Description

【0001】

Figure 2004303692
【0015】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a connector that is a shield terminal for a coaxial cable, and more particularly, to a connector for a coaxial cable having improved transmission characteristics of the coaxial cable.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, as shown in FIGS. 4A and 4B, the coaxial cable connector 10 is a metal conductor as a whole, and is a cable outer crimping portion 10a for caulking and holding the outer cover 11a of the coaxial cable 11. A cable braided wire crimping portion 10b for crimping the exposed braided wire 11b of the coaxial cable, and an insulator for inserting and holding the center contact 12 attached to the core wire 11c of the coaxial cable 11 at the center. 10d is generally constituted by a connector main body 10c holding the outer conductor 10d by an external conductor 10f. The cable braided wire crimping portion 10b and the outer conductor 10f of the connector body 10c are integrally connected by a relay portion 10e.
[0003]
When using the coaxial cable connector 10, the coaxial cable 11 is obtained by peeling the outer sheath 11a, peeling off the braided wire 11b and the insulator 11d, exposing the core wire 11c, and attaching the center contact 12 to the connector. A cable crimping portion 10a and a cable braided wire crimping portion 10b which are inserted into a main body 10c and caulked are known (for example, see Patent Document 1).
[0004]
[Patent Document 1]
JP-A-11-273798 (pages 2 to 4, FIGS. 1 to 3)
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, in consideration of the transmission characteristics of the coaxial cable 11 by the coaxial cable connector 10, the entire periphery of the cable outer crimping portion 10a and the cable braided wire crimping portion 10b is shielded by being surrounded by a metal conductor. On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 4B, in the portion of the relay portion 10e, as shown in FIG. 4C, only about 1/4 to 1/5 of the entire circumference Not shielded and the rest is open.
[0006]
Therefore, the presence of the relay portion 10e that is not entirely covered with the metal conductor prevents the electric field between the signal and the ground from converging satisfactorily, causing disturbance in characteristic impedance and leakage of the electric field (radio wave). In addition, there is a problem that the return current is also concentrated on one side of the relay unit 10e, thereby adversely affecting transmission characteristics such as VSWR (Voltage Standing Wave Ratio) and insertion loss. The coaxial cable connector according to the present invention has been proposed to solve such a problem.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above problems, a gist of a connector for a coaxial cable according to the present invention includes a connector body in which a core exposed at an end of the coaxial cable is held, and a braided wire crimping for crimping a braided wire of the coaxial cable. A connector, and a sheath crimping portion for caulking the outer sheath of the coaxial cable, wherein a connector is provided between the connector main body and the braided wire crimping portion, and a relay portion for coupling the two, and the connector That is, a shield extension extending from the main body side is provided.
[0008]
The shield extension portion is disposed substantially symmetrically with respect to the relay portion and the axis, and is extended so as to be superimposable with the braided wire crimping portion. When tightening, it includes that the shield extension is also swaged together with the braided wire.
[0009]
According to the connector for a coaxial cable according to the present invention, between the connector body and the braided wire crimping portion, the two conductors of the extended portion for shielding and the relay portion are disposed, and the circumferential direction in this portion is The proportion of the opening decreases, and the portion surrounded by the conductor (external conductor) increases, and the shielding effect increases. Also, the shield extension is swaged together with the braided wire, so that the convergence of the electric field and the flow of the return current are well-balanced, the disturbance of the characteristic impedance is improved, and the leakage of the electric field (radio wave) is reduced. Further, the shield extension is swaged, and the mechanical strength is increased.
[0010]

Next, the coaxial cable connector 1 according to the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings. Portions corresponding to the conventional example will be described with the same reference numerals as in the conventional example for easy understanding. As shown in FIG. 1, the coaxial cable connector 1 includes a cylindrical connector main body 1c at an end of the coaxial cable 11 where an insulating material 11d is peeled off and an exposed core 11c is held. The braided wire crimping portion 1b for crimping the braided wire 11b and the outer skin crimping portion 1a for caulking the outer sheath 11a of the coaxial cable 11 are connected.
[0011]
The connector body 1c contains a cylindrical insulator 1d, and the insulator 1d is provided with a through hole 1g for inserting a center contact along the axis.
And, between the connector main body 1c and the braided wire crimping portion 1b, a relay portion 1e for connecting the two and a shielding extension portion 1h extending from the connector main body 1c side are arranged. I have.
[0012]
As shown in FIG. 1 (C), the shield extending portion 1h is disposed substantially symmetrically with respect to the relay portion 1e about the axis, and is overlapped with the braided wire crimping portion 1b. There is a thin neck portion 1i approaching the center, and it is bent substantially horizontally from there, and the overlapping portion is processed into an arc shape and extended. When the braided wire 11b is crimped by the braided wire crimping portion 1b, as shown in FIG. 1B, the shield extension 1h is also crimped together with the braided wire 11b.
[0013]
An embodiment of such a coaxial cable connector 1 is shown in FIGS. When the coaxial cable connectors 2 and 3 are used, the coaxial cable 11 with the outer skin 11a peeled off, the braided wire 11b and the insulator 11d peeled off to expose the core wire 11c, and the central contact 12 is attached. It is inserted into the connector main bodies 2c, 3c, and the cable sheath crimping parts 2a, 3a and the cable braided wire crimping parts 2b, 3b are crimped, and the respective shield extension parts 2h, 3h are also crimped together with the braided wire 11b. .
[0014]
When the VSWR was measured as the transmission characteristics of the connectors 2 and 3 for the coaxial cable 11, the results shown in Table 1 below were obtained.
[Table 1]
Figure 2004303692
[0015]
