Abstract
Description
【0001】

【0060】
図3に示すように、ITU−T勧告 T.30のファクシミリ通信手順は、フェーズA(呼の確立)、フェーズB(プリメッセージ手順)、フェーズC(メッセージ伝送)、フェーズD(ポストメッセージ手順)、フェーズE(呼の解放)から成る。
【0061】
(Dial

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a facsimile apparatus connected to an IP network and a public network and a control method therefor, and more particularly, to a facsimile apparatus when a call destination from a public network is determined to have communication capability via the IP network. The present invention relates to a control for notifying a user or the like of the communication capability of the other party and a control for notifying the calling side of the communication capability of the own device via the IP network when receiving a call from the public network.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Some facsimile apparatuses are connected to both an IP network and a public telephone network, and can perform facsimile (FAX) communication via an IP network or a public network.
[0003]
In the operation of this type of facsimile machine, on the transmitting side, in order to know that the other party is capable of receiving a fax via the IP network, the fax receiving capability (IP- For example, there is a method of confirming whether or not there is a facsimile reception capability and whether or not there is an IP network connection by, for example, a telephone.
[0004]
This confirmation requires time and effort to make a telephone call, but if the confirmation is neglected, the advantage of reducing the communication cost through the IP network cannot be enjoyed.
[0005]
Also, some conventional facsimile machines of this type include, for example, as described in Patent Documents 1 and 2 below, when an IP-FAX reception capability of a partner machine is determined in a FAX protocol after a call is made, Some communication via the network automatically changed the setting.
[0006]
However, in these conventional devices, the setting is changed via the IP network and the call is re-established without confirming whether or not the other party has correctly set the necessary settings for FAX reception via the IP network. If not completed, there is a high risk that a communication trouble will occur.
[0007]
Further, in this type of facsimile apparatus, when an incoming call is received, a facsimile apparatus that unconditionally notifies the calling side of the IP-FAX receiving capability of the own apparatus while executing a facsimile protocol with the calling side. It was a target.
[0008]
In such a conventional facsimile apparatus, for example, even when there is an incoming call to a representative facsimile number that is disclosed to an unspecified number of people, the fact that there is IP-FAX reception capability and the Internet address are notified, so that direct mail ( The destination information of the FAX communication via the IP network is known to the DM) traders and the like, and there is a danger that a large amount of DM or the like is sent via the IP network without burden on the transmitting side.

It is necessary to check the presence or absence of a fax, and there is a problem that it is difficult to shift to FAX transmission via an IP network with a small communication cost.
[0010]
In addition, if the FAX receiving capability via the IP network of the partner terminal is found during the FAX protocol execution after the call is made, the conventional device that automatically changes the setting to the communication via the IP network can receive the fax via the IP network of the partner terminal. Since the setting is changed and the call is made again irrespective of the setting status, there is a problem that there is a high possibility that a communication trouble will occur depending on the setting status of the partner terminal.
[0011]
In addition, when a call is received, a conventional device that unconditionally notifies the calling device of its own device's FAX receiving capability via the IP network and destination information via the IP network in the FAX protocol with the calling device is unacceptable. The destination information of the FAX communication via the IP network is known through the incoming call to the representative FAX number etc. which is disclosed to a specific large number, and as a result, a large amount of DM etc. is sent by the transmission via the IP network without the cost burden on the calling side. There was also a problem that there was a danger of being injured.
[0012]

An object of the present invention is to provide a facsimile apparatus capable of efficiently switching to facsimile transmission via an IP network and a control method therefor.
[0013]
Another object of the present invention is not to set a state in which a partner terminal can receive a fax via an IP network after a call is made from a public network and the partner terminal has a capability of receiving a fax via the IP network. It is an object of the present invention to provide a facsimile apparatus and a control method therefor that can avoid communication troubles such as the inability to perform fax transmission via an IP network due to the above reasons.
[0014]
Further, another object of the present invention is to prevent leakage of destination information of FAX communication via the IP network on the called side to a DM company or the like through an incoming call to a representative FAX number or the like disclosed to an unspecified majority. It is another object of the present invention to provide a facsimile apparatus and a control method therefor that can avoid the danger of sending a DM or the like by using a FAX transmission function via an IP network without burdening the transmission side.

[0221]
As described in the first to ninth embodiments, according to the facsimile apparatus of the present invention, during operation as a calling side, a procedure signal transmitted from a partner terminal after calling via a public network is established. On the other party terminal based on T. When it is determined that there is a possibility of receiving IPFAX reception capability, this fact is notified. 38 It is possible to easily know from the above notification that IP FAX reception is possible, and to check the FAX transmission method via the IP network only for the applicable destination, to enable FAX transmission via the IP network with low communication cost burden. You can migrate very efficiently.
[0222]
As the above-mentioned notification control method, a method of displaying the content of notification (that the other terminal can receive T.38 IPFAX, or destination information of the other terminal in the IP network, or both) on the apparatus main body display unit (first and second methods) Sixth to ninth embodiments), a method of transmitting an e-mail containing the above-mentioned notification contents to a pre-registered destination (second embodiment), storing the above-mentioned notification contents and the destination number of the partner terminal, When an outgoing call instruction is issued to the partner terminal, a method of displaying the notification content on the display unit of the apparatus body (third embodiment), the facsimile reception capability via the IP network is provided to the partner terminal in association with the destination number of the partner terminal. There is a method (fourth and fifth embodiments) of displaying or recording a communication management report and a transmission report to which information indicating the presence is added on the display unit of the apparatus main body.

As described in the tenth to fourteenth embodiments, according to the facsimile apparatus of the present invention, at the time of operation as a called side, at the time of an incoming call, various parameter setting states necessary for performing IP-FAX reception (Tenth Embodiment) An abnormal operation of various peripheral devices such as an in-
[0307]
According to such a configuration, even if the called party has "T.38 IP-FAX reception capability", T.38 is set as the communication / setting environment. If an environment suitable for 38IP-FAX reception is not established, "T.38IP-FAX reception capability lack" is notified to the calling side.
[0308]
Thus, for example, when the IP-FAX reception parameter is not set (the tenth embodiment), when the operation of various peripheral devices for the IP-FAX reception is abnormal (the eleventh embodiment), the IP network connection method is always set. When there is no connection environment (the twelfth embodiment) or the like, "T.38 IP-FAX is not received" is notified to the calling side, and as a result, the calling side transmits to the called side via the IP network in the environment. Communication troubles, such as making a call and making communication impossible, can be avoided.
[0309]
When a call is received to a destination number for which notification of the IP network FAX reception capability is not set (the thirteenth embodiment), a call is received to a port number for which notification of the IP network FAX reception capability is not set. At the time of a call (the fourteenth embodiment), even if the called party has "T.38 IP-FAX receiving capability", "T.38 IP-FAX receiving capability available" is not notified.
[0310]
Thus, for example, the representative FAX number or the like is set in advance so as not to notify the “T.38 IP-FAX reception capability”, so that the DM company or the like can perform DM communication without burdening communication costs via the IP network. The risk of being sent out can be prevented.
[0311]
The present invention is not limited to the embodiment described above and shown in the drawings, but can be implemented by appropriately modifying it without departing from the scope of the invention.
[0312]
For example, in the above embodiment, an example of a facsimile apparatus is given as an example of a communication terminal apparatus. However, the present invention is not limited to the facsimile apparatus. The present invention can be applied to all communication terminal devices connected to both the public network and the
[0313]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, after a call is made via a public network, based on a procedure signal sent from a partner terminal, it is determined whether or not the partner terminal has facsimile reception capability via the IP network. If the destination terminal has a facsimile reception capability via the IP network, the fact is notified so that the transmitting side can easily determine from the above-described notification that the destination terminal can receive a fax via the IP network. By knowing and confirming the facsimile transmission method via the IP network only to the corresponding destination, it is possible to extremely efficiently shift to the facsimile transmission via the IP network with a low communication cost burden.
[0314]
Further, according to the present invention, for example, after a call is made via a public network using a simplified dial such as a speed dial, the destination terminal has facsimile reception capability via an IP network and destination information via an IP network is added. If it is determined that the destination terminal information is used, a call is made via the IP network using the destination information to confirm that the terminal has been correctly connected to the destination terminal, and then the destination terminal is notified that facsimile reception via the IP network is possible. As a result, the destination information of the partner terminal via the IP network can be accurately conveyed to the transmitting user. Thereafter, when the fax transmission via the IP network is performed by using the destination information, the partner terminal transmits via the IP network. It is possible to avoid a communication trouble such as a failure to perform FAX transmission via the IP network due to a reason that FAX reception is not set.
[0315]
Also, at this time, when the terminal is correctly connected via the IP network to the partner terminal, the destination information stored in the simple dial is rewritten from the previous destination number via the public network to the destination number via the IP network. In addition, it is possible to prevent the registered contents of the simple dial on the transmitting side from being erroneously rewritten, and this is also useful for avoiding a communication trouble at the time of facsimile transmission from the transmitting side via the IP network.
[0316]
Furthermore, according to the present invention, the setting of its own device, including the parameter setting status necessary for facsimile reception via the IP network, and the operating environment are monitored, and when an incoming call is received via the public network, according to the monitoring result, Since it is controlled whether or not to notify the calling terminal of the facsimile reception capability via the IP network of the own terminal, for example, the facsimile reception capability via the IP network is notified for each destination number (called number, port, etc.). Is set as a target and the destination number of the incoming call is monitored, so that the call can be made to a specific destination number (such as a representative FAX number that is disclosed to an unspecified majority). It is possible to prevent the destination information of the fax communication via the IP network on the called side from leaking to the DM company or the like.
[0317]
In this case, for example, it is possible to set, for each specific destination number, whether the facsimile communication destination information via the IP network is made public or non-public, and more fine-grained information management is performed depending on the purpose of use of the destination number. Becomes possible.
