Abstract
Description
【0001】
無線機器Aはホームサーバであり、伝送可能な情報種別はHD(High Definition)、SD(Standerd Definition)規格のMPEGストリームおよびTCP/IPなどのPCアプリケーションプロトコルである。
A−B、A−C、A−D、A−Eが存在する。
A−B、A−C、A−D、A−Eが存在する。
A−B、A−C、A−D、A−Eが存在する。

BEST MODE FOR CARRYING OUT THE INVENTION
Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described with reference to the drawings.

FIG. 1 is a block diagram showing a schematic configuration of a relay device according to an example of the present invention. As shown in FIG. 1, the relay device includes a destination receiving

For example, assume that five relay devices (wireless devices A to E) exist in a home in a topology as shown in FIG. An example in which transmission information is transmitted from the wireless device A to the wireless device D under the following transmission conditions will be described. That is, it is assumed that the transmission request rate is 25 Mbps, the allowable error rate is 0.1, the allowable delay time is 100 usec, the allowable jitter is 10 usec, and the type of the transmission information is the MPEG stream of the HD standard.

The wireless device D is input to the destination receiving

The transmission device information shown in FIG. 3 is stored in the transmission device

The relay path
[0020]
Here, a case will be described in which the wireless device A acquires relay route information on the wireless device B. First, the wireless device A communicates with the wireless device B, acquires information on the current transmission rate, delay time, and jitter, and stores the information in the relay route
[0021]
Next, the wireless device A gives the wireless device B the destination receiving device information and the transmission information type, and requests the wireless device B for relay route information to the wireless device D. First, the wireless device B requested for the relay path information returns the maximum transmission rate and the type of transmittable information stored in the transmission device
[0022]
In this example, since the wireless devices A and B are both 54 Mbps, the maximum transfer rate between the relay routes A and B is 54 Mbps. Since both the wireless devices A and B support the HD, SD standard and PC, the types of transmittable information between the relay routes A and B are HD, SD, and PC.
[0023]
Next, the wireless device B acquires information on a route from the wireless device B to the wireless device D. The wireless device B communicates with the wireless devices C, D, and E, and obtains information on the current transmission rate, delay time, and jitter. Since the transmittable information type of the wireless device C is only HD and SD, the transmittable information type between the wireless devices B and C is only HD and SD. Hereinafter, the relay route information shown in FIG. 4 can be obtained by the same method.

As shown in FIG. 8, the transmission device information shown in FIG. 3 is obtained in advance (ST101). That is, the transmission device information is stored in the transmission device
[0030]
As described above, according to the present invention, the information type (transmittable information shown in FIG. 3) that can be handled by each wireless device is stored in advance, the destination of the transmission information is acquired, and the type of the transmission information is changed. A relay route that can acquire and transmit the transmission information to the destination is selected. Further, based on the transmission conditions (current transmission rate, error rate, delay time, jitter) of the relay path information shown in FIG. 4, the relay path under the optimum conditions is selected (narrowed down). This enables efficient transmission according to the type of transmission information.

As shown in FIG. 9, the transmission device information shown in FIG. 3 is obtained in advance (ST201). That is, the transmission device information is stored in the transmission device
[0044]
If the transmission of the transmission information has not been completed (ST208, NO), the transmission condition is reacquired by the relay route
[0045]
As described above, according to the present invention, the relay route information for selecting the relay route is acquired at regular time intervals, and when the content of the relay route information changes, the optimum relay route is updated. Thereby, even when the communication quality in each relay path changes frequently, the optimum relay path can be always selected.

Next, a third example of the relay processing by the relay device shown in FIG. 1 will be described.

It is assumed that the relay

First, a route starting from the wireless device A is searched. The routes starting from the wireless device A include AB, AC, AD, and AE. First, considering the wireless devices A to E, it is clear from FIG. 3 that the wireless device E cannot transmit the MPEG stream of the HD standard. Therefore, this route is excluded. Next, considering the wireless devices A and B, it is clear from the information of the
[0054]
Next, since the route between the wireless devices A and C is selected as the relay route, a route to the wireless device D by relaying the wireless device C starting from the wireless device A is searched. For this purpose, first, a route starting from the wireless device C is searched. Routes starting from the wireless device C include CB and CD. Here, CA in the direction away from the wireless device D as the destination receiving device is excluded. First, considering the wireless devices A-C-B, the route information of the route number R1 in FIG. 7 can be obtained from the information of the route number 2 in FIG. 6 and the information of the

Finally, since a path between the wireless devices A and C and B is selected as a relay route, a route to the wireless device D is searched by relaying the wireless device C and the wireless device B starting from the wireless device A. In this case, there is only a route ACBD that leads to the destination receiving device. Here, information on the path number R3 in FIG. 7 is obtained from the information on the path number R1 in FIG. 7 and the information on the

On the other hand, in the case of the wireless device B, for example, since ABCD is given as the selected relay route information at the time T1, the wireless device B transmits the stream received from the wireless device A to the wireless device C. [0058]
As described above, in the present invention, a transmission rate for selecting a relay path is acquired at regular time intervals, and when a rapid change in the transmission rate is detected, the optimum relay path is updated. Compared with the case where all information included in the relay path information is acquired at regular time intervals, only the transmission rate is acquired at regular time intervals, so that the communication band is not compressed. Moreover, even when the communication quality of each relay path changes frequently, the optimum relay path can be always selected.

Next, a fourth example of the relay process by the relay device shown in FIG. 1 will be described.

[0063]
For example, assume that five relay devices (wireless devices A to E) exist in a home in a topology as shown in FIG. An example in which transmission information is transmitted from the wireless device A to the wireless device D under the following transmission conditions will be described. That is, it is assumed that the transmission request rate is 25 Mbps, the allowable error rate is 0.1, the allowable delay time is 100 usec, the allowable jitter is 15 usec, and the type of the transmission information is an MPEG stream of the HD standard. Under this transmission condition, a relay route is obtained based on the relay route information shown in FIG. 4 by the method described in the first example. At this time, two routes, a route number R2 and a route number R3 shown in FIG. 5, are searched for as a route satisfying the transmission request. The current transmission rate is the same for both the path numbers R2 and R3, and the path number R2 is superior to the
[0064]
In wireless communication, when a relay device is used to prevent interference, a method of changing a transmission / reception frequency of the relay device or switching transmission / reception in a time-division manner is used. However, there is a problem that communication efficiency is reduced by such a method. In the present invention, when a plurality of routes are searched, the route having the shortest route length is selected. As a result, it becomes possible to minimize the consumption of the wireless band in the relay device as compared with a route having a long route length.
[0065]
Next, a description will be given of narrowing down of an appropriate relay route according to the type of transmission information. When transmitting transmission information that requires real-time properties such as an MPEG stream, the importance of the error rate is low. Conversely, transmission rates, delay times, jitters, and the like are important. Therefore, when the transmission information is video data, the relay
[0066]
Here, the operation and effect of the present invention described above will be summarized.
[0067]
(1) The relay device of the present invention includes the transmission information
[0068]
(2) Since the relay device of the present invention can acquire necessary information as information for selecting a relay path according to the transmission information, it is possible to select an appropriate relay path according to the transmission information. For example, delay time, jitter, and the like particularly affect transmission requiring real-time properties such as an MPEG stream. In the case of application data, the error rate has a particular effect.
[0069]
(3) Since the relay device of the present invention acquires the relay route information for selecting the relay route before starting the wireless transmission, it is possible to minimize the pressure on the wireless band due to the acquisition of the relay route information.
[0070]
(4) Since the relay device of the present invention acquires relay route information for selecting a relay route at regular time intervals, the relay device always selects the optimum relay route even when the communication quality on the relay route changes frequently. be able to.
[0071]
(5) The relay device of the present invention acquires only the transmission rate included in the relay path information for selecting the relay path at a fixed time interval, so that the relay path can be changed according to a rapid change in the transmission rate. . By limiting the information acquired at certain time intervals to only the transmission rate, the compression of the transmission band is minimized and the optimum relay path is selected even when the communication quality in the relay path changes frequently. be able to.
[0072]
(6) The relay apparatus of the present invention selects a path having the shortest path length when it is not possible to narrow down the number of relay paths under optimum conditions to one based on the relay path information. In general, it is known that as the path length becomes longer, the wireless transmission band is squeezed or more wireless channels are occupied. Therefore, by selecting the path having the shortest path length, the occupation of the wireless transmission band and the wireless channel can be minimized, and the waste of wireless resource efficiency can be suppressed.
[0073]
It should be noted that the present invention is not limited to the above-described embodiment, and can be variously modified in an implementation stage without departing from the gist thereof. In addition, the embodiments may be implemented in appropriate combinations as much as possible, in which case the combined effects can be obtained.
