この発明は、例えば自動車に搭載されるバンパーなどの衝撃緩衝装置に関し、特に配索されたハーネスを安価に保護し、少ないコストで作製することができる衝撃緩衝装置に関する。

【従来の技術】
衝撃緩衝装置として、例えば自動車に搭載されるバンパー100は、図2(a)に示すような構造からなる。即ち、カバー部としてのバンパーフェイス101と、リインフォースメント102と、これらバンパーフェイス101とリインフォースメント102との間に配設されるアブソーバ103とから構成される。このバンパー100に電気配線のためのハーネス104を配索する場合、例えばバンパーフェイス101に形成された穴付きの取付リブ105に、コルゲートチューブなどの保護材106を取り付けたうえで取付クリップ107にテープ108で固定したハーネス104を、取付クリップ107を取付リブ105の穴に嵌め込むことにより固定して配索している(例えば、特許文献1参照。)。

このような構造のバンパー100では、同図(b)に示すように、例えばバンパー100に衝撃が加わりバンパーフェイス101及びアブソーバ103が変形した場合、バンパーフェイス101に配索されたハーネス104がリインフォースメント102のエッジ部102aと干渉することがあるため、ハーネス104の断線等を防ぐ意味でも保護材106の装着は欠かせないものとなる。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
しかしながら、バンパー100にハーネス104を配索する場合、ハーネス104に必ず保護材106を装着して配索しなければならないため、バンパー100全体の部品点数が増えると共に部品コストも上昇して安価にパンバー100を構成することが難しくなってしまうという問題がある。

この発明は、このような問題点に鑑みてなされたもので、ハーネスの保護材が不要で安価に作製することができる衝撃緩衝装置を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
この発明に係る衝撃緩衝装置は、カバー部と、このカバー部の背面側に取り付けられるハーネスと、前記カバー部の背面側に配置される衝撃緩衝部材と、前記カバー部及び衝撃緩衝部材を支持する支持部材とから構成される衝撃緩衝装置であって、前記衝撃緩衝部材は、少なくとも前記カバー部に取り付けられたハーネスと前記支持部材との間に一部が配置される形状で形成され、前記カバー部と前記支持部材との間に介装されて前記支持部材に取り付けられてなることを特徴とする。

この発明によれば、カバー部に取り付けられたハーネスと支持部材との間に衝撃緩衝部材が少なくとも一部が配置される形状で形成され、カバー部と支持部材との間に介装されて支持部材に取り付けられているため、例えば衝撃緩衝装置に衝撃が加わりカバー部が変形した場合でも、ハーネスが支持部材のエッジ部に当接して断線等することが無くなり、ハーネスを保護するためのコルゲートチューブ等の保護材が不要となる。このため、衝撃緩衝装置を構成する部品点数及び部品コストを削減することができる。

なお、ハーネスは、カバー部の背面側に形成されたリブ状のハーネス取付部に取付クリップを介して取り付けられるものであることが好ましい。

また、ハーネスは、導体が絶縁被覆により覆われた複数の電線を束ねてテープで結束した構造からなるワイヤハーネス、又は複数の導体が絶縁被覆により覆われて平面状に並設された構造からなるフラットハーネスであることが好ましい。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、添付の図面を参照して、この発明の好ましい実施の形態を説明する。
図1は、この発明の一実施形態に係る衝撃緩衝装置の構造を示す一部断面図である。
図1(a)に示すように、例えば衝撃緩衝装置としての自動車に搭載されるバンパー1は、カバー部としてのバンパーフェイス2と、このバンパーフェイス2に取り付けられるハーネスとしてのワイヤハーネス3と、バンパーフェイス2の背面側に配置される衝撃緩衝部材としてのアブソーバ4と、このアブソーバ4が取り付けられると共にバンパーフェイス2及びアブソーバ4を支持する支持部材としてのリインフォースメント5とから構成されている。例えば、このバンパー1を構成するバンパーフェイス2は樹脂成型部材からなり、アブソーバ4はウレタンや発泡ポリプロピレンからなり、リインフォースメント5は自動車のフレーム等と同じような金属部材からなる。また、ワイヤハーネス3は、導体6が絶縁被覆7により覆われた複数の電線を結束テープ8で束ねて一本の線状に構成した構造からなる。

ワイヤハーネス3の所定位置は、取付クリップ13の台座部14に取付テープ15で巻き付けられて固定されている。一方、バンパーフェイス2の背面側所定位置(この例では、上部位置)には、ハーネス取付部としての取付穴11を有するリブ12が形成されている。ワイヤハーネス3に取り付けられた取付クリップ13には、取付穴11からの抜けを防止するためのアンカー部16が備えられている。

アブソーバ4は、前端部4aがバンパーフェイス2の背面部2bと当接すると共に、後端側に形成された凹部4bがリインフォースメント5と当接するように配置されている。リインフォースメント5のエッジ部5aのうち、少なくともワイヤハーネス3に一番近いエッジ部5aには、アブソーバ4の上部側の延出部4cが覆い被さるような状態で、アブソーバ4はリインフォースメント5に取り付けられている。即ち、アブソーバ4は、ワイヤハーネス3とリインフォースメント5との間にアブソーバ4の一部(延出部4c)が配置される形状で形成されている。なお、この例ではアブソーバ4の下部側の延出部4cもリインフォースメント5のエッジ部5aを覆うような状態となっており、リインフォースメント5の前端側のエッジ部5aが直接バンパーフェイス2と当接しない構造となっている。また、リインフォースメント5は、この例では角にエッジ部5aを有する矩形断面状の中空金属構造からなる。

このように構成されたバンパー1では、同図(b)に示すように、バンパーフェイス2の正面部2a側から衝撃が加えられた場合、アブソーバ4が変形してその衝撃を和らげると共に、アブソーバ4の延出部4cがワイヤハーネス3とリインフォースメント5のエッジ部5aとの間に介在して衝撃を緩衝するため、リインフォースメント5のエッジ部5aでバンパーフェイス2の取付リブ12に取り付けられたワイヤハーネス3を傷つけ、断線等を引き起こすることがなくなる。これにより、ワイヤハーネス3を保護するためのコルゲートチューブ等の保護材を装着しなくてもワイヤハーネス3の断線等を防止することができる。このため、バンパー1を構成する部品点数を削減して部品コストを抑えることが可能となる。

なお、この例では衝撃緩衝装置として自動車のバンパー1にハーネスとしてのワイヤハーネス3を取り付けたものを用いて説明したが、例えばハーネスとして複数の導体6が絶縁被覆7により覆われて平面状に並設された構造からなるフラットハーネスを取り付けたものであっても良い。また、自動車のバンパー1以外の衝撃緩衝装置で上記構成を実現するようにしても良い。

【発明の効果】
以上述べたように、この発明によれば、カバー部に取り付けられたハーネスと支持部材との間に衝撃緩衝部材が少なくとも一部が配置される形状で形成され、カバー部と支持部材との間に介装されて支持部材に取り付けられているため、例えば衝撃緩衝装置に衝撃が加わりカバー部が変形した場合でも、ハーネスが支持部材のエッジ部に当接して断線等することが無くなり、ハーネスを保護するためのコルゲートチューブ等の保護材が不要となる。このため、衝撃緩衝装置を構成する部品点数及び部品コストを削減することができるという効果を奏する。
