Abstract
Description

[Prior art]
2. Description of the Related Art Generally, a copier that performs self-diagnosis processing of the copier itself and turns off the power of the copier when no operation is performed for a predetermined time is known. The purpose of the self-diagnosis function is to return the device to a normal state by checking the state of its own device, detecting a hardware defect, and identifying and repairing the defective portion.
For example, if the temperature of the fixing unit of the copying machine is detected by a thermistor or the like, the fixing heater is turned on, and if the temperature does not reach the predetermined temperature within a predetermined time, it is determined that a defect has occurred in the fixing unit, and the operation is performed. Stop operation and display that a malfunction has occurred in the operation unit. Also, monitor the output of the image sensor of the document reading unit, if the output of the image sensor does not rise above a certain level even when the document lamp is turned on, determine that the document lamp is not lit, stop the operation, and stop the operation unit. To indicate that a problem has occurred.
As a prior art, Japanese Patent Application Laid-Open Publication No. 2000-231310 (the self-diagnosis processing result is stored in a copier that turns off its own power when it is not operated for a certain period of time and executes the self-diagnosis processing of the copier itself. [Problems to be solved by the invention]
However, the conventional self-diagnosis function has the following problems.
That is, the malfunction of the copying machine is not limited to such a malfunction as a component failure, and an unexpected malfunction may occur. That is, there is a case where a failure is rarely detected due to a noise relationship, although the failure is not a failure such as a component failure (see Patent Document 2).
Such a defect does not require any particular repair, and is restored only by simply turning off / on the power supply. Thereafter, the device operates normally, so that only a user action is sufficient. In other words, it can be said that a defect caused by a soft bug or noise can be restored by turning off / on the power supply without performing any repair.
On the other hand, an abnormality due to a hardware failure causes the same abnormal state to occur many times unless the defective part is repaired, and is detected by self-diagnosis.
However, in the related art, an abnormality due to a hardware failure and an abnormality due to noise or the like are handled in the same manner without distinction. For this reason, even in the case of a software bug or a malfunction caused by noise, etc. that requires only turning off / on the power, a message such as "Please contact service" is displayed, and it is not possible to notify the user of an appropriate action. I was
The present invention provides a copying machine and a composite having a copying function capable of notifying a user of an accurate treatment method by separating the content of abnormality information to a user between an abnormality due to a hardware defect and an accidental abnormality due to noise or the like. The purpose is to provide a machine.
