the bottom raising portion 3a to the groove depth H of the vertical groove 2. Is set to 50 to 70%. If the width Ws of the bottom raised portion 3a is less than 20% of the block width Wo, the effect of suppressing uneven wear becomes difficult to obtain, and if it exceeds 40%, the braking performance on ice and snow decreases. When the groove depth t of the bottom raised portion 3a is less than 50% of the groove depth H of the longitudinal groove 2, the braking performance on ice and snow is reduced, and when it exceeds 70%, the effect of suppressing uneven wear cannot be sufficiently obtained. In addition, it is difficult to achieve both the braking performance on ice and snow and the uneven wear resistance, which are the objects of the present invention.
[0014]
By forming the raised portion 3a at the groove bottom of the lateral groove 3 on the opening side of the sipes 5a and 5b, the decrease in rigidity at the front and rear ends of the block 4 caused by the formation of the sipes 5a and 5b is compensated for. Prevents uneven wear.
[0015]
The sipe 5 formed in each block 4 of the present invention only needs to stop one end in the block 4 at the front and rear ends of the block 4 and open the other end in the same vertical groove 2. As illustrated in (d) of the tread pattern, the number of other sipes 5 and the positions of the terminals are not particularly limited.
[0016]
【Example】
Examples 1-3, Comparative Examples 1-6
The tire size (195 / 85R16 114 / 112L) and the arrangement of the blocks are the same, and the form of the raised portion 3a of the lateral groove 2 is different from that of the conventional tire (conventional example) in which the raised portion 3a is not formed in the lateral groove 2 as shown in Table 1. Tires of the present invention (Examples 1 to 3) and comparative tires (Comparative Examples 1 to 6). In addition, the depth H of the vertical groove 2 in each tire was set to 13.5 mm.
[0017]
With respect to these 10 types of tires, the braking performance on ice and snow and the uneven wear resistance were evaluated by the following methods, and the best evaluation was set to 100, and the index was shown in Table 1. The numerical value indicates that the larger the value, the better.
[0018]
(Evaluation of braking performance on ice and snow)
Each tire was mounted on a 2D light truck type vehicle, and the braking distance was measured by locking braking at a braking speed of 40 km / h on a snowy road surface, and evaluation was performed based on the results.
[0019]
(Evaluation of uneven wear resistance)
Each tire was mounted on a 2D light truck type vehicle, and after running 3000 km on an asphalt road under a normal load, the amount of heel and toe wear was measured, and the evaluation was based on the results. .
[0020]
[Table 1]
Figure 2004338662
[0021]
As a result, it was confirmed that one of the performances of the conventional example and the comparative example 1 was extremely poor, and that the performances of the examples 1 to 3 were excellent in a well-balanced manner. On the other hand, it was found that Comparative Examples 2 to 6 all lack a balance between the two performances.
[0022]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, the pneumatic radial tire for icy and snowy roads of the present invention opens the sipes at the front and rear ends of the block in the same vertical groove, and has a specific width and groove depth at the groove bottom on the sipe opening side of the horizontal groove. Since the raised portion has the raised portion, the lowering of the rigidity of the block due to the opening of the sipe into the vertical groove compensates for the lowered raised portion formed in the horizontal groove, and the performance on ice and snow can be secured while suppressing uneven wear on the block surface.
