TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for marking the surface of a protective film, a marked protective film, and a structure to which the protective film is attached.
[0002]
[Prior art]
A protective film is adhered to the surface of the polarizing plate used in the liquid crystal display device to protect the surface of the polarizing plate until the liquid crystal cell is assembled.
The polarizing plate has an "axial direction", and a liquid crystal display device that is incorrectly installed does not function as a liquid crystal display device. Therefore, the "axial direction" of the polarizing plate may be marked on the surface of the protective film of the polarizing plate with a stamp or the like. On the protective film surface, for example, the grade name and the pass / fail of the inspection result even when the polarizing plate is used alone, and for the polarizing plate with the wide view film used for TV, etc. Information such as the direction of the film and the front and back sides is used by being printed with a stamp or the like.

Since the polarizing plate is from brown to black-gray, the stamp ink often has a dark color, which is difficult to identify when a light-colored ink is used. In some cases, pigment-based inks are used to improve visibility. For this reason, in the inspection process of the polarizing plate and the inspection process of the liquid crystal cell after the polarizing plate is attached to the liquid crystal cell, it may be difficult or impossible to inspect the portion under the ink.
As the definition of liquid crystal cells increases, the size of each pixel decreases, and therefore, the number of pixels hidden by ink has increased. In addition, liquid crystals have been used for TV applications from PC applications. For PC applications, liquid crystal cells were considered to be good if the number of defects per liquid crystal cell was small, but for TV applications, they must be defect-free. It is becoming.
For this reason, inspection of pixels under the ink printed on the surface of the protective film in order to write information such as a polarizing plate has become indispensable.
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
The present invention provides a marking method that solves the above problems.
[0006]
[Means to solve the problem]
In order to inspect a portion under the marked ink, it is preferable to perform a marking method using a transparent ink that is colored by black light when marking the surface of the protective film attached to the structure. Thus, for example, in the inspection process of a liquid crystal display using a polarizing plate as a structure, the inspection can be easily performed without removing the protective film and without any pixels hidden by the ink. On the other hand, the contents of the marking can be easily read by applying a black light.
[0007]
The protective film is a film adhered to the surface of the structure and protecting the surface. What has an adhesive layer for sticking to a structure on the surface of a substrate film can be used.
Although the substrate film is not particularly limited, for example, a biaxially stretched film such as polypropylene or polyester can be suitably used. The thickness is not particularly limited, but is preferably about 10 to 200 μm.
The pressure-sensitive adhesive in the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is not particularly limited, and for example, any of an acrylic, a synthetic rubber, and a rubber-based pressure-sensitive adhesive can be used. As the pressure-sensitive adhesive, a tackifier, a crosslinking agent, a plasticizer, a filler, an ultraviolet absorber, an antioxidant, a silane coupling agent, and the like can be used. The thickness of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer is not particularly limited, but is usually about 5 to 50 μm.
In the protective film, a release treatment layer can be formed on the surface of the base film opposite to the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer. The material for forming the release treatment layer is not particularly limited, and examples thereof include a silicone release agent and a long-chain alkyl release agent. The thickness of the release treatment layer is not particularly limited, but is usually about 100 nm or less, preferably 10 to 50 nm. The marking is performed on the base film or the release treatment layer. The marking is performed on the base film or the release treatment layer.
[0008]
As the marking ink, a transparent ink that develops color when irradiated with black light (ultraviolet light) is used. Commercially available ink can be used. There is "Magic Lumino Paint" manufactured by Shinloich.
[0009]
The marking method is not particularly limited. For example, you can write on a stamp or hand. Marking can also be performed by an inkjet method. The contents of the marking are not particularly limited, and characters, numerals, symbols, figures, pictures, and the like can be marked. The marking position can be set appropriately. Bar codes can also be marked.
[0010]
The structure is an object to which a protective film is attached. The invention is particularly useful in structures where the surface of the structure beneath the protective film must be inspected. There is a polarizing plate as such a structure. A liquid crystal panel using a polarizing plate is also a structure effective for implementing the marking method of the present invention. The marking method of the present invention can be suitably used for inspection of a liquid crystal display panel in which a polarizing plate protective film is adhered to a liquid crystal panel. Plasma displays are also suitable structures.

【Example】
(Example 1) As an ink used for writing information on a protective film attached to a polarizing plate, "Magic Lumino Paint" manufactured by Shinloich Co., Ltd. was printed using a rubber 25 mm square solid stamp. After the ink was dried, the total light transmittance was measured to confirm the visibility under the ink. The total light transmittance was 90%. The total light transmittance of the protective film alone was 92%. In that state, the surface of the polarizing plate could be visually recognized through the marking ink. When the black light was applied, the ink developed color and its shape could be easily visually recognized.
(Comparative Example 1) Printing was performed in the same manner as in Example 1 except that the ink used was a quick-drying stamp ink (red) manufactured by Shachihata Co., Ltd. The total light transmittance was 42%, and it was difficult to visually recognize the surface of the polarizing plate through the ink.
