Mg[N(CF3SO2)2]2の導電率は、Mg(CF3SO3)2の導電率の10倍程度である。
【0023】
さらにまた、Mg(CH3SO3)2、Mg(C6F5SO3)2、Mg(C6H5SO3)2なども同様に安全性が高い。
【0028】
【0041】

TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a non-aqueous electrolyte battery.
[0002]
[Prior art]
Conventionally, non-aqueous electrolyte secondary batteries that use a non-aqueous electrolyte as a high energy density secondary battery and perform charging and discharging by moving lithium ions between a positive electrode and a negative electrode have been actively researched. Has been done.
[0003]
2. Description of the Related Art In recent years, batteries using lithium ions as an ion conductive medium have been proposed as batteries used in portable electronic and communication devices such as small video cameras, mobile phones, and notebook personal computers. These include an alloy or a carbon material capable of occluding and releasing lithium ions, a silicon material, or the like as a negative electrode active material, and are formed of layered lithium cobaltate (LiCoO 2 ), lithium nickelate (LiNiO 2 ), or spinel lithium manganate. A lithium transition metal composite oxide such as (LiMn 2 O 4 ) is used as a positive electrode active material, and an electrolyte comprising a lithium salt such as LiBF 4 or LiPF 6 is dissolved in an organic solvent such as ethylene carbonate or diethyl carbonate. These non-aqueous electrolyte batteries are typified by lithium-ion batteries using, and are expected to be practically used as small, lightweight, high-capacity, chargeable / dischargeable batteries.
[0004]
Further, a battery using a negative electrode made of an alkali metal such as lithium or sodium and a nonaqueous electrolyte using carbon fluoride as a positive electrode active material has also been proposed (see Patent Document 1).
[0005]
On the other hand, from the viewpoint of energy density, studies are being made on using an alkaline earth metal such as magnesium or calcium or a light metal such as aluminum as a negative electrode active material.
[0006]
When magnesium ions are used instead of lithium ions as the ion-conducting medium, there are advantages in that the number of reactive electrons is large and inexpensive, and that they are stable and excellent in safety.
[0007]
Magnesium has a low standard electrode potential of -2.375 V (vsNHE), is lightweight, and is inexpensive, easy to handle, and abundant in resources compared to lithium. Excellent material.
[0008]
Battery using magnesium for the negative electrode, Mg-MnO 2 battery as a battery for aqueous systems, Mg water-activated cell, include Mg- air battery, there are advantages such as long-term storage is good with low cost. However, they are hardly used at present because their storage characteristics deteriorate remarkably once they begin to be used, and the battery voltage is low and high capacity cannot be expected.
[0009]
On the other hand, a non-aqueous magnesium battery, which can be expected to have a high voltage, has a problem that magnesium dissolution occurs relatively easily, but precipitation of magnesium is difficult, so that it is difficult to form a secondary battery.
[0010]
The reason why precipitation of magnesium is difficult in such a non-aqueous solvent is that a film is formed on the surface of magnesium by a reaction between magnesium and the electrolytic solution. This coating passes monovalent ions such as Li but does not pass divalent ions such as Mg. For this reason, magnesium cannot be precipitated.
[0011]
Further, in order to perform reversible charging and discharging of a nonaqueous magnesium battery, an example using a Grignard reagent has been proposed (see Non-Patent Document 1). The Grignard reagent contains an ether-based solvent, but is not a salt but an organometallic compound, and has a risk of explosion.
[0012]
[Patent Document 1]
JP-B-48-25666 [Non-Patent Document 1]
Prototype system for rechargeable magnesium batteries: Aurbach. Nature 407 (2000) 724
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Although batteries using magnesium as an active material have been proposed, conventional nonaqueous electrolyte batteries use magnesium perchlorate or Grignard reagent as an electrolyte, and therefore have high reactivity and oxygen. Easily occur, and there is a problem in safety.
[0013]
The present invention has been made in view of the above circumstances, and has as its object to provide a non-aqueous electrolyte battery with high capacity and high safety.
[0014]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
Therefore, a nonaqueous electrolyte battery of the present invention includes a nonaqueous electrolyte containing an ether-based solvent and a magnesium salt, a positive electrode using Mg as an active material, and a negative electrode using Mg as an active material. .
[0015]
According to such a configuration, by using the ether-based solvent, the coating formed on the magnesium surface by the reaction between the magnesium and the electrolytic solution can transmit magnesium ions, and thus can be easily occluded and deposited. . Therefore, a battery using magnesium with high capacity and high safety can be provided.
[0016]
The ether solvent preferably contains a chain ether.
In addition, it is desirable to use dimethoxyethane (DME) as the chain ether, and the use of DME allows magnesium ions to easily permeate and facilitate precipitation, thereby obtaining a high-capacity nonaqueous electrolyte secondary battery. it can.
[0017]
In addition to dimethoxyethane, diethoxymethane, ethoxymethoxyethane and the like and chain ethers are also effective.
[0018]
In addition to chain ethers, cyclic ethers such as tetrahydrofuran and dioxolan are also effective.
[0019]
The magnesium salt preferably contains at least one of an imide salt and a sulfonate.
[0020]
Since imide salts or sulfonates are more stable than magnesium perchlorate and emit less oxygen, they are highly safe as electrolytes, providing highly safe and high capacity non-aqueous electrolyte batteries. It is possible to do.
[0021]
Further, as the imide salt, an alkylsulfonylimide salt is desirable.
Alkylsulfonylimide salts are more readily available because of their ease of synthesis,
[0022]
As the alkylsulfonylimide salt, bis (trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imidomagnesium Mg [N (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 ] 2 is desirable. When this is used as an electrolyte, the conductivity is high, the output is high, and the power is high. It is possible to provide a battery having a capacity. The conductivity of Mg [N (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 ] 2 is about 10 times that of Mg (CF 3 SO 3 ) 2 .
[0023]
Further, it is desirable that the sulfonate is an alkyl sulfonate.
[0024]
Further, as the alkyl sulfonate, magnesium trifluoromethanesulfonate Mg (CF 3 SO 3 ) 2 is desirable, and it is easy to synthesize and it is possible to provide a battery with high output and high capacity.
[0025]
Suitable imide salts which are effectively used herein, there is alkylsulfonylimide magnesium Mg [N (C x F 2x + 1 SO 2) 2] 2 x = 1~8, easily synthesized Among these, especially x = 1, 2 Easy.
[0026]
For example, the alkylsulfonylimide salts of magnesium include Mg [N (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 ] 2 , Mg [N (C 2 F 5 SO 2 ) 2 ] 2 , Mg [(C 4 F 9 SO 2 ) (CF 3 SO 2 ) N] 2 , Mg [(C 6 F 5 SO 2 ) (CF 3 SO 2 ) N] 2 , Mg [(C 8 F 17 SO 2 ) (CF 3 SO 2 ) N] 2 , Selected from Mg [N (CF 3 CH 2 OSO 2 ) 2 ] 2 , Mg [N (CF 3 CF 2 CH 2 OSO 2 ) 2 ] 2 , and Mg [N ((CF 3 ) 2 CHOSO 2 ) 2 ] 2. It is desirable to include at least one of these.
[0027]
The In addition, as the sulfonate, Mg [(C x F 2x + 1 SO 3) there are 2 x = 1 to 8, it is easy easy to synthesize those inter alia x = 1, 2.
As the sulfonate, one containing magnesium trifluoromethanesulfonate Mg (CF 3 SO 3 ) 2 is particularly preferred because of its high safety, but other than that, Mg (C 4 F 9 SO 3 ) 2 and Mg (C 6 It is desirable to include at least one selected from F 5 SO 3 ) 2 and Mg (C 8 F 17 SO 3 ) 2 .
Furthermore, Mg (CH 3 SO 3 ) 2 , Mg (C 6 F 5 SO 3 ) 2 , Mg (C 6 H 5 SO 3 ) 2 and the like also have high safety.
[0028]
Here, the imide salt or the sulfonate may be used alone or in combination of two or more. The magnesium salt is used after being dissolved in an ether solvent at a concentration of 0.1 to 1.5M, preferably 0.5 to 1.5M.
By using this concentration, a stable and high-capacity battery can be provided from the experimental results.
[0029]
Here, the electrolyte can be used as a solid electrolyte or an electrolyte solution obtained by dissolving an electrolyte salt in an organic solvent or the like.
[0030]
As described above, a chain ether is preferable as the ether organic solvent used in the nonaqueous electrolyte (electrolyte solution).
As the chain ether, 1,2-dimethoxyethane, diethyl ether, dipropyl ether, diisopropyl ether, dibutyl ether, dihexyl ether, ethyl vinyl ether, butyl vinyl ether, methyl phenyl ether, ethyl phenyl ether, butyl phenyl ether, pentyl phenyl ether Methoxytoluene, benzylethyl ether, diphenyl ether, dibenzyl ether, o-dimethoxybenzene, 1,2-diethoxyethane, 1,2-dibutoxyethane, diethylene glycol dimethyl ether, diethylene glycol diethyl ether, diethylene glycol dibutyl ether, dimethoxymethane, , 1-diethoxyethane, triethylene glycol dimethyl ether, tetraethylene glycol It may be at least one selected from dimethyl ether. A mixed solvent obtained by mixing two or more of these is also effective.
[0031]
Further, the positive electrode or the negative electrode preferably contains any one of magnesium metal, magnesium alloy, magnesium oxide, silicon, carbon, fluorocarbon, and sulfide of a transition metal.
[0032]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the drawings.
In this example, a non-aqueous electrolyte formed by dissolving bis (trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imide magnesium Mg [N (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 ] 2 in dimethoxyethane, and a positive electrode and a negative electrode using magnesium as an active material A non-aqueous electrolyte battery is produced using the battery.
[0033]
(Example 1)
1. Preparation of positive electrode A magnesium metal plate was cut into a predetermined size to obtain a positive electrode (a positive electrode using magnesium as an active material) as a working electrode made of magnesium metal.
[0034]
2. Similarly to the production of the negative electrode, the magnesium metal plate was cut into a predetermined size to obtain a negative electrode (a negative electrode using magnesium as an active material) as a counter electrode made of magnesium metal.
On the other hand, a lithium metal plate was cut into a predetermined size to prepare a reference electrode made of lithium metal.
[0035]
3. Preparation of Electrolyte Solution A non-aqueous electrolyte was prepared by dissolving bis (trifluoromethylsulfonyl) imidomagnesium Mg [N (CF 3 SO 2 ) 2 ] 2 in dimethoxyethane at a concentration of 0.5 mol / l.
[0036]
4. Preparation of a test cell A lead was attached to the positive electrode produced as described above, and was used as the positive electrode 12a as the working electrode. A lead was attached to the negative electrode produced as described above, and the negative electrode 11 was used as the counter electrode. A lead was attached to the prepared reference electrode to form a reference electrode 13, and the nonaqueous electrolyte 14 was injected into the test cell container 10 to form a test cell as shown in FIG. Reference numeral 15 denotes a separator.
[0037]
5. Test The test cell fabricated as described above was charged at a constant current for 1 hour at a room temperature in a charging current at a current density of 0.1 mA / cm 2 .
FIG. 2 shows the charging characteristics at this time. From this charging curve, Mg dissolution occurred at around 0.63 V (Li / Li + ) at the working electrode.
[0038]
On the other hand, at the counter electrode, precipitation of Mg occurred around 0.61 V (Li / Li + ).
From this result, the use of the electrolyte containing dimethoxyethane facilitated the dissolution and precipitation of magnesium.
[0039]
(Comparative example)
A cell was assembled in the same manner as in Example 1 except that γ-butyrolactone was used instead of dimethoxyethane as the electrolytic solution. The same measurement as in the above example was performed using this cell.
The result is shown in FIG. Mg at the working electrode was dissolved at around 2.7 V (Li / Li + ). On the other hand, at the counter electrode, magnesium did not precipitate, so that the potential was not constant and gradually decreased.
[0040]
Thus, in many non-aqueous solvents, dissolution of magnesium occurred, but no precipitation occurred.
[0041]
【The invention's effect】
