TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for producing a (meth) acrylate. The term (meth) acrylate used in the present invention is used to mean an acrylate, a methacrylate or both.
[0002]
[Prior art]
(Meth) acrylic acid esters are extremely important as monomers for synthesizing polymers that can be used as various industrial materials. Polymers are widely used in photosensitive materials, optical materials, organic glasses, adhesives, etc. because of their excellent light / thermosetting properties, light resistance, and optical properties. In addition, a polymer obtained by copolymerizing a methacrylic acid ester with another monomer is used as a reactive component and a rubber modifier as a cross-linking material for paints, adhesives, films and the like.
[0003]
As a typical industrial production method of such a (meth) acrylate, there is a reaction between an alcohol and a carboxylic acid using sulfuric acid or an organic sulfonic acid as a catalyst. This method is inefficient, such as a decrease in yield due to side reactions and a complicated purification operation. Further, there is a disadvantage that the working environment is easily polluted by wastewater treatment or the like, which causes environmental pollution. Therefore, a method for producing a high-purity (meth) acrylate ester that can be obtained by a simple method has been desired.
[0004]
On the other hand, instead of the synthesis method using sulfuric acid or organic sulfonic acid as a catalyst, an ester synthesis method using lipase has been widely studied. It is said that in the ester synthesis reaction using lipase, when acrylic acid is used as a reaction substrate, an ester cannot be obtained. Therefore, Patent Document 1 proposes a method for producing a (meth) acrylic acid ester by using an acrylic acid ester-producing bacterium, but the alcohol that can be used as a raw material is limited to a linear alcohol having 1 to 8 carbon atoms. Patent Document 2 reports that the lipase is used for the production by transesterification between an alcohol and a (meth) acrylic acid ester, but the alcohol used as a substrate is limited to glycerin and glycerin derivatives, and has 12 to 22 carbon atoms. The reaction rate is low and unreacted substances are generated. Further, Non-Patent Document 1 reports that it is possible to produce an acrylate ester in a nonpolar solvent using immobilized lipase, but this method has a reaction inhibitory effect of aldehyde as a by-product. When the carbon number of the alcohol as the substrate is 8 or more, the reaction rate is remarkably reduced, and it is difficult to use an alcohol having a higher carbon number as the substrate. Further, even when the number of carbon atoms is 8 or less, the conversion is up to about 66%.

[Problems to be solved by the invention]
An object of the present invention is to provide a method for producing a (meth) acrylic acid ester easily and with high purity and high yield.
[0007]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
The present invention is a method for producing a (meth) acrylic ester, which comprises subjecting an alcohol and vinyl (meth) acrylate to an ester synthesis reaction in a polar organic solvent in the presence of lipase. Further, the present invention is the above-mentioned method for producing a (meth) acrylic ester, wherein the alcohol is a primary or secondary monohydric alcohol or polyhydric alcohol.
[0008]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, the present invention will be described in detail.
In the production method of the present invention, vinyl (meth) acrylate and alcohol are subjected to a so-called transesterification reaction to obtain a (meth) acrylate of the alcohol. As the alcohol used in the present invention, a primary or secondary alcohol is selected. In addition, although an alcohol having one or more hydroxyl groups can be used, 1 to 5 is preferable.
[0009]
The lipase used in the present invention is selected from bacteria. As a source of lipase, Alcaligenes. sp. , Candida cylindracea nov. sp. , Aspergillus niger, Mucor javanicus. And the like. Various lipases used in the present invention are commercially available, and in the present invention, these commercially available products can be used as they are. The lipase used for the reaction can be used as long as it has an ester synthesis ability and a transesterification ability. Specific examples include lipase QL, lipase QLM (manufactured by Meito Sangyo), and Kirazyme L-2, cf, c2, lyo (manufactured by Roche Diagnostics). The lipase may be any of powder or those immobilized on a known carrier. The lipase used can be repeatedly used by washing and drying.
[0010]
As the organic solvent used in the present invention, a polar solvent is particularly selected. Thereby, the inhibition of the reaction of acetaldehyde, which is a by-product, can be suppressed, and the desired (meth) acrylate can be obtained in high yield. Examples of such a solvent include ether solvents such as isopropyl ether, diethyl ether and t-butyl methyl ether, and tertiary alcohol solvents such as t-butyl alcohol. It is desirable that the polar organic solvent dissolves the alcohol of the substrate and dissolves vinyl (meth) acrylate.
[0011]
In practicing the present invention, an alcohol serving as a substrate is placed in a reaction vessel, and an organic solvent is further added to make a mixed solution. The concentration of the alcohol in the mixture is adjusted to be about 0.04 to 0.4 mol / liter (this concentration range has the highest reactivity). Next, 1 to 2 equivalents of vinyl methacrylate are added to the obtained mixture with respect to hydroxyl group 1, and lipase is further added so as to be about 5 to 50% by weight with respect to alcohol. The methacrylic acid esterification reaction is performed by mixing the mixed solution to which the lipase has been added and stirring the mixture at room temperature. The reaction time is usually from 3 hours to 20 days, but it is also possible to shorten the reaction time by changing the reaction temperature, the amount of lipase, the solvent and the like.
[0012]
The reaction system for carrying out the present invention can be any system such as a batch system or a continuous system through a column.
[0013]
After completion of the reaction, the reaction mixture is usually in a state in which only lipase is suspended. Therefore, the lipase is removed by filtration, and the filtrate is concentrated to obtain the desired product in high purity and high yield. It is possible.
