本発明は、パーソナルコンピュータとプリンタがネットワークで接続された印刷システム、プリンタドライバ及び記憶媒体に関するものである。

パーソナルコンピュータとプリンタがネットワークで接続された印刷システムが普及し、１つのプリンタを複数のユーザーで共有することが多くなってきている。このような背景から機密印刷機能を搭載したものが種種提案されている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
機密印刷に際し、文字や数字からなるパスワードが印刷データと共にパーソナルコンピュータから送られてきた場合、プリンタ側でその文字や数字を入力することになるが、一般的にプリンタにはキーが少なく、文字や数字を入力するには面倒な操作をしなければならないという不具合がある。
本発明は、機密印刷に際し、プリンタ側の簡単な操作でユーザー認証を行うことができる印刷システム、プリンタドライバ及び記憶媒体を提供することを目的とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
上記目的を達成するために、請求項１記載の発明は、パーソナルコンピュータとプリンタがネットワークで接続された印刷システムにおいて、パーソナルコンピュータのプリンタドライバは、プリンタ操作の組み合わせをデータ化し、パスワードとして印刷データと共にプリンタに送信する機能を有する印刷システムを最も主要な特徴とする。
請求項２記載の発明は、請求項１記載の印刷システムにおいて、プリンタは、ユーザーによる操作の組み合わせがプリンタドライバから送信されたプリンタ操作の組み合わせと同じか否か判断し、同じ場合印刷を実行する機能を有する印刷システムを主要な特徴とする。
請求項３記載の発明は、パーソナルコンピュータとプリンタがネットワークで接続された印刷システムにおけるパーソナルコンピュータのプリンタドライバであって、プリンタ操作の組み合わせをデータ化し、パスワードとして印刷データと共にプリンタに送信する機能を有するプリンタドライバを最も主要な特徴とする。
請求項４記載の発明は、請求項３記載のプリンタドライバプログラムが格納されたパーソナルコンピュータ読み取り可能な記憶媒体を最も主要な特徴とする。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、図面により本発明の実施の形態を詳細に説明する。
図１は印刷システムにおけるパスワードの内容を示す説明図である。本印刷システムは、パーソナルコンピュータ１とプリンタ２がネットワーク３で接続されることで構築されている。
そして、パーソナルコンピュータ１のプリンタドライバは、プリンタ操作の組み合わせをデータ化し、パスワードとして印刷データと共にプリンタ２に送信する機能を有する。
またプリンタ２は、ユーザーによる操作の組み合わせがプリンタドライバから送信されたプリンタ操作の組み合わせと同じか否か判断し、同じ場合印刷を実行する機能を有する。
図１に示すように、パーソナルコンピュータ１のプリンタドライバは、第２カセット開閉１回、第１カセット開閉２回、第２カセット開閉３回という手順で操作の組み合わせをデータ化する。プリンタ２でユーザーがその通りの操作をすれば、機密印刷が実行される。ユーザーが設定された通りの操作をしなければ、機密印刷は実行されない。

以上説明したように、本発明によれば、パーソナルコンピュータとプリンタがネットワークで接続された印刷システムにおいて、パーソナルコンピュータのプリンタドライバは、プリンタ操作の組み合わせをデータ化し、パスワードとして印刷データと共にプリンタに送信する機能を有し、プリンタは、ユーザーによる操作の組み合わせがプリンタドライバから送信されたプリンタ操作の組み合わせと同じか否か判断し、同じ場合印刷を実行する機能を有するので、機密印刷に際し、プリンタ側の簡単な操作でユーザー認証を行うことができる。またプリンタドライバプログラムが格納されたパーソナルコンピュータ読み取り可能な記憶媒体により、プリンタドライバに上記の機能を容易に持たせることができる。
