TECHNICAL FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates to a piezoelectric paste, and more particularly to a piezoelectric paste that is advantageously used for forming a piezoelectric film provided as a thick film in a piezoelectric component such as a piezoelectric actuator, a vibrator, and a pressure sensor. .
[0002]
The present invention also relates to a piezoelectric film formed by using the above-described piezoelectric paste and a piezoelectric component including the piezoelectric film.
[0003]
[Prior art]
Strength has a dielectric and a high perovskite oxide having piezoelectric properties, Pb (Zr 1-x Ti x) O 3 based ceramic, that is, PZT ceramic crystals are known. When such a PZT crystal is used for a piezoelectric component such as a piezoelectric actuator, a vibrator, or a pressure sensor, the piezoelectric film may be in a state of a thick film. For the formation of the piezoelectric film, the PZT crystal is prepared in the form of a powder, and a glass powder and an organic vehicle are added thereto to form a piezoelectric paste. The piezoelectric paste is formed so that a thick film is formed by the piezoelectric paste. Is applied and baked (for example, see Patent Document 1).

[Patent Document 1]
JP 2001-2469 A (“Prior art”)
[0005]
[Problems to be solved by the invention]
Since the sintering temperature between PZT crystal particles exceeds 1000 ° C., evaporation of lead in the firing step cannot be ignored, and it is desired to lower the sintering temperature as much as possible. For this reason, glass having a low softening point (for example, 500 ° C. or less) that generates a viscous flow during the firing step is used as the glass powder added to the piezoelectric paste, and the glass is made to function as a sintering aid. Have been.
[0006]
However, when the low softening point glass as described above is contained in the piezoelectric paste, the piezoelectric film after firing has a state in which the low dielectric constant glass phase covers the periphery of the PZT crystal particles, and the piezoelectric film itself has The problem that ferroelectricity deteriorates arises.
[0007]
Therefore, the polarizability of the piezoelectric film formed by the above-mentioned thick film forming technique is reduced, and as a result, the problem that the piezoelectric characteristics are deteriorated is caused.
[0008]
Therefore, an object of the present invention is to form a piezoelectric film that retains the ferroelectricity of a piezoelectric crystal such as a PZT ceramic crystal and thus does not cause a decrease in polarization and can obtain high piezoelectricity. It is an object of the present invention to provide a piezoelectric paste that can be used.
[0009]
Another object of the present invention is to provide a piezoelectric film formed using the above-mentioned piezoelectric paste and a piezoelectric component provided with the piezoelectric film.
[0010]
[Means for Solving the Problems]
In order to solve the above technical problem, a piezoelectric paste according to the present invention is characterized by containing a Pb-based piezoelectric crystal powder, an organic vehicle, and lead 2-ethylhexanoate.
[0011]
The present invention is also directed to a piezoelectric film obtained by applying the above-mentioned piezoelectric paste according to the present invention and baking the same.
[0012]
In the piezoelectric film according to the present invention, preferably, the above-mentioned firing temperature is selected in the range of 730 ° C to 1000 ° C.
[0013]
Further, the piezoelectric film according to the present invention is formed by applying the piezoelectric paste according to the present invention, drying the applied paste, applying a pressure treatment at a pressure of 10 7 Pa or more in the film thickness direction, and then applying It is preferably obtained by firing.
[0014]
The present invention further includes an insulating substrate, a lower electrode formed on the insulating substrate, a piezoelectric film formed on the lower electrode, and an upper electrode formed on the piezoelectric film. It is also applied to piezoelectric parts. In such a piezoelectric component, the piezoelectric film is provided by the piezoelectric film according to the present invention.
[0015]
BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
As described above, the piezoelectric paste according to the present invention contains a Pb-based piezoelectric crystal powder, an organic vehicle, and lead 2-ethylhexanoate. Lead 2-ethylhexanoate is in a liquid state and can be uniformly dispersed in the piezoelectric paste. In order to evaluate the action of lead 2-ethylhexanoate, the shrinkage onset temperature of each of the piezoelectric paste containing lead 2-ethylhexanoate and the piezoelectric paste not containing this was determined by thermomechanical analysis (TMA). Upon measurement, a result as shown in FIG. 1 was obtained.
[0016]
Referring to FIG. 1, the piezoelectric paste containing lead 2-ethylhexanoate has a lower shrinkage onset temperature than the piezoelectric paste not containing this. This indicates that the liquid phase sintering proceeds due to the presence of lead 2-ethylhexanoate, which functions as a sintering aid.
[0017]
Further, the product after calcination of lead 2-ethylhexanoate is a component of a Pb-based piezoelectric crystal powder, and is baked when a glass having a low softening point of, for example, 500 ° C. or less is contained in the piezoelectric paste. A phenomenon that occurs in a later piezoelectric film, for example, that a PZT crystal particle is covered with a low-permittivity glass phase and that the ferroelectricity and piezoelectricity of the piezoelectric film itself deteriorate, cannot occur.
[0018]
Note that, in order to produce a piezoelectric film, a piezoelectric paste is applied and baked. However, in order to improve the sinterability of the piezoelectric film, the piezoelectric paste is applied and dried. Thereafter, it is desirable to apply a pressure treatment at a pressure of 10 7 Pa or more in the film thickness direction, and then to bake this.
[0019]
In the production of the piezoelectric film, the firing temperature is desirably selected from the range of 730 ° C. to 1000 ° C. in order to reduce the evaporation of lead during firing and more reliably prevent poor sintering.
[0020]
Next, a description will be given of an experimental example performed for evaluating the piezoelectric paste, the piezoelectric film, and the piezoelectric component according to the present invention.
[0021]
(Example)
As the Pb-based piezoelectric crystal powder contained in the piezoelectric paste, a powder of 85 mol% Pb (Zr, Ti) -15 mol% Pb (Zn 1/3 Nb 2/3 ) O 3 was used. A mixture of an ethyl cellulose-based binder and an organic solvent (diethylene glycol monobutyl ether) was used as the organic vehicle. In addition, lead 2-ethylhexanoate was prepared.
[0022]
Next, the above-described Pb-based piezoelectric crystal powder, the organic vehicle, and lead 2-ethylhexanoate were weighed so that the weight ratio was 100: 13: 1, and these were weighed in a state where an organic solvent was added thereto. After sufficient mixing, the viscosity was adjusted to produce a piezoelectric paste according to the example.
[0023]
FIG. 2 is a diagram illustrating a cross-sectional structure of a piezoelectric component including a piezoelectric film formed using the above-described piezoelectric paste.
[0024]
As shown in FIG. 2, the piezoelectric component 1 includes an insulating substrate 2, a lower electrode 3 formed on a main surface of the insulating substrate 2 facing upward, and a piezoelectric film formed on the lower electrode 3. 4 and an upper electrode 5 formed on the piezoelectric film 4. A back surface electrode 6 is formed on the main surface of the insulating substrate 2 facing downward, and the back surface electrode 6 and the lower layer electrode 3 are electrically connected to each other by an end surface electrode 7 formed on an end surface of the insulating substrate 2. ing.
[0025]
In this experimental example, in order to fabricate the piezoelectric component 1 as shown in FIG. 2, first, a lower electrode 3 made of Pt and a back electrode made of Pt were formed on an insulating substrate 2 made of ZrO 2 by sputtering. 6 were formed respectively.
[0026]
Next, the piezoelectric paste according to the above-described example was applied on the lower electrode 3 by screen printing. Next, after drying the piezoelectric paste film at a temperature of 150 ° C., a pressure treatment was performed at a pressure of 2 × 10 7 Pa in the film thickness direction. Next, the piezoelectric material film 4 was formed by firing the piezoelectric material paste film at a temperature of 950 ° C.
[0027]
Next, an upper electrode 5 made of Pt was formed on the piezoelectric film 4 by using a sputtering method. Then, the end face electrode 7 was formed by applying a paste containing Ag and then curing the paste at a temperature of 150 ° C.
[0028]
(Comparative Example 1)
Piezoelectric paste was prepared in the same manner as in the example, except that glass having a low softening point of 500 ° C. or less was used instead of lead 2-ethylhexanoate in the example. Then, a piezoelectric film and a piezoelectric component were produced.
[0029]
(Comparative Example 2)
In producing the piezoelectric paste, a piezoelectric paste, a piezoelectric film, and a piezoelectric component were produced in the same manner as in the example, except that lead 2-ethylhexanoate was not used.
[0030]
(Evaluation)
The dielectric properties and the piezoelectric properties of the piezoelectric components according to the example and the comparative examples 1 and 2 obtained as described above were evaluated. The results are shown in Table 1.
[0031]
[Table 1]
[0032]
As can be seen from Table 1, it can be seen that, in the examples, those having higher relative dielectric constants and piezoelectric constants are obtained as compared with comparative examples 1 and 2.
[0033]
【The invention's effect】
As described above, since the piezoelectric paste according to the present invention contains lead 2-ethylhexanoate, when forming a piezoelectric film using the piezoelectric paste, a firing step is performed. Liquid phase sintering proceeds due to the presence of lead 2-ethylhexanoate, which functions as a sintering aid.
[0034]
Therefore, it is possible to form the piezoelectric film by firing at a relatively low temperature of, for example, 1000 ° C. or less. Further, as in the case where a low melting point glass is contained in a piezoelectric paste, for example, the periphery of a PZT crystal particle is covered with a low dielectric constant glass phase, and the ferroelectricity and piezoelectricity of the piezoelectric film itself deteriorate. The above problem can be avoided, and a piezoelectric component having excellent dielectric characteristics and piezoelectric characteristics can be obtained.
[0035]
When the sintering temperature is selected in the range of 730 ° C. to 1000 ° C. in obtaining the piezoelectric film according to the present invention, evaporation of lead contained in the Pb-based piezoelectric crystal powder in the piezoelectric paste is reduced, and poor sintering is achieved. Can be reliably prevented.
[0036]
In addition, in obtaining a piezoelectric film according to the present invention, a piezoelectric paste is applied, dried, and then subjected to a pressure treatment at a pressure of 10 7 Pa or more in a film thickness direction. The sinterability of the film can be improved.
