[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Under such circumstances, the problem to be solved by the present invention is a method for producing propylene oxide by reacting propylene with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a titanosilicate catalyst and a nitrile compound solvent, wherein the reaction temperature rises due to heat generation. And to provide a method for producing propylene oxide, which has an excellent feature that it can be carried out stably at a high yield.
[0005]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
That is, the present invention is a method for producing propylene oxide by reacting propylene with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a titanosilicate catalyst and a nitrile compound solvent, and has the following features (1) to (3). The present invention relates to a method for producing propylene oxide.
(1) The reactor is divided into at least n sections and used (here, n is an integer of 2 or more).
(2) feeding fresh propylene to the first reactor; (3) feeding effluent reactant from the outlet of the n-th reactor to the (n + 1) -th reactor.
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a method for producing propylene oxide by reacting propylene with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a titanosilicate catalyst and a nitrile compound solvent.
[0007]
The titanosilicate catalyst used in the present invention is a crystalline titanosilicate having a zeolite structure. Representative titanosilicate zeolites include TS-1 having an MFI structure, TS-2 having a MEL structure, Ti-ZSM-12 having an MTW structure, and a BEA structure according to IZA (International Zeolite Society) structural code. Known are Ti-β, Ti-MWW having an MWW structure, Ti-UTD-1 having a DON structure, and the like. In the present invention, a crystalline titanosilicate having a large pore of 12 or more oxygen rings is preferable. As crystalline titanosilicates having large pores of 12 or more oxygen rings, Ti-ZSM-12, Ti-β, Ti-MWW, Ti-UTD-1 and the like are known. Among them, a Ti-MWW catalyst can be particularly preferably used.
[0008]
The titanosilicate catalyst used in the present invention is used in the form of a powder or a molded product depending on the reaction system.
[0009]
The present invention is carried out in the presence of a nitrile compound solvent. Examples of the nitrile compound include acetonitrile, propionitrile, butyronitrile, benzonitrile and the like. Of these, acetonitrile is particularly preferred.
[0010]
The nitrile compound solvent is a solvent containing a nitrile compound, and may contain a compound other than the nitrile compound as long as the effects of the present invention are not impaired. Compounds other than the nitrile compound contained in the nitrile compound solvent include inorganic compounds such as water, alcohols, ketone compounds, ether compounds, ester compounds, hydrocarbons, halogenated hydrocarbons, amide compounds, and organic compounds such as glycol compounds. can give.
[0011]
The production method of the present invention has the following features (1) to (3).
(1) The reactor is divided into at least n sections and used (here, n is an integer of 2 or more).
(2) feeding fresh propylene to the first reactor (3) feeding the effluent reactant from the outlet of the n-th reactor to the (n + 1) -th reactor
The feature (1) is that the reactor is divided into at least n sections and used. Here, n is an integer of 2 or more, and is usually 2 to 20. As a method for dividing the reaction heat, a method using n independent reactors, a method for dividing one reactor into a plurality of reaction zones, and the like can be mentioned. The partitioned reactors may be the same or different in the type or amount of catalyst.
[0013]
The feature (2) is to supply fresh propylene to the first reactor. Fresh propylene means propylene supplied from outside the system formed by the present invention. It is preferable that the whole amount of fresh propylene is supplied to the first reactor, but a part of the fresh propylene may be supplied to other than the first reactor within a range that does not impair the effects of the present invention. It may be supplied divided into locations.
[0014]
The feature (3) is to supply the effluent from the outlet of the n-th reactor to the (n + 1) -th reactor. That is, the effluent reactants from the outlet of the reactor pass sequentially through the multistage reactor in series. Note that a part of the effluent from the outlet of the n-th reactor may be recycled to the inlet of the n-th reactor within a range that does not impair the effects of the present invention. This is effective in preventing a rise in temperature due to reaction heat in the reactor.
[0015]
Examples of the method for supplying hydrogen peroxide used in the present invention include a method for supplying hydrogen peroxide water produced in advance, and a method for synthesizing and supplying hydrogen peroxide in a system from hydrogen and oxygen. In the case of supplying the hydrogen peroxide solution, the whole amount can be supplied to the first reactor, or the hydrogen peroxide solution can be divided and supplied to a plurality of reactors. It is preferable to supply the hydrogen peroxide solution prepared in advance to a plurality of reactors in a divided manner, because the temperature rise due to reaction heat in the reactors can be suppressed. When hydrogen peroxide is synthesized and supplied from hydrogen and oxygen in a system, it is preferable to supply the hydrogen peroxide to a plurality of reactors because the temperature rise due to reaction heat in the reactor can be suppressed.
[0016]
In general, in the case of a reaction that generates heat, the reaction temperature may be increased more than necessary, a side reaction may proceed, or the yield may decrease due to the sequential reaction of the target product. is important.
[0017]
The present invention, by combining the above features, suppresses an increase in the reaction temperature due to the heat generated by the reaction and realizes an effect that the reaction can be stably carried out at a high yield. That is, it is possible to suppress a decrease in the propylene oxide yield due to the heat generated by the reaction between hydrogen peroxide and propylene. Causes of the decrease in yield include a decrease in activity due to thermal degradation of the catalyst, a shortened catalyst life, and a degradation due to successive reactions of propylene oxide.
[0018]
In general, the reaction amount is adjusted by controlling the inlet temperature of the reactor or by forcibly removing heat from the outside. Due to the time delay, it is difficult to accurately set a reaction temperature according to the activity of the catalyst. As in the present invention, the temperature rise due to the reaction heat can be controlled by dividing the reactor, so that it is possible to prevent a decrease in the activity of the catalyst or a decrease in the yield due to a rapid increase in the temperature of the catalyst layer. It becomes. In the present invention, it is also preferable to provide a heat removal facility such as a heat exchanger between the reactors. This makes it easier to control the temperature of each reactor.
[0019]
The reaction temperature of the epoxidation reaction according to the present invention can be carried out at 0 to 150 ° C, preferably 20 to 100 ° C. In the present invention, the temperature rise in each of the divided reactors is suppressed to 50 ° C or lower, preferably 30 ° C or lower, more preferably 10 ° C or lower. The reaction pressure is 0.1 to 20 MPa, preferably 0.3 to 10 MPa. The molar ratio of propylene and hydrogen peroxide fed is 1 to 200 times, preferably 1.1 to 100 times. Usually, unreacted propylene is recycled after separation and purification and used as an epoxidation reaction raw material.
[0020]
Examples of the reaction method of the present invention include a fixed bed flow reaction system and a slurry reaction system.
[0021]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, according to the present invention, a method for producing propylene oxide by reacting propylene with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a titanosilicate catalyst and a nitrile compound solvent, which suppresses an increase in the reaction temperature due to heat generation and is stable. Thus, it was possible to provide a method for producing propylene oxide, which has an excellent feature that it can be carried out with high yield.
