Abstract
Description
【0001】

表示デバイス6は、具体的には、CRT(Cathode Ray Tube)、LCD(Liquid Crystal Display)、PDP(Plasma Display Panel)、OEL(Organic Electroluminescence)などである。 ネットワークインタフェース部5は、たとえばアナログモデム、LAN(Local Area Network)、ISDN(Integrated Services Digital Network)、ADSL(Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line)、FTTH(Fiber−To−The−Home) 、Bluetooth、FOMA(W−CDMA)などである。
【0038】
巡回リストにはデータの読込元のURL(Uniform Resource Locator)の一覧が記述されている。

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to an electronic apparatus such as a PDA, a mobile phone, and a television set, an automatic scrolling method, and a program.
[0002]
[Prior art]
If the entire size of the display of data such as a web page exceeds the size of the screen, the entire data cannot be displayed at once. Therefore, scrolling for moving the display position of data on the screen up, down, left, and right is performed by a user's operation of an input operation unit such as a keyboard and a mouse. Such browsing while scrolling the data in the screen by the operation of the user is called “active browsing” in the sense that the user actively performs the scroll operation. There is also a technique for automatically scrolling data within a screen without relying on a user's operation, and browsing data by such automatic scrolling is called "passive browsing".
[0003]
Known techniques relating to automatic scrolling include, for example,

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Electronic devices having an automatic scroll function include a PDA (Personal Digital (Data) Assistants), a mobile phone, and a television set. As this type of electronic apparatus, a mouse that cannot be used as an input device is mainly used. As described above, in an electronic device in which a mouse cannot be used, for example, as a mechanism for selecting an arbitrary portion on data such as a web page displayed on a screen, for example, a link setting portion, an operation such as a cursor key or a jog dial is performed. Accordingly, a method of moving a cursor pointer on data between individual link setting portions has been adopted in many cases.
[0007]
However, the electronic apparatus having such an automatic scroll function has the following problems in operability when shifting from passive scrolling by automatic scrolling to active browsing by cursor operation.
[0008]
That is, the scroll operation and the cursor operation are independent, and even if the display position of the data in the screen is moved by the scroll, the cursor pointer does not move from the position on the data displayed on the screen before the scroll. . For this reason, scrolling is performed until the cursor pointer disappears from the screen, and if an attempt is made to select an arbitrary part on the data displayed on the screen after the scroll, the cursor pointer is not visible in the screen, The selection operation is confusing, and the cursor pointer must be moved by operating the cursor key or the jog dial until the cursor appears on the screen. .
[0009]
In addition, the automatic scrolling process is completed every time when one data is completely scrolled, and when the user wants to browse another data by the automatic scrolling, the user has to select the automatic scrolling of another data again. Was. For example, as a web page in an HTML format using frames, a plurality of links to data to be displayed in another frame may be set in data in one frame. In this case, in order to browse all the data at each link destination by automatic scrolling, it is necessary to repeat the operation of selecting the individual link setting portions by the user in order. Also, when switching frames to be automatically scrolled, the user must perform a frame selection operation.
[0010]
In view of such circumstances, the present invention provides an electronic apparatus and an automatic scrolling method that can promptly shift from passive scrolling by automatic scrolling to active browsing by cursor operation and can improve operability. , And to provide the program.
[0011]
Also, the present invention provides an electronic apparatus and an automatic scrolling method capable of automatically switching data to be automatically scrolled and enabling a quick transition to active browsing by cursor operation in passive browsing over a plurality of data. , And to provide the program.

FIG. 3 is a flowchart showing the overall processing procedure for automatic scrolling by the scroll processing program.
[0045]
As shown in the figure, the scroll processing program stops the timer for generating an automatic scroll interruption if it is running (step 302), and causes the display of data such as a web page to be executed (step 303). ). Thereafter, it is checked whether or not the automatic scroll mode is currently set (step 304). If the automatic scroll mode is set, the timer is started (step 305). If any user control event of “end”, “scroll mode change”, “speed change”, “pause”, or “resume” occurs before the timer interrupt occurs (YES in step 306), the user The control is identified (step 307), and the following processing is performed.
[0046]
When the event of "end" occurs, the end processing of the scroll processing program is performed (step 308). When an event of "scroll mode change" occurs, a scroll mode change process is performed (steps 309-313). If the event of "speed change" occurs, the speed of the automatic scrolling is set (change of the set value of the timer) (step 314). When the "pause" event occurs, the timer is stopped, and a portion of the document being displayed on the screen where a link to another document is inserted (a portion having a link destination) is pointed (step). 315). If an event of "resume" occurs during the pause of the automatic scroll, the timer is started to make the automatic scroll restartable (step 316). Thereafter, the process enters a state of waiting for user control in
[0047]
In the scroll mode change processing in steps 309-313, first, if the timer is running (YES in step 309), the timer is stopped (step 310), and the scroll mode is set (step 311).
[0048]
Types of scroll modes in automatic scrolling include smooth scrolling that scrolls at a constant speed, page scrolling that scrolls in units of display pages as shown in FIG. 4, and scrolling in units of n lines as shown in FIG. Line scrolling.
[0049]
Thereafter, it is confirmed whether or not the automatic scroll mode is currently set (step 312). If the automatic scroll mode is set, a timer is started (step 313). Thereafter, the process enters a state of waiting for user control in
[0050]
FIG. 6 is a flowchart showing the procedure of the automatic scroll process (step 318).
[0051]
After confirming that scrolling has not been completed to the end of the page during automatic scrolling (NO in step 601), the scroll processing program confirms the currently set scroll mode (step 602), and performs smooth scrolling. Control (step 603), page roll-up for page scrolling (step 604), or N-line roll-up for line scrolling (step 605). When the scroll is completed to the end of the page (YES in step 601), the automatic scroll processing ends. This automatic scrolling process is executed one cycle every time a timer interrupt occurs, and is repeated until the user instructs to temporarily stop automatic scrolling.
[0052]
In the automatic scroll processing as described above, the cursor pointer processing program moves the cursor pointer on a page in the screen updated by the automatic scroll in conjunction with the automatic scroll. That is, processing is performed to automatically move the cursor pointer from a position on the data displayed before the start of the automatic scrolling to a position on the data displayed after the automatic scrolling. More specifically, for example, as shown in FIG. 7, after the automatic scrolling, in the

As a method for determining the link setting portion to which the cursor pointer moves after the automatic scrolling, for example, calculating the positions on the screen of all the link setting portions existing in the data displayed on the screen Then, a method of determining the link setting portion to which the cursor pointer is moved can be considered. In addition, a continuous selection command is issued along the locus of the circle around the base point such as the center or the upper left of the screen, and this is repeated while increasing the size of the circle until a response from the web browsing program is performed. Is used as the destination of the cursor pointer using the link setting portion that has returned the first response. If there is no link setting portion in the data displayed on the screen after scrolling, the cursor pointer may be moved to a predetermined position such as the center or upper left of the screen.
[0054]
The link setting portion where the cursor pointer is located after the automatic scrolling is displayed, for example, with its periphery surrounded by a line different from the background color, for example, a contrasting color line. This allows the user to visually recognize the position of the cursor pointer after moving at a glance. Alternatively, the background color and the character color of the link setting portion may be changed and displayed, or may be displayed blinking.
[0055]
Since the cursor pointer is automatically moved on the data displayed on the screen after the automatic scrolling in this way, it is not necessary to move the cursor pointer by a user operation after the automatic scrolling. The operability of the user when shifting to active browsing by operation is greatly improved.
[0056]
Next, an automatic scroll process when browsing a web page having a frame will be described.

The
[0059]
When a new web page is displayed by the web browsing program (YES in step 1001), the scroll processing program analyzes the source of the HTML file that sets the web page (step 1002), and the web page has a frame. It is determined whether the page is a web page (step 1003). That is, as shown in FIG. 9, when the source includes an HTML file including the <frameset> tag, it is determined that the web page is a web page having a frame.
[0060]
If it is determined that the web page has a frame, the HTML source of the file (frame file) defining the frame is analyzed (step 1004). Scroll frame) is selected (step 1005). The automatic scroll frame selection process will be described later in detail. After the selection of the automatic scroll frame, the currently set scroll mode is determined (step 1006), and the scroll processing of the selected automatic scroll frame is executed for one cycle according to the scroll mode (

In the next cycle of the scrolling process by the timer interruption, since the web page has already been displayed, the process shifts from
[0062]
FIG. 11 is a flowchart showing the procedure of the automatic scroll frame selection process in
[0063]
The scroll processing program checks whether or not the target attribute of the <a> tag exists in the HTML source of the frame file (step 1101). If the target attribute does not exist, the main name such as “main” or “body” is included in the frame name. A frame to which a specific name indicating content is given or a frame having the largest display size is set as an automatic scroll frame (step 1102).
[0064]
If the target attribute of the <a> tag exists in the HTML source of the frame file (YES in step 1101), it is determined whether or not a frame name is set as the value of the target attribute (step 1103). If not, a frame with a specific name such as “main” or “body” added to the frame name or a frame with the largest display size is automatically added to the frame name as described above. A scroll frame is set (step 1102). If a frame name is set as the value of the target attribute, the frame specified by the target attribute is set as an automatic scroll frame (step 1104).

FIG. 24 is a flowchart showing a procedure of frame processing in which the above functions are implemented.
[0087]
First, it is determined whether or not the current automatic scroll frame is composed of IFRAME (step 2401). If the frame is composed of IFRAME, it is determined whether or not there is a frame including the current automatic scroll frame (step 2402). If there is no frame containing the current auto-scroll frame, the current auto-scroll frame is a frame (eg,

In addition, the automatic scrolling process described above combines a web patrol program that collects web pages from various websites on the Internet in accordance with a pre-created patrol list, so that web pages between different reading sources can be straddled. Automatic scrolling can be switched.
[0093]
In this case, a web page periodically acquired by the page patrol program may be displayed in an automatic scroll frame and automatically scrolled by the main operation of the page patrol program. Then, a page acquisition request may be made to the page patrol program.
[0094]
For example, as shown in FIG. 25, a scroll completion event is issued to the page patrol program when it is determined in
[0095]
As described above, according to this embodiment, the cursor pointer moves to the data in the screen after the automatic scrolling in conjunction with the automatic scrolling, so that the passive browsing by the automatic scrolling and the active browsing by the cursor operation are performed. The operability of the user at the time of shifting to is greatly improved.
[0096]
Further, according to this embodiment, when displaying a web page having a plurality of frames, a frame suitable for display by automatic scrolling, for example, data displayed in one frame is data displayed in the other frame. Is determined as the frame to be automatically scrolled when the information includes the information of the source of reading, the user does not need to select the frame to be automatically scrolled, and the operability is improved.
[0097]
Further, according to this embodiment, it is possible to automatically scroll by displaying different data sequentially in the automatic scroll frame, and quickly change from passive browsing by automatic scrolling over a plurality of data to active browsing by cursor operation. Can be transferred to. Further, the automatic scrolling frame can be automatically switched, so that it is possible to promptly shift from passive browsing by automatic scrolling over a plurality of frames to active browsing by cursor operation. In addition, the automatically scrolling data object can be extended to various web pages on the Internet.
[0098]
Although the embodiments of the present invention have been described above, the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiments, and it goes without saying that various changes can be made without departing from the spirit of the present invention.
[0099]
For example, the cursor pointer is moved to the link setting part closest to the center of the screen after automatic scrolling or to the link setting part closest to the upper left of the screen. However, the user can determine where to move the cursor pointer after automatic scrolling on the screen. May be set.

In addition, the
[0101]
In addition, although the description has been given mainly of the process of automatically scrolling a web page, the present invention can be applied to various data such as data of a menu screen for selecting a function for automatic scrolling. A plurality of objects that can be selected by the user are arranged on the menu, and the cursor pointer moves between the objects. By automatically moving the cursor pointer to the object arranged on the menu in the screen updated by the automatic scroll, the operability of the user to select an object, that is, to select a function can be improved.
[0102]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, it is possible to promptly shift from passive browsing by automatic scrolling to active browsing by cursor operation, thereby improving operability.
